Does an UNfill=party!!??

Recommended Posts

So i needed to get an unfill. I was having some chest pain and the doctor thinks i may have torn or irritated something when i had 1!!! minor PB gosh! anyhoot i wasnt tight at all. So she takes 1 cc out,in hopes that will facilitae the healing? and OMG! first i tested what I can eat at this level.Hmm what can I eat?? I promised i'd stay strong and eat healthy. Initialy it was hard very hard but then I just started to pig out. Here I am thinking well Illl get a fill abck and then its over... or "I couldnt eat bread for 6 months whats a little Peanut Butter and jelly sandwhich". Ive been on a 3 week party boat.. and i promise you as much fun as this sounds to each and everyone of you. I wont lie i thought it would be. But I learned that I am addicted. Now that I can eat.. Ill eat. Willpower is not being very helpful. It brought me back to why I got the surgry in the first place. For a moment there i started to fill my time and energy into productive things. And then food came to visit. Gd bless our bands.. yeh it gets bad and ugly sometimes..

but sitting here..just arriving from yet another party.. Im lookign fwd untill i lay low and leave the "party " scene. its time to get motivated and get back on track!

Good luck everyone..

and I hoooppppeeee I get a fill and this chest pain goes away..

Everyone seems to equate partying with nothing but having fun. They don't remember the hangover that ensues until the next morning.

You can do this on your own until you get a fill. If you can't keep a positive attitude; think of the hangover. Think of how much longer it will take to lose those party pounds.

Eat everything at the party but tone it down to 1/2 portions.

I had a fill before thanksgiving (had a total of 7.5cc in my 10cc band). It was fairly tight and about a week ago I began having reflux. I should have listened to that little voice in my head telling me to make an appointment for a slight unfill. This weekend I was only drinking liquids and felt like I had something stuck. I began vomiting (even after swallowing my own saliva). I went to the ER and luckily the chief surgical resident has been working with my bariatric surgeon for the past few months and was unable to help me........a complete unfill .....to let my stomach rest until I can see my doctor this week. I am keeping track of everything I put in my mouth and will still follow the band rules. I haven't worked this hard for the past two years to start gaining back even one pound back.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
