  1. Thanks for all the info. I started Biotin today and will look into a different multi vit.
  2. I am 4 weeks out now. I have joined a gym, walk 20-30 mins 6 days a week. Also have had 3 personal training sessions and love it. I feel so much better than I ever did before. I do a 20 min fast walk on a tread mill and then a 30 min training session. Yesterday was the 3rd and I am not even sore today:clap2: . I will say that the scales have stalled out on me and I also can feel myself falling back into old habits. I get a fill Monday the 19th and hope that will help alot.
  3. This site was a god send. I read all the web pages I could before choosing the lap band. I stumbled onto the site and I use it for any and all questions. Everyone is great and so supportive. Good luck on your banding.
  4. I am losing more and more hair each day. I am hitting my 60 gm of protien and it is still coming out. How far does it go before stopping?? I used to have lots of hair and bounce and now it is flat. :help: Thanks for listening.
  5. I had staples and bandaids. I got to shower the next day and changed the bandaids. Boy did I ever feel better after that. You just cannot soak the sites in water. Also I had to use antibactrial (sp) soap.
  6. Me too. Somethings get stuck with 2 bits and somethings go right on through. I can wait for my first fill on the 19th.
  7. I wish that I had told no one about my band. Now all I here every time I see someone that knows it is "how much have you lost". Even if it has only been 2 days. It is like they think that I should be dropping 5 pounds a day or something. If I could go back I would have just told my family and my best friend. You can just tell them that you are on a new special diet and leave it at that. That is the truth in a way. Good luck.
  8. I was banded 3.5 weeks ago and have port aches. When I am active or working. I have walked on the tread mill for 14 days straight and have now had 2 personal trainer sessions. I am not doing anything for abs yet. Not until I have no port problems.
  9. Man I know that men loose weight faster but you have me beat big time. I was banded on the 19th and am at 12 lbs. I am on regular food now just WAY less. It is amazing to see what I eat now and compare it to what I did eat. I went out to lunch with a friend yesterday. I always finish first, eat more, drink several glasses of tea or Water and have to wait for her to finish and get a to go bag. Well it was my turn yesterday. It was a 45 min lunch, I had to stop twice to let food get down and brought a doggie bag home for dinner last night and tonight!!!!!!!!!! Also I did not drink anything but a sip before and before we left. Talk about a shock. I walk at least 20 min a day and have started with a personal trainer. I thought that if I was going to pay that kind of $$ for the surgery that I needed to work out and have help getting started. I go and get my first fill on the 19th of Feb. I hope to start seeing a larger drop in the #'s. Congrats on the 30#'s:biggrin1: . That is GREAT.:clap2: Rene'
  10. I had mine done in Dallas by Dr. Wade Barker. I went through a Lap Band for less program and did not meet him but just a few min before surgery. I have done great. Only had one pain pill after surgery and it was partly do to my bad shoulder. I was self pay and with the stress test, blood work, chest xray and surgery it was $12500.00. They said that was the out of state price. Rene'
  11. I live alone. I have noticed a big difference in my bill. Also I now have leftovers. WOW. Have not seen that in along time. Rene'
  12. I am only 3 weeks out and thought I would have problems. Other than having to learn not to drink while eating and not eating too fast. I go for my first fill on the 19th of this month. I am looking forward to it!!!!! Good luck. Rene'
  13. I did not wear underwear. I thought why. I would be asleep and would not care. Thought they have seen it all. Rene'
  14. I was banded on the 19th of Jan. I have not had any fills as of yet. I already can see that the reason I am fat is not what I eat but how much. I have one scrabled egg for Breakfast now. Before band I would have 3 eggs, 2 toast and bacon. For lunch now I have about a half of cup of tuna or chicken salad no bread just the salad. Before I would have the whole can made up in to 2 big sandwiches plus chips. I am amazed on the amount of food I did eat. I can tell that I now can eat more volume than when I came home and have not lost any # for the last 5 days. I am not gaining but I know that I need a fill to get the ball rolling. I can see how people can cheat with the high calorie foods but not me. I paid too much for this and will not blow it. I have been to the gym every day this week and am up to 30 min on the tread mill. I start personal training next week. I hope that this will give me a boost. I know that I did the right surgery for me. Good luck with yours.:clap2: Rene'
  15. I was banded on Jan 19th. I have been adding different things back to my diet this week and have been PBing at least every day. I am having a hard time reading the fullness and what I can eat more of and what I can have 3-4 small bites. It gets stuck and then I spit up nothing but liquids. I guess it is not coming from my stomach. Today I coughed after I had some applesauce and some of it came out. When you get a fill does this get worse? I cannot image eating less than I am now. I got full this morning with one scrambled egg. That just amazed me. Rene'
  16. I haven't gone out to eat yet but I can just see myself bringing home a doggie bag. There is no way that I would be able to eat it all like before. I can say that I will not be doing anymore buffets. That would so be a waste of money. Rene' Banded 1-19-07 Dr Wade Barker--Dallas TX
  17. I went to Walmart today to get a few things. I can say that now one can of Soup that used to be a meal and now it is 3:) . Also not buying junk food sure is cheaper. It is so new to me to have left overs in the fridge. I have already learned when to stop eating.:hungry: I cannot image what it is going to be like when I get a fill. Rene' Down 13 lbs!!!!!!!!!!:clap2:
  18. I had my band done in Dallas. The package deal I did included a night before room and night of surgery room. They did discharge me after my procedure on that Friday but I got to stay that night as a guest. I did that for the just incase there was any problem. I am glad that I did that. I think that the 4.5 car ride home would have been a little harder. Rene' Down 13lbs so far!!!!!!!!!
  19. Well now that I am home and settled I can say that I AM BANDED!!!!!!!! It was a great trip. Went to Dallas and had the surgery on Friday the 19th. I had a small tickle in my throat and when I woke up from the sx I had a big sore throat. Other than now having a head cold I feel great. No pain meds, very little gas pains and only have sore tummy pains when I cough. Hope eveyone else goes this smooth. Rene':clap2: Happy to be banded.
  20. I am having my surgery in Dallas on Friday!!!!!! I plan to be off from the 17-30th. I will arrive on 17th, meet with Dr and do stress test on18th and then rest until the 30th. I am a Pet Groomer and have a VERY labor intensive job. Not to mention leaning over a tub:nervous . I will try to do some work on the 25th while I have a helper that day in the shop. Rene'
  21. Today was my first day on liquids. Boy it was harder than I thought it would be. I am hoping that it gets better. Does Jello and pudding count?? What about yogurt, cottage cheese, applesause??:help: Rene' Online Weight Loss Program at PhenForum.com
  22. I get banded on the 19th and today I talked to a nurse at the hospital and seems so real now!!!!! Rene' Online Weight Loss Program at PhenForum.com
  23. :update: I went to my dr Monday am do to the high blood pressure. It was 190/110 at her office. I got put on meds and Zanax 2x a day for stress. this should bring it down before next Friday my surgery date. I spoke with the guy that set up my sx and he said that would not be a factor in canceling it. He said being put under lowers it so I should be ok. I really really want to be banding and it is getting sooo close. Rene'
  24. I am having a problem with high blood pressure this weekend. I am under a bit of stress with my Blazer in the shop costing mega bucks, :faint: found out that I have to pay a admit fee for my surgery:faint: and starting the no fat week of my pre op diet. I have had BAD headache the last 2 days. Bummer weekend. Also my Dad is having a pacemaker in on the 8th. :nervous I was borderline high in Sept and now I guess it has gone over the edge. Anyone have any tips on lowering it?? I hope this will not delay my surgery date which is on the 19th!!!!:clap2: I did have a pity party for myself on Friday. I just could not help it. I am better now and am getting very excited for my banding. I am looking forward to starting my new life. Rene' 5'4" 220 Banding date 1-19-2007:biggrin1:
  25. I am so excited about my banding!!!! I just had to say that. I try not to think about it to much. Can anyone think of something that they could not do by themselves right after the surgery?? When could you pick up lets say a 10 pound poodle?? Rene' PS Also how do you get the ticker to show up???? <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wVsWHHb/"> <img border="0" src="<A href="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wVsWHHb/weight.png"></a">http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wVsWHHb/weight.png"></a>
