  1. Dee, I did the same exact thing. Made sure I told everyone that I loved them, etc. You will be fine. It's scary but you will be just fine. Please let us know as soon as you can how you made out.
  2. Good luck tomorrow!!
  3. go to Quick Links above and Edit Signature and then paste in the IMG code from the ticker site.
  4. I have had 2 days of diaherria. I finally had to take imodium. Any thoughts on this?
  5. Jamie, I felt the same way and in reading these threads it seems a lot of people had the same apprehensions. It's a big deal! I was freaking out myself and questioning my decision. I am 3 days post op and glad to be on the other side of surgery. Now, it's one day at a time. Good luck! Welcome to the group.
  6. Yes, I had this problem and it turned out to be gas under my rib cage. It's gone now. thank goodness!
  7. Jen thanks for the update on your surgery. Mine was similar but I didn't wake up in pain. I woke up wanting to puke!! They gave me something and it settled down. Today is day 2 and I have been having gas under my rib cage. It comes and goes. The incisions are ok. Not really painful at all. All I am taking is liquid tylenol every 4 hours and it seems to be enough. I have to admit that I was freaking out prior to going to the OR. I was really questioning what I was doing and why. Even today when I was having some bad gas pain I was saying why did I do this?! I'm sure I will happy in a day or two. Overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I am having trouble figuring out what to eat. My doc wants just liquid for a week and then add soft foods. I also can't figure out if I'm hungry or not. Is it pain from the surgery or is it rumbling because I'm hungry. I'm sure that will sort itself out too. I have been sleeping a lot as I am more comfortable lying down. That's about it. Doing ok.
  8. I made it through. I'm banded. Had a really long day. Had some bad gas pains around my rib cage but walking has helped. I still have a foggy brain from the drugs. Otherwise, I'm doing well. No pain other than gas. I'll write more later.
  9. I don't want to sound stupid and I don't want to get anyone upset but I have no idea what PBing and slimming is. Sounds like something I need to know?
  10. You know it's easy to "cheat" on any program and this is no different. If you drink high cal milkshakes, eat ice cream, etc. they will go right through. If you drink with your meals, the food will wash through and you can over eat. People who are not losing weight are not working the band they are finding ways to sabatoge themselves....IMHO.
  11. Kirby, good luck with going all day with no food! poor thing. Jen, I'm starting to freak out too!! We'll be fine. I'll catch you on the other side.
  12. EWWW!!! Caster oil!!! Thank God I don't have to do that. Thank you everyone for your good wishes. Welcome fbinfw! We have the same surgery date. It's so close now, I can't believe it! Jen, I have to be at the hospital at 6am but surgery isn't until 9. I'll be thinking of you both. LaptoFab you are also Wednesday. There are a lot of us on Wednesday! I'll be anxious to hear how everyone is doing. Good Luck to all the Wednesday bandster and Good luck tomorrow, Tally!!
  13. Congratulations!!! How are you doing?
  14. Hey, Jen! Yes, I am getting nervous and questioning my decision but I am determined to do this and change my life. What time is your surgery? Mine is at 9am. Would love to keep in touch to see how you are doing.
  15. Hello! It's good to see everyone is doing well. I am on the end of my liquid diet as my surgery is on Wednesday morning. I sure hope I have the same eventless day!! My doc has me on his Meal Replacement Protein Drink and then just any liquid that is sugar free so I have had some dizziness recently and decided to add some broth once a day for the sodium and feel much better. I am down 11 lbs in the past week and a half from the pre-op diet. Looking forward to moving on. Good luck to everyone!! Have a great Sunday.
  16. good luck ladies!!!
  17. Hey tim and mich. My first day was ok but I have a real problem with the taste. I'm going to call the doc tomorrow to see what I can do to make it better.
  18. Hi, Jen. I totally understand. I have only told my boss and two co-workers. I asked them for there discresion and told them I didn't want it to be common knowledge. Hopefully, they will keep it quiet. I decided not to tell anyone else at work and I'm sure I will be asked when I start losing weight. My plan is to tell them that I am on a medical diet that is monitored by my doctor. I don't plan on telling them I have had the band. It's none of their business. I need some help. I started on the liquid diet today. The doctor supplies the Protein powders. I got chocolate and vanilla. The vanilla is not drinkable. I almost gagged on it. The chocolate is not quite as bad but let me tell you....I wouldn't need to have the band done if this were the only thing I could eat for the rest of my life. I would starve to death. I need help. What are other doing? Is anyone else on just protein powders and if so how are you doing?
  19. I am having my very first liquid protein shake. It's not too bad tasting. We'll see how the rest of the day goes.
  20. Hi, Erin! My band date is the 11th too. I just came back from seeing my doc and getting my liquid diet. I start tomorrow. Can't wait!
  21. Good luck, Kelly. Let us know what your date is.
  22. Hey Cleetus, I am August 11th too!
  23. I also am having the same doubts as everyone else but this thread has really helped. Thank you all for posting your experiences!
  24. I have my doc apt in the morning to get my pre-op liquid diet and go over any questions and then in the afternoon I have a visit with the anesthesiologist. It's getting more real!!
  25. Hi, Lena. Welcome. I am scheduled for 8/11. Glad to meet you.
