. Unfortunately your weight will slow down once you start back eating solid foods. I was encouraged to get in at least 130g of protein daily to help build muscle to replace the fat. Good luck and if I can assist you in any way please let me know.

How are you doing Marw? Things have been very well with me. I am trying to workout as much as possible and eat most of the right foods. I really have good restriction since my last fill a week ago. I have another appointment at the end of the month. I really don't know if I should get another fill right now. My doctor is very aggressive with giving his patients fills. I really do appreciate his attitude to giving his patients fills. Thanks again for checking up on me. How is your weight lost going. I am really losing more inches than anything at this point. Again thanks for checking in.

Hi Thanks for thinking of me. It really made my day when I got the note from you. I have lost a ton of weight with this tool. I am now at what I call my lowest. I am not sure my body will want to lose any more unless I work harder for it. I am sort of liking where I am and it has taken a good long time getting here. I have not gained either. I can eat almost anything I want. I just need to eat less of everything. I have had some ice cream but it does not make me feel very good it might be the high fat content. Any way I eat mostly real food not too much and mostly plants with protein first and it works for me. I hope all is well with you. I am now 16 months into the journey and feel really good. I am at 147 on most days and go up to 150 and down so I am up and down but never more than a few pounds. Maybe this is my set point. I will be happy with this for the rest of my life. I love my LB and new way of life. Hope all is well with you? Best wishes imaluckydog Kathy

I feel exactly like you described. I am probably eating a little less because I am intentionally trying to do so. And as I finish that meal, I find that I am adequately full. My problem is that I am hungry again before the next meal . .. not ravenous, but hungry. I have not had trouble with any food and I'm also losing pretty well . . .so why get another fill? I'm just not sure. I surely don't want to get another fill and have trouble. My schedule is similar to yours except meals are closer together . ..6:45 for bkfst, lunch at 12:00 and supper at 4:45. I have an hour commute home and if I try to wait to eat supper at home, then it is after 6:00 and I'm waay too hungry for my own good. So this makes a long night after supper, but that's when I do my walking and drink lots of water too. Overall, I am so happy with this, I just want to use it to my best benefit. Thanks for your response . . .Rose

Reginap,
Thanks for stopping by my page. I want to make sure I address all of your questions and concerns. First of all, congrats on getting your new band. Your band is something you have to learn what works and don’t work for you. Every single person is totally different. We all have the same tool inside our bodies, but it works a little different for each person. From my experiences, your first couple of fills really doesn’t give you as much restriction as you really are hoping for. I have had three fills and this one gives me a lot more restriction than I have ever had before. I can really tell if I don’t take my time to chew my foods really well things appear to get hung up a lot more. That’s not a really pleasant feeling which causes a lot of pressure in my band area. page1

Thank you Cindy....Band slipped and apparently I had alot of scar tissue, so my Doc said to stay on liquids for 6 weeks. Next week I at least get do introduce pureed food, this week is all protein drinks. Toughest thing I've ever done in my life. I am married and my daughter who is 21 just moved back home...but they are both very supportive. I couldn't do this without them. Thank you for the prayers. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. ~Christy

I'm getting nervous! Not about the surgery, but about life afterwards. I thought the six months would never pass but now I feel like I don't know enough. LOL. What kind of foods did you eat after surgery?

Im not sure how this site works either. It keeps changing. I had a second fill yesterday. He only put 1.5 cc in. I do feel restriciton now. I told him I dont want to feel yucky and struggle to get food in. Im still able to eat most things , just not much of it. Since my surgery 2 months ago I have lost .....2 lbs!!! I guess that is better than nothing but , to me, that could just be the ou

Congrats on your up coming surgery. My post diet was a little different. I was not restricted to only liquids for 2 weeks before my surgery. There was a list of foods that I had to eat from. I was not allowed to eat sugar, white flour and only whole wheat products. I could not eat fruits that were high in sugar or carbs. I could only drink sugar free items and limited fruit juices. I was not allowed to eat fried meats only lean cut meats or fish. I could eat low starched veggies and almost anything thing green and leafy. It was okay for me to eat dark chocolate which I love. I was encouraged to drink lots of water, protein water, and anything sugar free even sodas which I don’t drink. page 1

Hey Nat! Everything is going well. No complaints! I went in for my first fill today, ekk. It was a bit uncomfortable because Christina (the PA) couldn't find my port, so there was a lot of searching and pressing down on my stomach. What she thought was my port was scar tissue, I can't blame her though it felt like my port. But I eventually got my fill. I got 3.7 cc's in my 10 cc band. I have to be on liquids for 48 hrs, then soft foods for 1 day then back to solids. Not toooo bad.
How's everything with you? Hope the classes are going well. Have you started going to your appts? Hope all is well with work and school

Your post was so right on, I do hate to waste too, money or food??? So I ate string cheese today on the ride back home with about six ladies. They wanted to stop at an all you can eat Country Southern Buffet, I stopped with them but you could not order off a menu only eat the buffet for $11.00 I KNEW I could not eat but a small childs plate of anything anyway, so decided not to eat. Then stopped on the way home this evening and ate two crispy tacos on the way home by myself, relaxed!

Hey Kelly,
I am so glad to hear from you and congratulations on choosing to get lap band!!!
I was recently banded in December and I love the results. I could give you tons of advice! Do you have any questions specifically? I would love to help answer them. Other then that my general advice would be to stop drinking all carbonated drinks, learn to eat really slow, and practice chewing all your food at least 30 times. That really helped me, so when I got the band it wasn't overwhelming.
Let me know with any other questions you have and keep me updated on everything girl!!!

Hi Jaynell, how are you? I just wanted to stop by and check on you to see how things are going and I hope you are doing well. I am doing okay and am back to exercizing and on solid food. I went to a restaurant today and did okay. I was able to save some of the meal, baked haddock for another meal. It went down okay and I had no problems. Drop me a line and let me know how you are doing.

p/s I totally understand the not being hungry and just wanting to eat out of habit. I woke up and wasn't hungry today, and knew I would be drinking my protein shake...but boyfriend wanted Del Taco so we go and I see all the yummy fries and yummy food ! & I literally tell myself you don't need it. It's horrible that I have always eaten because either it was around or just to. My boyfriend felt bad, but hey I don't expect him to not eat. SO yeah. Girl I feel ya!

Okay, here' s my question? If she puts more in your band and it's too much, then can't she just take some out? How long are you supposed to "wait" before she puts some more in your band, if needed? In the meantime, I'd take in lost of protein (I use this liquid protein that has 42 grams and 170 calories that you can mix in with water,) and keep myself busy (I work on my art) doing anything that kept me away from food.
Don't give up hope. I know...believe me, I know, how difficult it is, but you'll find the "sweet spot." You said, that if you had the willpower that you're having to pull from now, that you wouldn't have needed the band in the first place. If you're like me, and evidently you are; it's not neccesarily getting the weight off, it's keeping it off. It's coming your way, just hang in there. BTW, I find it funny, that 140 is what I'm shooting for too! How tall are you? I'm 5'7. I started at 271, you?

My doctor put me on a 10 day liquid fast because I have a dilated esophagus (because I'm a food addict) and I'm realizing that food is my life. I have a ton of hobbies that I love to do, but food is what I look forward to. How in the hell do I get out of this cycle?
-
I tried to comment on your blog, but wasn't able to. If you are having foods get stuck a lot it could be a couple of things. Are you always taking small bites and chewing VERY well? That can make a huge difference. If you are chewing well and still having lots of stuck episodes, you should think about seeing your doctor for a slight unfill. It shouldn't be painful to eat, if you are eating the right things and chewing well. Best of luck!
