Let's stop this madness!

Recommended Posts

I read posts here quite often and almost always, without fail, I see the words "I feel like a failure" in a thread.

Let's stop this self-destructive behavior RIGHT NOW! Let's band together (no pun intended) and tell whatever friggin demon lives in our heads to go to hell! Despite whatever binging or poor eating habits we may have (and we ALL have them or we wouldn't be here) this thought process just CAN'T be good. I can only imagine that thinking you're a failure causes you to ACT like a failure. If we think it, we make it happen.

So, let's choose to change our bad habits, not look back on the bad things we think we've done, and look to to the future! I've made horribly bad choices this past week but I'm CHOOSING not to feel bad about it. I can only re-commit myself and move onward.

So how about it?

I hear you....that is easier said then done. I am positive 90% of the time but I am the reason why I am exactly where I am right now. I have no one else to blame but me. When someone let's you down they failed, I have failed myself, I can consider myself a failure. But with that said I have learned from this and have put on my band to go forward and to never fail myself again. Now I am a winner, a "looser" as we say at TOPS, I am moving forward as we all have decided because we are here standing tall beside you. We have failed in the pass but now we are all WINNERS.

Thanks Puddinpie....ummmm I like pie......let's see what kind.....light cool whip/yogurt mixed in/pour into graham cracker crust and freeze. LOL

Ok there is a wonderful book called WHAT TO SAY WHEN YOU TALK TO YOURSELF the auther is Shad Helmstedder.

He talks about how from the time we are first doing things we are told you can't do that!

He gets you to look at yourself in a positive way and to think positily not negatively. Thought and words can effect you! This is a wonderful book! He also has one on weight loss.

One of the things he suggests is to write on you mirror in the BR and in the car and refrigerater, whereever, your goal weight. Your subconsious will see this and it will help you get there! I have tried this in the past, but my goal was 165 when I was 265. It helped me make better desisions though. I do think that now I'm going to write a new # on my mirror, perhaps a shortterm # like 198.

I highly recommend this book. I never finished the weight loss one, you know how life gets in the way..but everyone that has read this book has told me that it had changed there lives...I think I"m going to read it again, and start talking positive to myself and others about me!

I'm going to have a great day, how about you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
