Late Night Eating....can you or is it a no-no for you?
I cannot eat after 9pm. I think maybe a few times my band had mercy on me while I was out with friends. I was just discussing this with my sis last night.

One thing after another..
Wow, it seems like you got a lot going on right now! I am sorry about your mom passing:( It's been a little over 3 years since my mom left and it feels like yesterday! I know I promised her I will get my health in check so I am going to follow thru no matter how hard it gets. I hope things get easier for you and I wish you well!

What size band do you have?
I have an 10 cc band. I was 360 on surgery day. I have great restriction now and battling eating just because. I lost 5 pounds this week after a gain while on vacation. I actually followed the rules and worked out for 3 days so far this week. I know if I continue to follow the rules I will be much further along than I am now. My goal has changed from 199 to 220 to 240 range. Good luck!

The Easy Way Out
I agree and most of all they don't want you to feel proud of your accomplishments because you had help. They don't think you deserve any "you look good" or "congrats". People in general want you to stuggle in life period. It's been like that forever. You get mad props when you struggle and succeed but you get looked down on if you have some type of assistance. What they don't understand that this is a struggle everyday for some people "hince my 8 pound weight gain over the past couple of weeks"

Drinking before and after eating
I drink up until my meals but I wait a full hour after I eat to drink anything. I found out though if I drink something really cold before my meals it makes my band tighter so I let it get almost room temp before I drink it.

very slow weight loss
Yes, over my one year of being banded I averaged 1 pound a week....I will take it though because it's better than nothing. I just hope to lose that 1 pound a week over this next year and that will put me almost at goal. I figured it would take me 2 to 3 years to get to goal anyways. I had a small setback on vacations but I am back on the grind this week! Wish you well and keep your head up!

No restriction at all
It's different for everyone but you may get some good restriction sooner than most with getting 5cc's on your first fill. It took me 7 months before I got to 5 or more cc's in my band. I am at 7.3cc's now and feeling pretty good with it. I don't get hungry unless it's been more than 4 or 5 hours between meals and some days I don't get hungry at all.

Do you weigh-in daily? weekly? monthly?
I am addicted to weighing myself daily!!!!!! I wish I could stop but I can't! I may have to give my scale to my neighbor and tell her to bring it over to me once a week or something lol! Congrats on your weight loss!

ACID REFLUX / INDIGESTION ISSUES
My reflux just started back up again yesterday and it was because I made some homemade chicken tortilla Soup....man I wish I could eat stuff like that without issues! It probably would have been okay but I have been off my Prevacid for a few weeks now. They ae so expensive but it's time for a refill.

How is it possible????
I am with ya Jenn! I got way too much! It has gone down some but it's still huge and even more noticable now that my waist is smaller. You know you got too much butt when your little sister gets tired in the grocery store and wants to prop her elbow on it and take a break while I am looking for something!

Not losing anymore weight
It took me 7 months after surgery to get a good enough fill to actually feel the difference and I started to lose. I also got mad enough to join the gym in September. So with the workouts and a better fill I started losing again. It took me to get over 6.0 cc's to feel any real restriction. I hope you start losing again real soon because I know it get's frustrating to have surgery and still not lose.

Internal stomach swelling?
It took about 2 weeks before I felt real hunger. I was hoping like you it would last a very long time....it came back but now that I have 7.3 cc's in my band I am never hungry again yea! But, I am having issues with just wanting to eat because...so once I get a hold to that I will be good.

Banded yesterday - gas pain after sipping water
Is this your second time being banded? Your ticker says 2006. Oh, I forgot to answer your question. Yea, gas is likely to be anywhere after surgery. I hope you got your gax-x.

I hope you get to feeling better.

Need advice for willpower at work
I really believe that there are going to be days were no amount of willpower is going to keep you from those cookies! What you can do is to try to cut back on the rest of your calories for the day to make sure you don't go over and keep up with your kickboxing. I noticed that if I don't treat myself sometimes I will eventually go crazy and end up overdoing it the next time I do see some sweets. I may be wrong about the willpower thing but from what I noticed if most of us had willpower we would not need the band period. So, with that in mind keep everything in moderation. Oh, another thing I do is eat one or two and throw the rest in the trash. I am not a trash eater so once it goes in there it's no going back lol! I threw almost a whole box of cinnamon toast crunch away yesterday.

Whats been the hardest thing for you to give up
Well, for me I can eat anything if I take my time and make sure there is plenty of dipping sauces or something to help liquify it. I just choose not to eat a lot of things because those dipping sauces can add up in calories. 2 tb of ranch got like 120 calories in it! I would have to use a lot of it to help break down a subway sandwich. I know they got reduced cal and fat sauces but why waste my time with those.
