  1. :help: Oops, looks like I posted this twice. I don't know how to fix it! Sorry.
  2. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the scale I forget about the other stuff. Things I would like to do in 2007... 1. Expand my business to a larger location (if the opportuntiy presents itself and it feels right.) 2. Save more money towards getting a house. (Stop wasting money) 3. Let go of my children a little more than I have been. 4. Visit my parents atleast once. 5. Be less defensive and more open-minded 6. Be more social and make more of an effort to have real friends. 7. Cook more and eat out less. 8. Work out a financial plan for my future...and stick to it! That's it for now.
  3. Marjon9-Thank you very much for the smiley. I am sure I can put it to good use. Happy New Year. Gift Certificates are such a great idea. Too bad there isn't a Christmas registry like there is for weddings. It would save on a lot of returns! I am going to think about my goals for 2007. It has been my New Years resolution to loose weight since about 1977! I really would like to get this weight off this year. I am 108 from goal and they say 2 pounds a week average. 52 X 2 is 104. Hmmm. I think I want to commit to that long term goal but break it down into managable pieces. Right now I just want to lose 9 pounds so that I have less than 100 to loose.
  4. Hi Jerry. Congrats on your loss so far!
  5. Shesha - I had no problems on the flight home. Remember to do a lot of walking. My Dr. said to get up and walk around every 1/2 hour on my flight home. I got up once an hour, otherwise I would have felt people may have stared and pointed! Good luck!
  6. Hi Ahubar! Don't worry, you are back on the straight and narrow. When all else fails, maybe you can stick to your post op diet if you use fear as a motivation...ie...tell yourself that you need to heal properly for a few weeks so that you can have a lifetime of no-hassles with your band. I am afraid of screwing up my band as well. I need this to work well for me. One day at a time...you can do this.xoxo
  7. I have read about the clinic in PV, it sounds very good. I hope you are able to enjoy your holiday. Happy New Year!
  8. Doriana, thanks for posting this, it is very interesting. My first fill is in Feb. I am only a couple weeks post op so I am still on liquids and of no help to you. My fear of slippage keeps me on the straight and narrow. I am an esthetician as well. Today was crazy busy but I loved it. I just sip on my protien shake and drink Water while I am at work. I hope you have a wonderful new year. For me, being in the beauty business, I have always felt like I should take care of my body with as much care as I take with other peoples bodies. I am afraid people are shocked when they see a fat middle aged lady instead of a hot 20 year old. Once they get to know me everything is good, but I don't like thinking that I give a bad first impression. I hope that losing weight will make me more confident at work; and that it will be everything that you dream of it being. Take care and congrats on your first fill!
  9. You guys are hilarious. Why not just bring one of those little dirt devils...very portable and easy cleanup. I brought my mother in law with me. It didn't even occur to me to be in need...what was I thinking??? Wheezy has given very good advice. We are such an instant society. As we all know, this is a journey, there are bumps, curves, giant potholes and clear sailing. Just having each other to turn to, and reading other peoples stories is enough to know that it is all worth it.
  10. Cloe-well that ends that subject! Poor Mandi is probably still traumatized. My parents never did 'it' so I am sure Mandi's didn't either! My posters were of Farrah...I can still do my hair that way - but just for the record... I don't. Hot guys from my youth...I think it was Cha-che (Scott Bao or something like that) :kiss2:
  11. KW- Yeah on the pants fitting. It's great they are a little tight, it gives you room to shrink. I hate it when people buy me clothes for Christmas. They are always to small and people want me to model it etc...grrrr. Same thing this Christmas. The stuff is way way way too small, and they didn't know about my surgery until after they had bought it. Funny (not really) story- The in laws bought me a really fantastic food scale. It measures calories, fat, carbs, sodium etc... I loved it! Then my mother in law says "Ya, and we bought it before we knew about your surgery, isn't that great?" Hmmm, let me think...I am pretty sure that was an insult, seeing how I wasn't on a diet. Oh well, I just take a deep breath and carry on as usual...is there a smiley for banging my head against the wall?
  12. Carol- your daughter sounds great and so does the idea of a clothes swap!
  13. :biggrin1: Beversman - Thank you for the advice on the peroxide. It was Deiselangel who had the question about it. I was worried to about her too, although I didn't have the details that you have. I am sure she will read this....I hope! Maybe I will switch from polysporin to alcohol, it will probably get rid of some glue marks as well! Thanks.
  14. I live in Canada and had my band done in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz. The cost was $8500 US plus airfare. I have no regrets and had an excellent first class experience. It is well worth it. I feel like I have bought an extension on my life. I had to get a line of credit, but in the long run, who cares. I am sure I wont regret it when I am 80!
  15. Welcom DeiselAngel! I was also banded on Dec 18 and our weight stats are very simaler. I was 284 but only posted 279 cause that is what I was when I started my preop diet. Incisions....I had a bit of oozing from the big one. I have been using polysporin on them. It is working for me. I am a little concerned about the peroxide drying them out but what do I know! Trust your instincts. Have a great day everyone!
  16. Yippee! The most amazing thing happened today. I put my uniform on today (afternot wearing one for a week) and it was so big on my that I thought it was one of my old XXL's instead of the XL that I had intended to wear. I checked the tag and it was the XL! Happy days. I have always felt fat and self conscious when my uniform has been too tight. Today is a great day...now I have to go before I am late...hehe. Happy New Year Everyone!
  17. Hi Audree. I went through this too. Also, I found a lot of my hunger was head hunger. Once I decided I wasn't hungry it really helped. Also, about 3 weeks before my operation my doctor gave me anxiety medication. I took it when I needed it and it made things a lot easier for me and my family. It also helped me get the sleep I needed. Everything will be OK, you are in the best possible hands. I promise that it is worth it. You can do this, stay calm, remember to breath. You are more powerful than food. xoxo Call me or pm me if I can help you in any way.
  18. loriely- congrats on being half way there! My Jan goal is to exercise a min of 3 times a week and to book my first fill and to purchase my plane ticket. I am going back to Tijuana for my first fill. Happy New Year Everyone.
  19. Congrats everyone! I am more social and comfortable in crowds than I was a month ago.
  20. Hi! When I was there (Dec 18) it was a little chilly to use the pool. I was very happy with the food. Had the best spinach salad of my life in the dining room there. Very reasonable prices too. When I checked in I asked for a room overlooking the pool. It was very relaxing. The alternative is a room with the balcony on a very busy street....not so relaxing! At the clinic everyone has there own room. You can call home from the clinic at no charge. The phone is right at your bedside so it is very convenient. They are so awesome there! I had an amazing experience! Best wishes to everyone!
  21. This is so exciting! I think I would have died right there! Congrats! I cant wait to join you! By the way, I agree with the tummy and boobs, I have to pay off my line of credit as I loose the weight so I can spend it all again on repairs! (Something I will gladly do!)
  22. ahuber -Hi there. It is nice to hear from you. I am still in GP, I am leaving on Friday aft. I am suprised you are albe to eat so soon. I tried having about 4 bites of rice and had to get up and walk it off. I felt like I was going to choke or like I had really bad anxiety. I guess everyone is different. However, I did discover that if you let chocolate melt in your mouth it is a liquid and slides down easily! My doc has me on clear liq for the first week and then full fluids for the second week and then straight to solid food, but eating protien and vegis before anything else. What kind of post op does your doctor have you on. I can't believe the differences in doctors advice! It makes it interesting though! Becca77-You will get to that stage...I was the QUEEN of that stage...you will love how good it feels to be in control. My husband even commented on it the other day. He was expecting me to be evil and I have been fine! Pre-band life, it was almost as if I panicked. I felt like if I got hungry and didn't eat right away I would throw up. Weird stuff?! I will be cheering for both of you! We are all in this together! :)
  23. Best of luck to you. We will be so happy you are doing this for yourself. I am thrilled because I believe I have added many years to my life. Congrats and best wishes.
  24. I did preop of one protien shake and one or two lean cuisines each day. I think the benefit of doing some sort of preop (even if it is not drastic) is that it combats the 'last supper' syndrome. Best of luck to you!
