MORE CALories MORE Exersice

I have decided my weightloss has stopped because of to low calorie intake. staring today I will increase my calories to 1000 and walk an extra 30 minutes each day. I'm going to have my husband hide the scales so I can only weigh once week. I feel i get disgouraged if the scales don't move like I want. Today I decided to make deviled eggs to snack on for my protein. I have not been getting in 60 grams a day. i DON'T LIKE COTTAGE CHEESE or stringe cheese I do like peanuts but they are high in calories. What do some of you fix for snack low in calories but high in protein. I'm getting tired of same old food.

My dietician allows me to have 1/2 to 1 slice of well toasted whole grain bread. So what I sometimes do for lunch is make an egg salad, but I chop up the string cheese into small pieces and mix with the egg salad. You really cannot tell that it's in there, as it looks like the chopped up egg whites.

Also, if you can have raw veggies and like to dip them, you can take 1/2 cup of low fat or no fat cottage cheese, put it in a food processor, blend it with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of the dried Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning mix, add a drop or two of skim milk if you like it thinner (as it's pretty thick), and dip your fresh veggies in that. It's high in Protein, low in fat (or no fat) and low in carbs, plus you really can't tell it's cottage cheese (it is the ONLY way I'll eat cottage cheese).

If you are eating yogurt, I eat the CARBMaster yogurt from Krogers (King Soopers or City Market grocery store). It has 3 or 4 carbs, 12 g. protein, very little fat (like 1 or 2 grams) and only 80 calories.

I don't know if you have tried several different types of string cheese, but the brand I prefer is Frigos Light String Cheese. It's mozarella and tasty. They also have a swirl string cheese that is mozarella and cheddar combined. That one isn't too bad either.

If you like to make omelets (using the Egg Beaters Whites only) you can add the chopped up string cheese to it. It melts and is really quite tasty while adding additional protein with very little fat. I also like to add a chopped up roasted red pepper to it for some yummy goodness.

Good luck with your journey!

I had to reread your post to make sure that I read right. You are going to INCREASE your calories to 1000? What were you at before and why only 1000? I average at least 1200 calories a day...

For my protein I do dry roasted lightly salted peanuts (sea salt), cheese, Protein Bars (special K and Kashi make some yummy ones), chicken breast, or chicken salad, yogurt, soy crips, etc.

Hope some of that help. You will make onderland. I think "uping" your calories is a good start.
