What Foods make you feel full???...

Recommended Posts

I just got my first fill (4.75cc's) on Wednesday and am wondering what people are eating that makes them feel the fullest for the longest amount of time?

I am trying to stay away from breads and things that are starchy so a lot of that is not an option..lol..but i want to eat things to keep my full feeling..I sometimes have a problem with feeling full so any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated..:)

I have band restriction after 2nd fill, and everything makes me equally full, but bread, tortillas, or anything like that makes me overly full after just a few bites. I think meat and cheese keeps me the fullest longest. Plus if I let myself get too hungry then I get hungry again faster and seem to be hungry the rest of the day.

meat, eggs, cheese, fish, poultry, and green vegs work the best. Remember that breads and starchy vegs like potatoes, rice, corn, peas, and certain kinds of squash are the same as sugar once it gets into your system. So do the meat first then green vegs like salad, green Beans, cauliflour, brocolli, cucumber etc will work the best. The problem with carbs, is that they make you produce more insulin and with that comes hunger. If hunger is an issue, try cutting all carbs for a couple weeks and you will not only be less hungry, you will have lots more energy!!!

Same as above, fill up on lean meats, chicken and fish, then veggies and dairy. Try to avoid breads, Pasta, rice, and processed foods as they will have a dramatic affect on your blood sugar/hunger.

I find I do best when I do include some bread or similar in a meal. Those are the foods that give me the bulk I'm looking for.

I've simply never truly felt that Protein keeps you fuller longer thing. I think its probably a fine line between head hunger and true hunger but fibrous foods like wholegrain bread fill my stomach with bulk which satiates me. I can get full on Protein too of course, but I get hungry much quicker because it doesnt have the bulk to it, even though I know it takes longer to digest.

the best meals for me are things like a piece of lean protein, some vegies and a small potato. Those sit for ages. Whereas a small can of tuna on salad vegies means I'm hungry again in two hours. But slap it between two slices of bread and I'm good for five or more hours. The worst meals are carb only ones. I still get the bulk but unless I also eat protein, I just get the munchies within the hour and start looking for Cookies.

For me, I think its the GI load of the meal - carbs are fine as long as they're with protein and a bit of fat to slow down their digestion and the blood sugar rush.

Bread and carbs have not affected my weight loss at ALL, so I just eat what makes me feel best.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
