It sounds like you never got out of old habits. When I start to over eat or go straight for the suger I stop and make myself think about the day I had surgery and the weeks of recovering, I tell myself "who in thier right mind would go through all of that and then go back to the same old habits" You really need to detox yourself like Kris suggested, go back on the 2 week liquid diet and start again. For sure go back to your Dr. Face up to everything and then put it behind you. There is noting you can do about it now. You're not a failure, you're human. hang in there

Oh, forgot to mention, my surgery will be in about six weeks. I have completer all pre-op stuff. -
Wow, welcome to all the newbies....that is great to see so many people interested in being banded and the new ones that have been banded, recently.... I was banded on 4/6/07....I was required to go on liquid diet two weeks pre-op and then two weeks post -op....I have lost a total of 27 lbs..I will have my first fill on 5/17/07.... My surgery was a self-pay...15,000.00 but worth every penny...I had my surgery done at a surgery center here in my hometown...I was taken back for surgery around 9:00 and was home by 11:30..so 2 1/2 hours total....I did just fine...little soreness, but nothing major...I also had a hernia repaired at the same time I was lapbanded....I am so glad I had this surgery done...I couldn't be happier...I have been a bit anxious at times, only because I am so afraid I will do something wrong...I eat what I am told to eat, and I don't eat, what I have been told not to eat!!! I follow the diet to the letter....after paying 15,000.00 out of my pocket, you can bet I will do everything possible to be a success....

I had surgery on 6/28 and we went on a week long trip to Florida on 7/23. It was wonderful!!! It's the only vacation I have ever taken where I didn't gain weight!!! I enjoyed very small portions and loved every minute of it. Good luck to you!!! myanniversaryband.blogspot.com -

I got a date of January 5th too, but the lady at the hospital told me she is gonna call next week or by the 29th with a definite time. So when she calls back with a time that's when I start my diet. It's so real right now!!!!

I called the insurance company yesterday after a week and found out my file never made it there. Called my drs office and she told me she had just resent my file that morning. Not sure i believe that. I will call the insurance company again tomorrow to confirm my file did actually make it there. Frustrating. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hey how are you i know how you feel with this process it has been a hard one for me also since i am part of a study and i was also 17 ...there was back and forth to the doctors office for a year i started in jan 08 they said i had to start a six month diet also with that i thought taking blood and doing all theses other things i would be able to get my lap band after six months. When the six months where over my doctor said oh you need a sleep study and after that oh you this oh you need that after all of that i finally got my day (apr 15) after a yr and 4 mons my insurance approved it with in two weeks because i had everything at once so with that i know how you feel and it can be hard sometime but just keep hope alive -
Weight Loss Surgery Option
catwoman7 replied to Jlady10's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if you do lose 100 lbs, you'll likely have at least some excess skin. that is something so many pre-ops and early post-ops obsess about, and I did as well, but from where I now am five years out and over 200 lbs lighter, I can tell you that I have no idea why I wasted even one brain cell worrying about it. In the grand scheme of things, the loose skin is kind of a minor issue. And I think a lot of vets would agree with me. I'd take the loose skin any day of the week over being morbidly obese again, and plus, it's easy enough for most of us to hide. You'll likely be the only one who'll know it's there. And if it really bothers you, there's always plastic surgery P.S. this is me after losing 235 lbs (I've since gained a few back). I had a ton of excess skin here (have since had it removed) -
I haven't had my surgery yet, I am still doing my pre-op diet, its been 2 months now (my surgery has been postponed a few times >.<). On Monday of last week I was 307 and since that day my weight goes up to 309.36, and then down to 306.99. I'll go down 1 pound one day, up 1 pound the next day, or go up and up for a few days and then down, and then up again! (I did have my period until Wednesday). It is so frustrating, I did exercise only twice last week because I wasn't feeling well, the days I didn't exercise I would eat less calories, I have not stopped tracking what I eat in myfitnesspal. I know in my head that to go up I would need to consume 3500 over what I eat, and it takes me 4 days to eat 3500 calories anyway! Is this normal? A stall?

Thank you for your insight. I don't know if they put me on xeral but I do know they had me on blood thinners during and after my surgery for three weeks. I am faithful taking my Protein and Vitamins plus Vitamin E that may help according to my beautician. Thank you again. Sandy -
Hello All, I need a little encouragement. I have recently decided to postpone my surgery due to some pretty serious personal problems (separating from my husband and relocating with my lil one). I was planning to have the operation in December during the holidays because that's when I would have the time off from work, and I was 6lbs within reach of my pre-surgery weight. Well, it looks like the next time I'll be able to take 4 weeks off (My doctor recommends taking off a month) will be end of June. Since making all these decisions I've been really down and eating like crazy!! June is so far away! I'm an emotional eater and I'm trying not to be. But honestly, with the major transitions in my personal life I'm struggling and I've been eating everything under the sun! I'm scared I'm on a downward spiral to completely diving in to a bucket of ice cream and fried chicken! Any encouragement you can offer would be nice and is very welcome! Thx community!

This is normal. I have a 5 year old daughter, single mom. I will be sleeve in May and kinda have this thought at least once a week. I've done the if I'm gone letter, the will, and custody if I die (bc I want my father to have custody instead of her horrible father). This is normal, and I talk myself out of the death scares lol. Just imagine the beautiful life your going to have with your children, and how not only you but your whole family will benefit from this change.

I have a pre-op appointment in about a month and surgery scheduled in about a month and a half. Having this glimmer of hope that something might finally work I've been eating better and doing more walking. I have been so excited about the prospect of finally losing the weight effectively that I've lost almost 10 lbs in the last six weeks. Will losing too much weight pre-op jeopardize my insurance approval (BCBS)? I don't want to gain weight just for the sake of gaining weight, but I know I won't be able to keep it off without the procedure.
