  1. She looks amazing!! I saw her before pics too and it was night and day. She did say she followed the bandster rules 100%. She did have some surgery which is to be expected. I plan to follow her in footsteps. I have asked her to email exactly what she did and I will post it here!
  2. Thanks Bandiva!!! I will make sure I let you know when I weigh. I think I will wait till I start solids! I don't know why I am scared. I think I don't want to be disapointed!
  3. Did anyone have trouble loggin in on saturday? I couldn't log in at all till the evening!!! I also went to a support group here in Rancho Cucamonga, and there was a girl there who inspired me!!!! She had lost 130 pounds in a little over a year and looked AMAZING!!!!!!!! She was pretty strict with her eating. She said she didn't mess around and that is why she got such good results. She had her main meal at lunch and a light dinner. She also exercised a lot.
  4. I have had to switch once like that. The way I did it is my hair stylist couldn't fit me in and I told her I needed to get it done, so I had to make an appointment with another stylist. After, i just told her that I really liked the way the new stylist cut my hair. It is part of the business.
  5. With Dr. Ortiz I get three weeks of liquids. In the beginning I used Wolfgang Pucks Gourmet broth, Better Than Boullion, drinkable yogurt, creamy Soups, Myoplex pre made protien, Vitamin Water, Kelloggs Protein water, nectar Protein powder, V8 to name some off the top of my head!!
  6. I actually posted the whole plan on this thread. If you look through the thread about a week ago, you will have it all!!! It is actually the way we are suppposed to eat as bansters and some lapband doctors actually advise it since it falls in the bandster rules!
  7. I don't regret if for a second! For the first time in my life, I am not a slave to food and dieting anymore. The peace it has brought me is priceless. I was going to do "one more diet" before getting banded, but I knew in my heart, I would gain it back, AGAIN!!!! I didn't want to play that game yet another time! GO FOR IT GIRL!!!!!
  8. Anyone have problems loggin in today, saturday? I couldn't log in all day until the evening?
  9. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  10. Congrats!!! I am having the same problems of getting enough protein and water since two weeks post op I am still very restricted. I sip all day on liquid or else I can not get the liquid in. I use cream soups with high protein like cream splite pea, soy milk in my coffee for breakfast, drinkable yogurt. I have to be eating all day to get the amounts in.
  11. Thanks!! I am drinking the Myoplex and it is pretty good. I also have the Nectar protein which is good too.
  12. Welcome to bandland!!!! I am glad you are doing okay! Get all the rest you can and don't forget to drink liquids. I went to a support group today and they were emphasizing that mamy get dehydrated which makes them hav too much restriction and then they have needed to get an unfill.
  13. WOW!!! That is great! I had origningally wanted to get my MFT but also heard like you are saying, that you have more options getting the MSW. Thanks for the encouagement. I was supposed to start back around the time of my banding, but thought two life changes at the same time would be too much for me to handle. I am supposed to start registering for classes soon and have to talk to my counselor. Do you have any other advise for me??? We have so much in common! I so excited to meet you!!!
  14. I am so happy to hear we are all having good experiences!!! You are definitely a million bucks!!! Don't forget your water or even crystal light. It will keep you from bad hunger pangs. I also bought some ScarZone to rub into my scars when they healed.
  15. I am glad I could be of help!!! What is a little extract? To add to the shake? If you are on liquid like me, I bought Suger Free Fudgsicles, V8, creamy soups, Tortila soup mix just add water, drinkable yogurt, Myoplex protein shakes, Nectar protein shakes (bariatriceating.com) in Fuzzy Navel which tastes like Tang and Strawberry Kiwi.
  16. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap2:
  17. Congrats!!! You are now in Bandland!!! I vomitted too. Did you feel like when you were vomitting, forceful gas was coming out of your mouth?? I did, but to look on the bright side, I didn't have the shoulder gas or really bad gas like I hear. I think a lot of it was expelled when I threw up twice after surgery. :clap2:
  18. You may want to edit your message and put Any swedish bansters???? The title is not clear so that is why I think no one responded. You can also do a search on swedish bands and private message them.!! Hope that helps!
  19. YEEEAAHHH! I know how you feel! I am 2 weeks post op and feel normal again. The only way I know I am banded is I can't drink more than 1 cup, even less sometimes. I never knew it would be so easy!!!
  20. You are on the right track with the hobbies. I have heard that picking up a craft that uses the hands was good. I for one ,use this site to de-stess. I also hope to use exercise as a de-stress as it releases endorphins, etc. I just need to take one step at a time to exercise like I used to. I used to love how I felt. I went to the gym the for the first time in a long time yesterday. My mom is meeting me 3 times a week to help me. I am also going to buy and Ipod and put all my all time favorite tunes to get me going. They say it takes 30 days to break or start a habit. Also, being banded is wonderful, but also like a breakup or divorce. Things will never be the same and it is hard to see that things will be better than they ever were before because we are morning. There is no going back now. Our band will keep us from going back. Don't be so hard on yourself. I love this quote "I may not be who I want to be, but thank God, I am not who I used to be". We are a work in progross. Everyday we are evolving like a catepillar becoming a butterfly. Metamorphasis is not easy and down right painful at times. If you look back, you will see how many steps you have taken in the right direction. A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. They are baby steps, but they add up!!!
  21. WOW!!!! DID I SEE 30 POUNDS LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You go girl! That is awesome!!!!
  22. I am wondering if he gave me a slight fill, I doubt it though. I am so restricted, I can't even drink 1 cup of coffee or liquid and i am 2 weeks post op. I am making an appointment for a fill at the 6 week point, but if I don't need it, I may not. I have trouble getting my calories in. I still have not weighed in either. I am scared too. I didn't lose any weight pre op. My clothes are fitting loser though. When do you go for a fill?? How are you doing? I miss talking to you!!!
  23. LBT has been a HUGE suppport to me. I found and decided on Dr. Ortiz through this site. I don't think I'd be banded and doing so well if not for LBT. It is like therapy for me. I have met wonderful people, just like me who understand me. I am the type of person who needs a daily checking in for what I am doing, accountability and having a "diet" buddy helps me tremedously. Thank you to all who answered my post and helped me along the way!!! I am eternally grateful to you all!!!
  24. You and I sound EXACTLY the same!!! I had a personal trainer too and would eat more because I was burning so much. I would eat healthy too, just too much of it since I am, or was:clap2: a volume eater. I also had a bottomeless pit! Not anymore. Bandy is making sure I get no more than 1 cup at a time even with out a fill! I cant even have more than 1 cup of coffee.
  25. Hey I think Brandy is cute!! Bandy and Brandy can be cousins!! I will start the South Beach Challenge next Saturday. That is when I start solids/mushies. Anyone can jump on in!!!
