Hi, thanks for your kind words. I've never seen you online. I've only been a member for the past few weeks. Are you thinking about having surgery or have done it already?

Hello Everyone!!
Just found this website everyone seems great and has tons of great advice which I find myself needing a lot of
lately!!
I had the surgery April 11th and my first fill on June 12th
went back 2weeks later and there may be a leak in my band or he just did not fill it enough so I will go back next week and have it checked again.
I was wondering if anyone else has experineced severe pain several hours after eating I feel like it is severe gas
someone else said maybe overeating but this happens several hours after eating and tylenol or advil makes the pain go away! Any suggestions???? thank you sooooo much!!

June 30th will be here before you know it! My surgery is the 17th. I'm going to be cleaning house the next 3 days so I can just rest next week!

I had surgery on May 27th. I was in surgery for about 1 hour. Dr. Higa kept me over night which was nice because I got to use the self administered pain medicine dispenser. I didn't have to do a prep the day prior which was wonderful. However, I had to go on clear liquids 24 hrs. prior to surgery. . . I didn't have to have a catheter inserted either. Dr. Higa is wonderful! So far I've dropped 13lbs the first week and 7lbs. the second. Good luck on your surgery!

Hey! Doing ok here. I have been on the boards but i guess i am doing more reading than posting. Hope all is coming along well for you. Well, as you know I went in Monday, got banded, came home tuesday. Wed there was a meeting at work I couldn't get out of so I went in for that and worked 3 hrs. That was grueling! But I thought I could handle a half day Thursday. Friday was a whole day and i was exhausted. Came home to sleep 2 hrs because I wanted to participate in Relay for Life that evening, and woke up at midnite! Then rolled over and slept another 12 hrs! Yesterday I was tired all day and snoozed off and on. Tired today to but its getting boring lol. My tummy has gone from purple and red to brown and green and yellow. My own personal rainbow lol No pain, no restriction, no throwing up and I am trying to stay on the soupy type foods here for the next few weeks. I am having trouble cooking for one tho. It sure doesn't take long for one serving of something to burn up on the stove! I have done that a few times now. BF is turning out to be a jerk. He stayed with me in the hosp til I was out of surg, then he left because "I was only going to be sleeping anyway." He came back for about an hour til I got discharged and hes called exactly once since then. I think I have had it with him but on the off chance that I am operating on a food deprived brain (probably lol) I am holding off making any rash decisions for now. So tell me how your surgery went. Are you doing the right things? exercising? I have tried a bit but mainly too tired to do more than a few minutes. I am sure next week will bring more energy with it. Let me know how you are. Mary

It is aweful. I was on my two week liver shrinking diet...day 8. I had lost 12 lbs. Then my husband came home and I asked him if my jaw looked swollen and he said "yeah". I knew I was in trouble. I ran to the mirror and my jaw was rather HUGE! I went to the dentist and I had an infection in my jaw from a 12 year old root canal that went bad. I had to put off surgery and then have jaw surgery (yesterday). They couldn't save my tooth, so they removed it. I go in Friday t get cleared for Lap Band, but they said it will be Mid August before they can get me in. I can't put my life on hold for that long. I have been putting off getting a job, because I didn't want to take time off with a new employer, but I need to get a job. I hope you and baby girl are well. Is your hubby well too? Are you back on track? Take care. -Donita

Hey,
I am glad you had a good psych eval. My friend had to wait 4 months because the psch wouldn't let her go through. She finally got approved last week. I hope they are wrong with Tricare. My doctor said Tricare go by BMI like everyone else, but Tricare said "no". Good luck. _Donita

I logged my before and after on albums, but my pictures are blocked to the public and I don't know how to unblock them

my goal is to be at 199 by Dec. 26. my 1 year anniversary. got about 38 lbs to go.
I lost my mother 5/21. and just recently been back on-line.
my faith in Jesus has kept me going.
keep me posted on your progress, have you started your Prue-op diet, try your hardest to stick to it. try to walk everyday, even if for only 5/10 mins. practice your chewing now, make it a habit.

Thank you for caring. I did NOT get banded. I ended up with a jaw infection and they cancelled it. I don't know that I will ever get banded. I have to have jaw surgery in a week or two. Then I have to recover for two weeks. Then I get cleared (hopefully) then they will take 8-10 weeks to reschedule me for Lap Band. My doctor is 8-10 weeks out all the time for surgeries. How are you doing?

After a week scale only moved cause I went on a 2 day liquid fast but today I'm up one pound! I wonder how long I gotta wait to get lapband removed????

set a goal to walk at least 7000 steps every day this week.. and I've done it so far!!! Brighter and better futures are coming our way everyone =D

PO Day #34. Lost just under 1 lb this week (32.6 from high point), but my appetite is getting more difficult to control. Still eating less than before, and although I say I want a slow and steady loss, it is disappointing not to see those large weight drops. Have returned to regular cooking, not having any trouble getting anything down. Keep concentrate on long view, practice mindful eating, and pat myself on my back for success! You go Girl!

3.5 weeks post banding...doing well, swelling is gone, hunger is back
but fill is scheduled for next week!
-
Yesterday was 2 weeks since surgery! Still getting used to not drinking while eating. Really sick of protein shakes

Ok.. got things straightened out w/the psychologist...FINALLY!! She is going to submit my eval tomorrow and I will be submitted to insurance. I can't believe it..but I am actually a little nervous. I know it's only insurance, but if it goes through as fast as I'm seeing others go through, this will be the blink of an eye. O well..take it as it comes! Hope you all are in the midst of a fabulous week!

Hey there! I'm slackin on my posts now that I'm back to work. I'm feeling great. Almost back to normal. I feel like my port site is a little lump, too. It's certainly not flat. It's probably still a bit swollen...I'm sure we are ok. I'm down a total of 17 pounds as of today. 9 from pre-op diet and 8 since surgery. YAHOO! I'm starting get a little more hungry than in the beginning, but the shakes are still keeping me satisfied. I sure do look forward to some real food that I can CHEW though. I'm looking forward to seeing you next week at our class. I can't wait to hear what foods we'll be able to add to our diet now! I think we should get our first fill at 4 weeks. I think that is going to REALLY make a difference in our hunger. I long for the days that we can eat of few bites and call it quits and be HAPPY with that! AAaahhhh, this is going to be AMAZING!!!!

new 'me's' are something so good to look forward arent they?!
im on mushies, but soup is part of all the stages, so i am having soup for my lunch, yoghurt for my breakfast and then having 1tbsp pureed chicken, 1tbsp pureed potato and caarrot for my evening meal.
i can start soft food tomorrow, but i will start on saturday, looking forward to having scrambled egg, rice and peas the most!!!
my first fill isnt booked yet, i see the nurse again a week tomorrow, and i will be weighed and measured then. its estimated that my first fill will be the end of september. as my surgeon doesnt do them until 8 weeks. however, even though i am on mushies, i am still never hungry. so maybe i will be someone who only needs one fill or maybe me being hungry will suddenly arrive!!
hope your ok
