I was very sore after my surgery on 3/12. I had to ice my main incision several times because it was so sore. That helped a lot. I found myself looking at the message boards and thinking 'How are these people so pain free and doing to much after surgery?' I just chalk it up to everyone is different. Right now I am 10 days out and I still have some pain at the main incision site but I was able to spend most of the date out and about. I am hoping that I will be much better by Monday when I go back to work.

I'm holding up the best that I think I can. literally taking it hour by hour. This morning I was a little emotional - sad scared lonely and hungry lol - but now I am fine. First day home by myself and I got through it. Kept track of everything I put in my mouth and working it out to a science I guess. Than you for asking - it's good to vent a little :0)

Just found out mscantwait2bhot is having surgery in same hospital, same doctor, one week past my surgery. Woo Hoo!!! It's great to know someone else in the same place is going thru this as well!

i've been on a stall for a month now, im not sure if i should change my diet. ive been eating the same way for the last 4 months and ive still lost weight but i think its time for a change. thankful for the warm weather coming!!

so upset apparently i have to wait for 2 other people to be approved to get a dang surgery date
they only do groups of 3... couldnt get an estimated time frame or anything im extremely upset... i thought i was doing the surgury for me so why do i need to wait on others when ive completed what i need to do on my own....-

yeah i am trying to just hard.... i will not fall back on food tho during this... typically would of rummaged threw the fridge by now but im learing self controll when bad things happen have to try to make it a positive but yes i will be looking into another surgeon ... as far as i know we only have 2 in this area... thanks for the support

pinky, it's good that your staying strong through this and not binge eating, it shows you will do good after the surgery. I really think finding a new surgeon would be good, call your insurance company and explain what is going on and they may be able to help you too find someone in your area that does it. That or they could call that doctors office and be like look give this girl a date or we will pull back on payments to your office? Cover your butt cause you have pushed through to g...

Just a short note for those inquiring why I hurt & am on pain meds...IT IS PART GROWING OLDER & PART HEREDITY. I have cervical stenosis & will be having 3-4 of my neck vertebrae fused in the next few months. Causes severe pain/numbness in neck & arms & migraine headaches. Also just found out this week I have spondylosis in my lumbar spine which is how the neck started. VERY FRUSTRATING to not be able to do much of anything. Just this is bring tears to my eyes. BUT it could be MUCH worse,...

Just a word of encouragement about your cervical spine.......I had a 4 level ACDF on 2/14/2013. The collar was inconvenient for six weeks, but all of the numbness and pain stoped immediately. I am so glad I had it done. I get lumbar epidural injections every 3-4 months from the pain clinic at the hospital. The spine surgeon wants to put off surgery as long as possible because he and my primary and the pain specialist all believe that losing weight will ease that problem. The general conse...

OH NO!!! Been Having these bad migraines and took 2 aleve Friday and 1 yesterday,, I had totally forgot that aleve should be stopped 1 week before surgery and I have surgery tomorrow... Will my surgery be canceled??? Called advise nurse and she told me to go and they will let me know.... uuuugh

Well went to the Lapband surgeon tosay I have been on a major plataue and told him I was very stressed and upset that my weight loss wasn't going as good as we have seen me do , and I was eating the sae so he did the barium and flouro again and said I looked loose , so another fill it was only a 1/4 but we will see what happens , he wants me to come in in 2 weeks so I will be patient and see what happens because I have not changed the way I eat for the better , so hopefully this works aga...

so i went to fil last week for some reason i was able to eat and couple days later i was no able to eat now i am in liquid but for how long should i be in liquid i just started today

Well hello everyone it's been almost 3weeks since by surgery and I'm feeling normal i have lost 18 lbs I'm not hungry like i thought I would be so far so good let's see how it goes when I start eating regular food in 1 more week so far I'm glad and happy with my results.

Started my1 week liquid diet today. Hopefully I will have my sx next Thursday. Fingers & toes crossed that I will have it done next week!

settling in to my 2 week liquid pre-op diet, day 3 is much better so far. Needed to increase my protein and water intake

Today marks 6 weeks post op from my bypass. I've lost a total of 54 pounds since the start of my journey. Feeling pretty good about this new life/adventure!
