  1. im not really sure, i guess its probably different for everyone but i think you should at least give your doctor a call and see what he thinks.
  2. have you had your gallbladder checked? or removed? i am dealing with gallstones that hurt like you wouldnt believe. maybe you can ask your doctor to recommend a fiber supplement or stool softner if he doesnt think your gallbladder is the problem.
  3. i have never considered bypass but after 3 surgeries i have to keep my mind and options open. i have mailed cd's with my recent upper GI to several doctors. now im just waiting to see what my options are.
  4. Well basically it is having the sleeve done all over again. I have been talking with a doctor in mexico about having it done and he suggested i might want to consider gastric bypass. I have never even thought about having the bypass done, not even at my heaviest weight. I have a low bmi since i lost a lot of weight with the lapband so im scared to do it but im slowly gaining back the weight. Have any of you known anyone with a low bmi get the gastric bypass????

  6. and congrats!!!!! i hope to have my resleeve soon. maybe you could ask dr kelly if he has had to do any sleeves a second time for any patients? i am considering him for mine.
  7. i want to see the pics of your stomach!!!
  8. i have thought about DS, bt im not sure i want the side effects that come with it but i do plan on asking about it. i think with a proper sleeve i can get back to my goal weight i will definetly keep posting....hoping it will be good news!
  9. yes, a RESLEEVE is when the first one fails and the doctor does it again. i'm not sure why my phone keeps capitalizing RESLEEVE. sorry.
  10. I have not updated that in a long time. I was below my goal weight with the band but when it slipped I gained back 50 pounds really quick. I was at 170-175 when I did the band to sleeve revision. I lost 20 pounds when my stomach was really swollen after surgery but now I can eat as much as I want no restriction at all. I have gained that 20 pounds back and then some since getting the sleeve. I know its just a matter of time before I gain it all back I do not have a leak our anything, just no restriction. I think that the doctor I went to should have done it smaller maybe he wasn't the best choice for a revision. i'm guessing after my two lapband surgeries I had a lot of scar tissue soo maybe he thought he made it small enough but who knows. I know the sleeve will work for me if its done properly, I have faith in that.
  11. thank you for all the suggestions. I am getting a RESLEEVE, my band to sleeve revision was done last year.
  12. hi, i'm am going to do two phone interviews with Dr Garcia and Dr Kelly and i'm trying to come up with a list of questions to ask them. this will be for a RESLEEVE so I want to make sure I ask the right questio ns. here's what I have so far..... 1. how many resleeves have you done? what was the outcome of those patients? 2. any patients I can contact that you have done a RESLEEVE for? 3. how small can you make my new sleeve? 4. what are the chances it will work this time? that's all I have so far, any suggestions would be great! thank you, shaundra
  13. no I went to Dr Almanza. I am considering Dr Garcia for my revision.
  14. i do not know the reason it failed, my assumption is that the doctor i went to does better with virgin sleeves than the band to sleeve. i know several other people (virgin sleevers) who went to him and have done fine, i read about another person on here in my same situation who went to the same doctor and had to have hers done again after her revision. i have been in contact with dr kelly through email and i wanted him to do my last surgery but i saved a few bucks by going to the other guy. i dont want to make that mistake again, but they are both very close in price and people speak highly of both of them so im confused and hope to find someone who has had a resleeve with either of them.
  15. Hi everyone! i have not been on here in a while and i need some help. i was a band to sleeve revision a liitle over a year ago and it has failed. i lost 20 pounds on the liquid diet when i came home but have gained that back and i am slowly gaining despite diet and exercise. so my question is....have you had a resleeve with dr garcia or dr kelly in Tijuana? i would like to hear from anyone who has had to have their sleeve redone and possibly anyone who was a band to sleeve revision that failed. thank you, shaundra shaundrabarnett@gmail.com
  16. hi, i havent been on here in a really long time but im back and wanted to answer your question...kind of. i was sleeved 1 year ago after having the lapband and it has not worked for me. its like i dont have a sleeve at all i have been so bummed out. called the coordinator for my surgeon and she said i can have a "resleeve " but i will have to pay of course or maybe i should convert to the DS. so im sure there are people who have had to revise after the sleeve, i know a woman who actually had it done today because she hasnt lost any weight either. i have not heard from her yet but im sure she will post on here soon with an update.

  21. yay! so many dr almanza patients. please tell everyone i said hello when you get there. Shaundra
  22. i want you to make your own decision, but i had the band for 4 years and i have hade the sleeve for 17 days. i wish i would have started with the sleeve and never had the band. its totally different...like night and day. the band is a lot of maintenance and for me i never found that sweet spot. i was either way too tight and throwing up everything i ate or it was too lose and i would gain back what i lost from vomiting. i hope you make this decision on your own and make peace with it before surgery, but my opinion is get the sleeve. ive done both and i can tell you i hated that damn band and im so happy its gone! have you been to the thread on here "band to sleeve revisions"? there are quite a few of us on here and im sure you can read other stories about the differences between band and sleeve on there. dont be nervous... i know its scary ,i had 2 band surgeries and 1 sleeve surgery. i was scared too, but you will be so happy when you start losing weight. good luck! shaundra
  23. i definetly want in on this challenge!! SN..................Starting Wt.......Current......Goal......Lbs to Goal madisonsmom......159...............159..........140.........19
  24. hi everyone! just wanted to share what happend to me today. i had an appt monday to get my stitches out but over the last 2 days i developed a SEVERE itchy rash all over my stomach. i couldnt handle it one more second, so i called to see if i could get in today. i was in luck and got in. i had my stitches removed and all the old glue from the tape removed from my skin. the doctor also told me to use hydrocortizone. i am finally getting some relief from the intense itching and the best part is when the nurse weighed me today i was down 5 pounds since tuesday! thats 5 pounds in 3 days!!! the scale finally moved WOO HOO!!!!!!
