Lisa...Yes, I own Lamborghini. I LOVE him!! He's a handful, but such a sweet boy. I was so sad to retire him, but he's 19 years old, and he definitely deserves it!! I probably won't be going to many shows this year  But I live in the town that Chattanooga-Cleveland Charity show is in, so I will definitely be there!! I'm hoping to maybe catch drive some of the ponies at the barn this year. I'm at the same barn as the pony Seamair's Simply Awesome, so there are some nice ponies at the barn, and I'm dying to show one! haha Racking is amazing! As soon as Janet had me ride a gaited horse years ago, I was hooked. lol Whenever I get to get another horse, I'm either going to get a gaited horse or I really really wanted a walk trot horse!

I'm adjusting pretty well after the surgery. I haven't rode yet, but I'm so busy with school and work that I haven't had time. I still have some random pain and sensation around the port area. And I go for my first fill today..YAY!! I'm starving! haha I hope to actually meet you one day!! The first show for us is always Pro-Am in Perry, GA.

Is a saddlebred ok for pleasure riding? I don't really intend to show I don't have the time or money for it. I just LOVE to ride.

Yes. A friend of mine has a Saddlebred that is just for pleasure. You need to make sure you find the right one though. I had a show horse before that would have been great for just pleasure riding. You can definitely find a great Saddlebred that is not high strung.

Hello all. This is my first time posting on this site. One of my biggest reasons for wanting to lose weight was to be a more fit rider. I hated the way I looked in photos while horseback riding, and I wanted to be more kind to my petite elderly Arabian mare, while riding. I wanted to look more, in proportion with her while riding.

The only downside to me hoping to lose this weight, is I just bought a very nice Tucker trail saddle; hoping it'll get to be too big for me! :)

I can't wait to ride again, I'll wait 2-3 weeks, and then just do a short flat walk for a bit. See how I feel.

B

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
