  1. I had a fill on 5/2 which I thought would be my magic one but instead I am now looser than I was before the fill. Actually, I think I am looser than I was 2 fills ago. I am freaking out that something happened and my band has leaked. How can I be looser? I called the doc and I have an apt on Tuesday but was looking for some input. Could there be other reasons for this or does it seem that my band has leaked and I am going to need surgery to fix it. !!!
  2. We have the same story. I was banded on 8/11 and have had one cc for the past 4 fills. I finally asked him to be more aggressive and he gave me 2 cc's last week and I think that finally did it for me. I am finally losing weight after months of standing still. I definitely feel your frustration. Hang in there.
  3. I also have the Realize band for the same reasons as mentioned above. My real decision was based on range of adjustment of the Realize band. The recall will not effect you as they pulled any unused bands and replaced them with the corrected band.
  4. OOPS!! I meant DIDN'T - I didn't find the pain to be so bad. sorry.
  5. I did find the pain to be so bad that I couldn't get up or down easily. I wouldn't spend money on a chair that you may only need for a few days.
  6. I use applesauce but Betsy is right about the time release meds.
  7. you can get the gas-x strips. they melt on your tongue.
  8. the stairs worked for me. when I got bad gas pains I would go slowly up and down the stairs - just once - don't overdo. and between that and the gas-x it did seem to help.
  9. I was the exact same as you describe. It felt like my stomach was the emptiest it had ever been and almost hurt from it. It was constant for awhile. My doc also told me little to no exercise for 4-6 weeks because he didn't want to take any chance of the band slipping.
  10. I am getting that feeling now after about 1 - 1 1/2 cups of food and I'm not losing at all. Does it sound to you that I am not at the ideal restriction?
  11. Thank you for your post. I have been beating myself up. How do you know when you have the right restriction?
  12. Oh that is so good to hear. I have had my first fill and have not lost an ounce. How long has it taken you to lose 90 lbs and what are you doing for exercise? I hope you don't mind the questions. :cursing:
  13. Thank God you got her to the hospital. I hope she heals quickly and gets home and feeling better. Give her our best and tell her we are anxious to hear from her.
  14. Please let us know how she is doing.
  15. I don't think that most doc do fills that way so I hope everyone's not getting too scared. That was an extreme way to do a fill.
  16. Yeah, that sounds extreme. I was told to take small bites, put the folk down, chew throughly and it takes me about 20 minutes sometimes longer depending but never more than 30 minutes. If it took 2 hours for each meal you would be eating all day long.
  17. I have the Realize band. The manufacturer recommends about 11 or 12 cc's. But the band can hold about 20.
  18. I would also try and get her off the pain meds. They could be the issue too. I used liquid tylenol when I had my surgery and I did ok. Some discomfort but nothing that was unbearable. Still, the doc is your best resource. Even the ER if you are really concerned. Make sure she is hydrating because that could cause headaches too.
  19. 6 weeks for me. I go on tuesday for my first fill. yahoo!
  20. I'm right there with you at 5 weeks out of surgery. I go for my first fill on tuesday and am looking forward to restriction. Right now I can eat anything and I seem to always be hungry. I have never in my life woken up in the middle of the night from my stomach growling but I did two nights ago. I was appalled!!! I never want that to happen again. lol. Let's hope that first fill solves our problem.
  21. You just had a fill 2 years from banding? I thought you get to a spot that you stay at forever?
  22. You are getting stuck already? Do you have Fluid in your band? I start on solid foods today. So far so good. I am terrified of getting stuck. :blushing:
  23. This is probably a stupid question but does any digestion happen in this new pouch or is it just however well you chew that gets it into the stomach? or stuck?
