Dr is great but his team is Not.
Just wanted to add, SADI isn’t that new. Mine was done in 2017.

What’s the skinny on regain with SIPS?
I just hit 2 years, I’ve regained almost 20lbs. I attribute it to stress (new job, 6mo, bad boss etc and a few injuries that hindered my excercise — I literally fell in a “man”hole and injured my knee then broke my big toe) I swear to myself I will get back on track... but I’m fighting ever day injuries aside.

What are slider foods?
This is interesting, I’ve been indulging in fruit a lot this summer but man it fills me up. Like one bite of watermelon too many and I feel like I’m just full of water.

Food Before and After Photos
The leftover lunch. Leftover crockpot pulled pork mixed with leftover stir fried cabbage. Still can’t wrap my head around portion sizes I plate vs what I can eat. Was delicious and I’m stuffed.

Surgiversary!
I had my revision one year ago today. I’m shocked and amazed at the changes that have occurred this year. My boobs have disappeared, I lost a lot of hair... but more importantly I’m no longer overweight. I still have a belly (and lose skin) but I’m learning to love myself just as I am. I’m so thankful to be on this road. Now I just need to get my butt back in the gym, good news is that it is within walking distance now. No regrets. ❤️

Aetna wait time for approval decision
I had a band to SIPS revision with Aetna. The time from submission to approval was super fast, I think like 2 or 3 days. I can’t exactly remember but I do recall it being so fast that I had to question if they really said approved.

Chi Franciscan - Tacoma, WA thoughts?
It was for me too, so having all that testing done in one day meant less time off from work.

Chi Franciscan - Tacoma, WA thoughts?
My surgeon is Dr. Myur Srikanth from center for weightloss surgery at Chi Franciscan. His practice is separate from the hospital but affiliated with it. All my testing and my surgery was done as an outpatient at Chi Franciscan. Love him. Great bedside manner. Had wonderful experiences with all my nurses pre and post op. My initial consult was March 2017, surgery initially scheduled for July but for personal reasons I had to push back to August 2017. Your consult to completion will be dependent upon your insurance requirements. Not necessarily the surgeon’s timeline. Chi Franciscan is also awesome when it comes to appointments for all the required testing. I was able to do it all in one day. (X-rays, blood, scans etc) Good luck to you.

What I Wish I Had Known Before Banding
For me, the number 1 thing I wish I knew is that after surgery I'd be a total bag o' gas OMG, if it's not coming outta one end, it's the other. And the crazy loud and long burps are just... so... satisfying. oh and that gas pains can land you in the ER.... so let them burps roll ladies and gents, holding them in is bad.

how to appeal when you were approved for surgery but the Dr?
That's ridiculous. Insurance company's try to force people to jump through all these hoops! I tell everyone this, but contact OBESITYLAW.COM. They're advocates and they can help. I was denied twice, and they got me approved. Good luck to you!

May 2011 Banditos
May 5th for me. I have had several fills, currently up to 7.4cc's in my 10cc band. Down about 45lbs give or take. Had one fill done on 10.4.11 but ended up having a major cold and severe back pain so that fill was removed on 10.6.11 and just put back in today. Hope everyone is doing well

Getting through the dreaded insurance approval
If I were you, I'd contact obesitylaw.com. They're advocates to help people fight for approval. Kelly Lindstrom helped me, they're super nice and they know how to navigate through the insurance bs. They file your appeals for you. Good luck to you

May 2011 Bandsters Report In
Oh good, I thought it was just me. It's weird because I'm not clausterphobic (did i spell that right) but the tightness of spanx or anything else like that just makes me so sick to my tummy.

May 2011 Bandsters Report In
I finally hit onederland and updated my ticker Down to a sz 12-14 jeans, still in an xl t-shirt though... The girls refuse to shrink a little lol and I can't handle tight clothes. Any of you wear spanx? I can't do it... I feel like a slug in a straw plus the tightness makes me feel sick.

Post surgery memory loss???
I totally know what you're talking about. Three years ago I had spinal fusion surgery. Afterwards and still to this day, I have the hardest time remembering the little things. I used to be able to recall every little trivial thing...now...it's gone. My spine surgeon said it was due to my body working to heal itself and fuse the bone that it was taking energy from everywhere to do it. But now? Stress maybe. Sometimes I forget my words.... so tired of being stupid LOL I can't tell you if it gets better, I'm still waiting!

NSV!
I love NSV"s thank you for sharing! I started as a sz 18 jeans, went to Old Navy...bought some 16s, accidently bought a 14...it fit better than the 16..so I went back and bought size 12... I can't remember the last time I was in 12s!
