  1. I'm an 11/22 er as well. I'm allowed to eat purees but I have no desire. It took me all day to eat a tiny cup of applesauce. Other than that I'm drinking an Isopure Protein drink (40 grams total) and trying to get through that all day as well. I had the gas yesterday so bad I thought I was dying after the surgery. Today that has really subsided and mainly my incision sites hurt. I'm afraid to figure out where my port is. I don't know even know if I'd know where it was. Belly Button hurts the worst.
  2. Hello! I'm Angela. I'm 26 and I've been married for 6 years (today!) and I have a six year old son and twin 3 year old boys. I didn't start putting on weight until I had my children and then could not lose the weight no matter what. I researched the LapBand and eventually decided to do it and quit making excuses. So I was banded yesterday 11/22/10 and I'm so excited about my decision. I'm also very sore as you all know. I'm happy to have a group on these boards that I can talk to and communicate with! It's nice to meet everyone!
  3. I was honestly surprised as well about going straight to purees but that's what they recommended. I'll be honest though. It took me all day to eat one tiny cup of apple sauce so I'm not really eating yet or feeling much like eating purees. I'm trying to get down this 10oz bottle of Isopure all day. That's been a challenge in itself.
  4. Hey our former group was deleted with site upgrade. We should all keep in touch on the November 2010 Bandster Page http://www.lapbandtalk.com/forum/2468-november-10-bandsters/
  5. With the system upgrade - it doesn't look like our group was saved. This is probably our best bet going forward. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/forum/2468-november-10-bandsters/
  6. It appears that with the site upgrade- they've deleted our group someone. I'd say this is probably our best bet from now on: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/forum/2468-november-10-bandsters/
  7. I was banded yesterday too. I am supposed to move to purees today but I'm not ready so I'm doing a 20 oz Isopure drink which has 40 grams of protein. I still feel nausea when I try to walk but i'm trying to get up every hour and walk for 5-10 minutes. I had horrible gas pain yesteday that seems to get worse when I walk.

We are brave - doing it all during the holiday season. Have a great day EDIT. With the site upgrade - they've deleted the group. Here's our best chance. 11. WOW! What a long journey you've been on for the Band! I'm proud of you and Good Luck to you on the rest of the way. Way to stick with it and know what's best for you.
  12. Happy Birthday! Good Luck on your journey!
  13. 3 More Days - its going by so fast. Enjoy your weekend Pre-Bandsters!!
  14. I'm pre op but after reading all the negatives - I was seriously wondering if I was doing the right things. Thanks for posting this and reminding me that I was! See you on this side of the wall after next Monday!
  15. Good Luck! It's so exciting!! Give us an update when you feel able...
  16. Welcome to the best thread around Soundman!
  17. No I have a surgeon in Cincinnati, Ohio. I went to GNC today to pick up some protein/whey powder for my post op Protein drinks. It was quite an experience! There's a lot to choose from out there.
  18. Hopefully - I won't go back to my normal which was 'nothing in moderation'. I'm hoping to be healthier in my decisions. We are brave bandsters because we are this all the WEEK of Thanksgiving..(my former favorite holiday) AND we will go through, liquid, mushy, soft...etc through the Holiday season with all the best stuff laying around. I try not to torture myself with thinking about it... but 'tis the season
  19. Hello Fellow 22nd-ers! Happy to find people as crazy as I am to do this...and we are less than a week out! I've contacted WakeupRN already because we actually have the same surgeon but we should definitely keep in touch on this thread and see how we all do. I'm on the 5-6 medifast packets a day with as much sugar free Jello and popsicles...but I haven't liked the popsicles, really. I loved carbs too so I'm really ready to eat my own fingers. Down close to 10lbs as of this morning - so I guess it's all worth it, right? Good Luck to everyone!
  20. Wakeup- you and I are having the band on the same day by the same Surgeon. That's so funny. How are you doing with everything?
  21. It's very difficult. I'm on day 4 of the pre op diet. It was considerably easier today. I didn't kill anyone (yay) Hopefully it gets better and better. I literally emailed my dietitian yesterday and was like 'Please let me eat!' but she was good and slapped my hand and said 'no, no, no!' Which sucked so I grabbed a grilled chicken breast which is bad. The truth is I haven't been eating much of the packets because they taste so awful I can't stand it! But about the cheating - Major guilt and disappointment and questioning if I had the cajones, so to speak, to do this right... Anyway I was strong and stuck through and as I mentioned - Day 4 is much better. I've lost 8 lbs so far. I think that's weird. My BMI is 45 but the results appear to be there. All I can say is It's worth it! Stick with it!
  22. Thanks Donna - you're weightloss is a great inspiration. CONGRATS!
  23. CONGRATS! I'm doing the happy dance with you. An elliptical machine is a great idea! What wonderful motivation. I'll have to look into that.
