October 60 Mile Walk Challenge
Congratulations to everyone who will or have completed their 60 Miles in September. I know for me it really moved the scale. Well get ready because I want to do this again in October. For those of you who do not know, this challenge is for EVERYONE who does any type of walking (I prefer Leslie Sansone Walk Away the pounds) just add your ticker like mine (see below) and update it as well as this forum when you've completed 1..2..3..miles ect.(See the September Walk Challenge for examples). The challenge starts October 1st and ends October 31st so that gives us 31 days to get 60 miles done. CAN WE DO IT AGAIN!!!!

EXERCISE
I was banded 03/07 I've lost 46 lbs so far..well As of two weeks ago I wasn't really working out, why work out when the weight was coming off? I was averaging 1.5lbs per week. Well I started a 60 day walk challenge Sep 1st (see Fitness and exercise) becuase I was dealing with a 2 week plateau in August. The scale was not moving below 236 lbs. Even though I started the challenge, for the 1st two week in Sep I did not work out (I blamed it on my period lol). Well last week I made a commitment to working out for 5 days straight heck if I stated this challenge it would be really messed up if I did not complete it. I weighed in this morning at 230lbs which means I lost 6lbs in 6 days. If I wasn't walking 4 miles every morning I believe that the scale would have said 235-234lbs. What I'm trying to say is, you don't have to work out to see results, but you do have to work out to be a healthier you. It really just depends on what you goals are. Do you want to just lose weight or do you want to be a healthier you. And with exercise comes better results so don't just settle for 1.5lbs when you can "Earn" more. Just my opinion. Good Luck

You cant do anything about the complications with the Lapband, all you can do is what you are supposed to do to reduce the chances. Feeling like a failure
First you are not a failure because you have had some success so get that word out of your vocabulary. Start slow and try to get some movement in. Dance while you vacume, Tap your feet if you have a desk job and move them from side to side. If you are in recovery then there is not much you can do so just relax and get back in the game once you are better. Call you surgeon you may need a fill...Good luck to you and stay positive.

Getting Lapband with kids and/or babies...
My daughter was 15 months and my son was 7 when I was banded. I was a little tough not being able to life her the 1st couple of days, but we got over it. As far as living with the bad goes nothing has changed, my daughter eats the same amount of food as I do 1-2 cups (the difference is she throws most of her food on the foor lol) my son is becomming a Big Boy and eating larger portions (he has taken my place). I guess what I'm trying to say is. If you really want this you can make it work.....Good Luck
