holy crap... I am going under the knife! Again!
Good luck! I will be needing one of those too as well but I think my insurance will cover it if I wait 2 more years (have to be at least 3 years post op). Let us know how it turns out!

Slime blahhhh
Toast? Are you crazy lol. Especially after a fill, I cant even eat toast and I am like 2 months since my last fill . As long as you can get plain water down you are not too tight. You might still be a little swollen from the fill just take it easy have soup or mushies today and try to stay away from the breads!

how long were you in the hospital? out of work?
For me was same day surgery, went in like 5AM was out of surgery by like 8AM but got stuck in recovery til almost 3PM due to my bladder apparently didnt want to wake up from anes and they would not let me leave til I peed . I work at a desk and took a week off and was back at it 100% no soreness. If you do a lot of lifting or bending over I would take off as long as possible 2-4 weeks.

6th fill
Every doc is different, just like every band is different. The Dr may only be putting in small amounts of fluid each time, which to me is safer than going from eatting anything to eatting soup, all your are gonna do is get stuck and be miserable

Cold Water
Cold drinks will be the bane of your existance Mornings especially it is very painful for me I usually drink decaf coffee or caffine free teas. I can usually drink colder stuff later in the afternoon and in the evening but if drank too quick they hurt really bad and sometimes actually come back up. You have to remember your stomach is a muscle and with any muscle when something cold touches it, it likes to constrict

101 Pounds ----------- GONE!!!!!
Great job!!!!!!!!!!!

port question....stupid maybe?
Could have popped a stitch holding the port to your ab. Could have just pulled a muscle and feeling it more since the port is attached to it. I would definitely bring it up before they do the fill in case it has flipped.
-
Physical Activities
The only one I can even think of possibly happening is depending on how well the DR stitched your port to your ab muscles if you do a lot of crunches or something it might cause it to flip but I would think that would be a rather rare issue and you would have to do an insane amount.

My boyfriend loves my lap band (he gets whatever I dont eat!)
Well my wife and I both have the band, so we usually split a single entree and even then sometimes there are leftovers . But when my little brother comes along he cleans up lol.

Any Regrets after Lap Band Surgery ?
Gonna have to jump in the boat with not doing it sooner. Wish I had felt like this when I was 18
-
Acid Reflux
I would definitely schedule a barium swallow test with fluro with your doc. Slippage/Dilation takes on the form of Reflux or heartburn and the earlier it is caught the easier it is to fix.

Finally the question has changed...
I personally like the "who the hell are you?" responses lol

How do you know what the lap band can handle?
Yes, the longer you can wait to drink after you eat the longer the food will stay in your pouch and the less chance you have of it getting stuck. The only exception is during the first 2 weeks after surgery when it is good to flush the food out of your pouch during the healing process.

How do you know what the lap band can handle?
Yeah it is definitely a trial and error. And a good point that was listed above just because it is a no now, doesnt mean it is a no later. But the reverse is true as well. Just because you can eat it now doesnt mean you can always eat it. It is almost like a game

Marathoning lapbanders
Starting to train for my first Half and glad i came across this topic. I use the Powerade Zeros so I never have to worry about the calories but I am afraid on the longer run (actual Half) that I could run into issues and need to supplement something since on my last run (5 miles) I burned close to 818 calories and that is only a third of the way there lol.

Pre-Op Lap Band Surgery diet...not so bad!
lucky devil I had 2 weeks of nothing but the shakes, shakes only. And that was during July 4th lol.

Can you still swalllow any size pill?
Just make sure you read up on your pills and make sure that they are ok to crush or cut. My Blood Pressure (or Choloestrol) pill I crushed it and added it to apple sauce and it left blisters all in my mouth. Was not a good day.
-
Pouch stretched or slippage?
As long as you are not experiencing heart burn or reflux at night I doubt it has slipped. it is possible you are just in need of a new fill and that the dry heaving may have settled the band a bit. As you loose weight the fat buildup around your stomach shrinks and that is what causes you to need additional fills. Good luck!

Can you still swalllow any size pill?
They make a Z pak type pill that is a powder that you add to Water. It tastes hideous but works great. GENERIC NAME: AZITHROMYCIN POWDER PACKETS - ORAL (azz-ith-row-MY-sin) BRAND NAME(S): Zithromax

Should I get a slight unfill before I go to Vegas?
That is a tough one I dont know about the band and flying as I have never flown but if I had found my sweet spot I would be very hesitant to mess with it. Maybe just put yourself on liquids if things get hairy after the flight and migrate back to soft foods/normal foods when you return. I would hate to get a slight unfill then spend 6 months filling/unfilling to hit that sweet spot again. Good luck in Vegas!

153 pounds to go
It will happen just stick to the routine. Listen to your body. Learn the signs of when you are full and you are just having head hunger (you hiccup, your nose starts to run, etc) if you can figure out your sign it helps soooo much more. I never expected to loose more than 100 lbs but it will happen!! Good Luck!!
