Sketchers Shape-Ups

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

Just wanted to let everyone know I bought a pair of Shape-ups today and I LOVE THEM;)!! They were $99. I first saw them on Victoriasecret.com (they had a pink pair for like $120) and fell in love. I didn't find any pink ones, so I bought the white ones instead. When I got home I walked around my neighborhood and I could really feel it working in my butt and abbs. Even tho the DVD that came with the shoes said to only wear them for 30 min at first, I have not taken them off all day :(.

Anyways, if you do not own a pair, I recommend buying some.

Benifits (according to Skechers)

  • Promote Weight Loss
  • Tone Muscles
  • Improve Posture
  • Strengthens the back
  • Firms Buttock muscles
  • Reduces cellulite and tones thighs
  • Firms Calf Muscles
  • Improves Blood Circulation
  • Tightens abdominal muscles

I have yet to buy a pair but plan to in the near future. I have a friend that has a couple pair of their thongs and she wore them all summer and until the snow hit.

Yeah I had a pair of fit-flops also! I wore them when I was shopping in the MOA (Mall of America in MN). The mall has 3 floors, each having a 1 mile perimeter. I was very pleased with them, after 3 miles, I had no pain in my feet, back, legs ext. The only problem was that they were very UGLY! ha. Being 21, I was kind of embarrassed to be wearing them. They made my toes look 10 in long. haha. Anyways, the Shape-Ups, I think, are very cute!

I'm from Minnetonka. Its about 30-45 min away from the MOA. Its a great place, although I don't live there anymore. I moved to Mississippi for school.

MOA is a great place but need at least a couple of days to take it all in. You definatly would get your exercise shopping there.

So they are really helping you? I asked my Physical Therapist about them, she is very skeptical of them & told me to save my money. PT b/c my knees are killing me from the gym & all the movement now! :) But you totally have me rethinking this!

I have a bad knee and a knee replacement:frown:, if they do nothing but cushion you knees and hips that is a plus. I own a pair and they are great my knees and hips they do not hurt at the end of the day. I work in food service and I so a lot of walking and standing. I will let you know about the shape up part but the cushion under the bottom is great.:)

I don't know about the shape-ups, but the similar MBTs were highly recommended by my podiatrist. I have the fit-flops and the fitpflops clogs that I use as slippers around they house, they are so stinkin comfortable I now want to wear them everywhere.

I walk for miles and miles each day, and am looking forward to summer---I HATE wearing walking shoes (obviously, I still do), but am looking forward to MBT walking sandals. I will wait to invest in the shoes until next winter...foot size will probably be different by then!

I can't bring myself to pay $120 for a pair of sneakers... but I sell Avon and they sell Curves products and they have the same kind of sneakers... they are normally $49.99 but I can order them through tomorrow for $39.99 and I am going to do just that. THAT I can handle.. LOL I will let everyone know once I get them if they work as well. $50 is much better then $120... LOL

I bought the MaryJane Shape-Up's and they were wonderful!!! I cant say I got any additional excersise benifits but they were so comfortable. In fact I bought a second pair of the Nubuck-Black Shap-ups....Yes they are expensive..but the comfort was too good to pass up.

I wanted to buy the ankle boot shape-up, but I couldn't find them, so I bought an imitation brand at K-mart called Therashoe. The shoes only cost $20, and are so comfortable. And I really noticed how much they have toned up my legs. I plan to get the flip-flops when the weather gets warmer. I highly recommend them.

So have any of you used the Shape Ups for exercising other than walking? I do some light aerobics at home and am wondering if these would be good for that as well as walking.

Thanks!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
