  1. I don't know much about the carb issue...so sorry! I hope your NUT calls you soon. My NUT told me not to take advice from these forums because they are often wrong. LOL I couldn't make it without this forum!

Congrats...I hope you get some rest and feel better soon. Hugs!
  3. My doctor says two nights unless there is a complication. I am having my surgery on December 20 and I REALLY hope all goes well so I can be home for my kids for Christmas! Good luck with your surgery!
  4. Thanks for the advice! I would rather be prepared then spend a bunch of money on Protein shakes I won't drink. I already did that once when I first had my lapband. All the tips are great! Thanks everyone!
  5. BOO! That is not nice! I hope you can get in next Tuesday. They do say that good things come to those who wait! LOL Good luck~
  6. Welcome! We are being sleeved the same day! This forum is great and very supportive. Yay for our big day! I am so excited too.
  7. Hmmm....and they say our bands are reversible. What a joke. I hope I don't have any issues with scar tissue. I will ask my doctor at my final pre-op appointment. Scary stuff! So glad to be getting rid of this band soon.
  8. So been there, that is why I refuse to talk about it anymore. I hate how people can be so judgemental. I discovered the work place is not the most supportive of places for sleeve surgery. I am interested to see what they say months after the surgery.

So guilty of the food funerals! I had gained a few pounds at my last doctor appointment a couple of days ago. My doctor was not happy and neither was I. I have two weeks until surgery and even though I only have to do a 48 hour liquid diet because I am a revision, I will start cutting back on carbs tomorrow. I figure it will make the big day less traumatic for my body. Good luck with your surgery!
  10. Hi all, I am trying to get the basics bought before my surgery. I have had so much advice on what Protein items to buy that I am now totally confussed! I don't want to waste money on a bunch of Protein shakes I won't like. I am thinking of buying the protein shots. Can anyone tell me what worked for them the first few weeks and why? I would appreciate it!
  11. I ordered it, too! The book is so popular that it sold out and is on backorder. I should have mine next week and I will let you know how it is.
  12. Welcome Texas friend, My revision from the band to VSG is in two weeks. This forum is so great for researching and getting advice. I would also suggest Youtube, as there are many happy VSGers on there with great advice. I am so happy to be kissing my band goodbye soon. Good luck with your new journey.
  13. Welcome and I hope you get your surgery date soon!
  14. Great!!! So happy for you!!!
  15. I hope he comes to his senses soon and stops acting like that. I am sure he is worried about you losing all the weight and getting more attention. I hope everything works out. Hugs. Try to focus on healing. We are here for you!
  16. Welcome! So glad you are here and that you are having the sleeve! Congrats!!!
  17. Love ya Tiff! You have given me so much hope when I was down about my failed band. I was so scared of having another weight loss surgery until I read about your journey. Thanks for helping me decide on the sleeve. You mean so much to all of us~
  18. That is such great new! Especially since I am a teacher, too. I am pretty impressed on you only taking off a week. You will have to let me know how you feel when you get back to the classroom. I am so glad you are feeling so great! That is amazing.
  19. Congrats! I am so happy for you. It is so neat when your dream of getting surgery becomes a reality!
  20. You can do it! I had lapband surgery three and a half years ago. Although they are not exactly the same, they are similair. I was fine within three days. There is only a small time for recovery and then you have the rest of your life to get well and finally be happy. I am having a revision surgery and I have three kids. I know it will be hard, especially with Christmas five days after my surgery, but I know this is the right decision for myself and my health. Just think of what got you here before you back out. Good luck with your decision! Hugs!
  21. Keep it up!!!! Awesome!!!
  22. Good luck! You will do fantastic...keep us posted! : )
  23. Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your weight loss so far...here hoping for lots more!
