  1. Good luck and keep us posted.
  2. Don't worry Mitzi things will change. I had some restriction after my 1st fill and much more since my 2nd.
  3. I burp too if I eat too fast or didn't chew well. Some things just don't go down well no matter what you do.
  4. I'm 3 mos post op and I still don't drink enough water. You will definitely feel better after your first fill. I was starving 3 wks post op and was able to eat almost like before the band, so what you're feeling is completely normal. This is the healing period and your body is getting used to a foreign object. Don't stress about eating too much, just try your best and make good food choices.
  5. Alot of doctors require you to be on a preop diet and expect you to lose weight. So, don't worry at all. It's just that much less you have to lose afterwards. Good Luck!
  6. Sometimes you can get heartburn from not eating enough and being hungry. Could that be a cause? I wouldn't worry about a slip, I don't think that's it at all. Give it a few more days, you're body is still healing and going through a lot of changes right now. Try not to be depressed and keep taking the Prevacid as prescribed. It'll get better.
  7. Welcome back Flabuless!
  8. Thanks for the info. I use 4 splenda a day. not anymore!
  9. My fills don't hurt at all. Just a little pinch and that's it. I don't get a shot of Lidocaine. My 1st fill I felt the saline go in, it just felt funny. 2nd time I didn't feel anything. I have really good restriction right now after my 2nd fill. After my 1st I was still hungry.
  10. I'm with you Poodles...I never weigh myself either. I'm never happy with whatever it says. If I didn't lose enough then I'd be really upset, and if I lost say 5lbs, then I'd think I could've done better. I always sabatoge myself right before getting weighed and after, if I'm upset with the results. You're not insane. I know how hard it is to get back on schedule. Just keep trying and you'll do fine.
  11. I was starving too until my 1st fill. Then I felt a little more restriction. 2 weeks after that fill I was eating like crazy again. I went for my 2nd fill on 2/1 and now I have good restriction. Don't worry about stretching but if you're going to eat try to make good food choices (pizza not being one of them LOL). You'll see, as you get fills the hunger decreases and you will throw up if you overeat.
  12. Buy the strips - they melt in your mouth. They were a life saver.
  13. One never knows what you'll be able to tolerate or not. Everybody is different. I can't eat red meat anymore, just won't go down, but everything else so far is ok for me. Try copying the entire url link (the whole box) and pasting it in your signature. Good luck on the 5th.
  14. Immodium works wonders.
  15. Have you had a fill? I know mine was sore after my 1st.
  16. I was not given that advice. I know laying down after eating is never a good idea anyway but not because of the pouch stretching.
  17. Bypass was too permanent for me. My doctor explained the pros and cons of both and the one that got me was that if you gain your weight or some of it back after bypass there's nothing that can be done (surgically) to help you lose the the weight again. With the band, you can always go for an adjustment. Plus, I was scared that there would be more complications with the bypass. Good luck on your decision.
  18. My gas started the 2nd day after surgery and lasted 1 day. It was horrible but, no pun intended, it will pass. LOL
  19. Sounds great to me. You're doing a really good job! Congratulations.
  20. I just had my 2nd fill and I was starving before I had my 1st. Now after my 2nd it's much better. It's totally normal that you're hungry. With each fill it gets better and better.
  21. I don't drink much but it's ok in moderation. Besides the fact that it's fattening, you don't want to risk getting sick and throwing up. So I say, go for it, have fun, just be careful.
  22. Congrats! You'll be fine.
  23. I wish you all the luck in the world. Keep fighting the disease and don't be scared about losing the band. You need to get well. Good luck!
