My five year old son says I burp like a pirate now...I think he's proud of me! And ya know, there's just not really any way to stop 'em, I've tried!

OMG, I have my first fill tomorrow! Crap---it's the size of an ice pick? Did you feel how deep, really? Holy crap I'm starting to freak LOL

How do you feel now?

Don't worry about the fill, most people don't hardly feel it. It's a little pinch then you feel a little pressure and the fill itself which is odd but not painful. I don't like needles or pain and I've hardly ever felt anything and never had them numb it.

I too was terrified of my first fill and after the Dr cleaned the area and came at me with the needle I put my hand over "the" spot and and said

"wait... Wait... I'm not ready!"

and he looked at me all frustrated and said,

"why did you do that? Now I have to steralize it again.. It doesn't hurt, I've already done 25 fills today and had no complaints!"

then he made me put my hands behind my head... LOL... He doesn't numb the site, and I'm glad of that... One needle is plenty just "get er done!"... Turns out there was more pain in my mind then in reality... I am actually looking forward to going back for my second fill on the 26th...

I haven't experienced any burping yet... But my Grandsons will be pleased if I ever do! Boys love that kind of stuff. Haha...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
