I'm on day 7 of my 2 week liquid diet and I'm finding everything is running through me. I don't have a gallbladder so this has always been an issue but it's amped up a notch on this liquid diet, did anyone else experience this?

I feel y'all. I went to an informational in Jan and now I'm meeting with the nutritionist on Monday. Time is flying but also going so slow .. I have to take 6 support groups and I can't make the first one cause of work and it pushes the completion of my requirements back by 3 weeks. Slightly annoying but I'm hopeful to make an earlier support group so I can submit everything by May 5. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

You are wise to keep them out of your house! I just did a cookie exchange yesterday (I made fudge all week...and yes I kept taking little bites here and there) But it is amazing how much control the sleeve gives you. I have an entire house full of about 11 different homemade treats, plus left over birthday cake from my DD's 10th bday party this weekend, and a ton of Christmas candy floating around. I have had one bite of one treat today, and it's 3pm here. Before it would have been me sampling from each plate, plus all the kinds of candy all in one day. It is so great to have control over food!

Well Aetna denied me not enough details, even though I had been going to my PCP monthly since July 8, Nutritionist every 2 weeks, walk the treadmill, and go to curves 2 days a week. I have lost 19 pounds so far!!! Really frustrated don't know what to do? What I was missing it my 3 month detailed report from the Doctor, I guess they sent July 8 but than only sent nutritionist report. I called Aetna and got a their fax appeal number and my dr is going to submit all the paperwork that was forgotten. Has anyone gone through this process and how long does appeal take?

Surgery With Dr. Ponce Update
BeautyVGSJourney posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi everyone, I just wanted to share that I just had surgery with dr. Ponce de leon in Tijuana Mexico one week ago today! I am doing awesome!!! no pain, no vomiting, no anything! I had no gas pains after surgery and no pain on my surgical site or drain (the only pain I had was my lower back because of a back injury I had years ago and the laying down did not helped it any!) I am working on putting my surgery as well as other pre-op and post-op videos on youtube (BeautyVGSJourney) this weekend (there are three of them there already) if anyone is interested in watching them. I went by myself and Trish was my coordinator and I could not be happier with my experience. Feel free to comment and/or ask any questions! Good luck in your journeys! -

I am having my psych appt. next week. I have a diagnosis of depression and anxiety and I am well controlled on my current medications. I'm very concerned that they are going to see my diagnosis and not see me. I was also wondering what the tests are like. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

Well I did it. It took me months of soul searching worry and research to get to the point of saying to Dr Russell....LET'S DO THIS!!! I remember waking up the morning after and just feeling this huge feeling of excitement. I was on my way to a healthier and happier me and I just knew I'd done the right thing. I was very surprised at the lack of pain I felt. I mean it was a bit uncomfortable if I moved the wrong way or tried to do something too fast but really it was relatively painfree. The only downside so far is the fluids but I know I'm on the days countdown to puree heaven lol I started this weighing in at 136.2kg and on day 9 it's 128.4kg. :biggrin1: Rome has it's first brick....

Yeah I had 2 weeks preop and that was during July 4th lol. Went to two cookouts. Think I "ate" about 10 pounds of ice lol. Just remember, the better you stick to this, the easier and safer the surgery will be. I lost 16 lbs during the two weeks, my surgery took less than 30 min. Dr said it was the cleanest he has seen in awhile and it was due to sticking rigidly to the diet, getting the liver down. You can do it...Just trust yourself!!

Hi, I had the gastric sleeve done and my surgery was on the 15th of may. Just wanted to see if anyone felt some uncomfortableness when they drank after a week??
-
I stocked up so I wouldn't have to deal with it right after surgery. chapstick gas-x strips Protein powder Isopure veggie/chicken broth (low sodium) sugar free popsicles sugar free pudding crystal light butternut squash Soup applesauce various Soups (I pureed them on full liquid phase) a few baby foods almond/soy milk I'm sure I missed some things, but this pretty much got me through the first few weeks. Good luck on your journey!

Any suggestions on stuff to get for after surgery? In one week I'll be having surgery and am looking to make a run to the store to get prepared for after.

Cathy, I am a type 1 diabetic and my weight loss was good at first but I've been at a stall for a while. My doctor told me that my weight loss would not be as fast because of the diabetes.

From the album: During
4 weeks after. wt 222 27 pound loss -
This was a problem for me the first several weeks. I also kept a bottle of water by the bed and drank some when I woke up. It goes away I promise. It is just hard to get as much fluids as you need the first few weeks.

I paid for my surgery myself and did not have too large of a bmi. It was bad but not as bad as it could be so I too am guilty of going through that phase. I wasn't required to lose weight or go on a diet until 2 days before my surgery. I had 4 week long "food funeral". You don't want to give yourself a heart attack a month before your surgery so be careful.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thrown through a loop
living55 replied to ngoycoanaya's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same way. I had to jump through so many rings of fire to finally get my surgery that I almost convinced myself that it was a sign NOT to do it. I even thought, maybe I won’t survive this one it was so bad everything they made me go through. I felt like I was on staff making calls making sure people were on top of THEIR job. To the point that after I received my surgery date, they said … You know you need to see a cardiologist (I’m hypertensive, but my heart is great). When I went there 15 days before my surgery he was insisting on MORE tests. I just finally broke down crying. I said my goodness, are you serious? It’s a sign! But lo’ and behold, I recieved a call a little less than two weeks before my surgery date (11/24) and was told if I would mind coming in the next day (11/12). I said with all my nervousness, I WILL BE THERE! 10 days post op, I am doing well through the Grace of God and those appointments the cardioligist wanted to me do … canceled Stay positive, and your husband is 100% right. Have to work hard for what you want, and it is worth it! Keep your head up, you are on your way to healthiness and longevity -
