  1. Wow, that is cool! I'd like to see! I am glad you are doing so well!!!:clap2:
  2. Thanks!!! You guys are all awesome too!!! Butts in the air, unite against gas!!!!!!!!!!:faint:
  3. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:rofl: :lock1:
  4. Yeah, take it slow! The esophagous is irritated and needs time to heal. I have heard that you should stay on liquids for 24 hours, but then Dr. Ortiz told me to just wait a few hours. I think I will do what my body tells me and I will test it first with a liquid and proceed when ready. I think I'd rather wait the 24 hours or at least 12 so I don't keep on pbing because my esophogas is irritated. Maybe some warm tea? Also, I have read that people drink aloe vera juice and that soothes the esophogas too.
  5. Not too late!! Anyone can jump in at anytime, but the official start date is this Saturday. I have the whole thing posted in this thread or you can go to my journal and get it there. You can also go to Prevention.com and gets tons of info there!!! Let's do this!!!!!:clap2:
  6. Man!!! I am sorry! The part that got me is pbing each individual bite!!! Yikes!!! What I did this morning was take my coffee and put my Gano Spirulina Oats, which comes out like a baby food consistency. I drank my oatmeal on my way to taking the kids to school. I feel very FULL. Or if I am on the run, I have my coffee with a Carnation Good Start Breakfast mixed into it and I get full. Or like you said, just take it to work. Isn't it fun having to relearn eating all over again!!!:faint:
  7. I was also reading somewhere that if you MUST snack, eat like a cheese stick or something that is a solid protein. But, water is better! OR maybe a Kelloggs Protein water!!!
  8. THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!! And you will both be VERY happy!!!! And burn calories too!!!!:clap2:
  9. I have the South Beach Diet posted on this thread, or you can just go to my journal and get it from there!!! We will be starting on Satuday!!!! What I love about it, is you detox from sugar and white flour products and after day 3 you don't really feel hungry anymore!!!
  10. Great!!!! Where there is a will, there is a way!!!! What an awesome husband!!!!:clap2:
  11. With all of that, you will be totally mentally ready and use the band, which is a tool, in the right way and have success! You still have to make good choices, exercise, etc but it is just a lot easier being banded, since you can not physically eat past a certain point. Congrats on your journey!!!
  12. HI! Would you like to join us for our South Beach Diet challenge and exercise? I am starting it on Saturday! Welcome to our little group!!!:welcomeB: Also, congrats on losing 28 pounds!
  13. To my understanging, unless you have a different 401k, I was able to cash mine out. They like to work it in a way that "seems" like you can't, but if you insist, they let me but charged me a fee and I had to pay tax out of it. But, the portion I got was still the majority of it. You may want to talk to them again and insist it is for emergency reasons. That is what I had to do once when in an emergency situation. They didn't want to and made it hard, but in the end, it was my money and they gave it to me. I hope it is the same with your situation so you can pay for your band.
  14. That is awesome Ladyleo!!! I had to refinance my house and get a second and it was worth every cent! Priceless!!!! Just like the commercials!!!
  15. The air rises!!!! When I did it, I was hoping no one would walk in on me!!!:faint: But, it worked for me! Let me know if it worked for you so it can be official! It is also an old wives tale for the gas pains that my grandmother has always told me about. She called it "petho position". Petho meaning fart position! So, I grew up on it! I never thought I'd be doing it now and telling others about granny's cures for gas! Maybe the laughing while doing it too helped! LOL:clap2:

Don't be afraid. The people that don'g lose weight are very, very few. The sad thing is, except for a few that actually have medical reasons for not losing, a lot of people want to blame the band for not working, when it is in fact, them. They eat around the band, find ways to still get too many calories in. You still need to work with the band. Make sure you are getting between 1200-1500 a day. Make healthy choices and follow bandster rules. Someone like your freind should have had gastric bypass. People need to realize the band is only a tool. If you don't work with the band, it is helpless to help you. If you try to meet the band half way, it will meet you half way. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!!!
  17. :welcomeB: I too have loved this site and think it is the best! I have found friendship, support, advice, you name it on this board. The people here are so friendly, helpful and quick to respond to any questions you have. If you are overwhelmed, just ask away, we have all just been there. It is such a major life change and too have others that understand you, to go through this journey together, is priceless. I look forward to seeing you around!!! Audree
  18. WOW! I didn't have to do a blood gas test. Sounds very painful!
  19. I hope I am full too like you were on the fish when my solids come. I didn't feel any restriction today, like I was. I kept my portions the same and ate the same amount, except I added an extra yogurt and a couple bites of hummus. Even if I don't have restriction anymore, I want to keep my calories at 1200 like I did today. I will be excited to begin South Beach because it always has curbed my appetite. We will get there together!!!
  20. Can I ask what Dr. Lopez did wrong in placing the band? How many bands had he done when he put in yours? I am just curious.
  21. Gosh! I would do it! It will be worth it in the long run. You can always consolidate it later.:biggrin1:
  22. I think the deciding factor for me would be how much the monthly payment is. Can't your husband just apply for a different type of lower interest loan in the future and pay this one off? Sometimes credit cards will consolidate loans for lower interest.
  23. I have heard that the first 6 weeks up until you are filled are about healing. If you lose during this time, it is a bonus. Most people I have seen lose between 10-15, but then gain when they add mushies and solids. This is why I have chosen not to weigh myself until I am a week into eating solids. I didn't want to torture myself. I am just going by how my clothes fit for now and they are feeling looser. I hope this helps!
  24. My heating pad helped and the walking helped. Also, the gas x. I would also bend over my pillow with the heating pad on it, kinda face in the bed, butt in the air position and the air seemed to find its way up somehow!!
  25. Kelloggs water had 5 grams of protein and 50 calories. I have tried the lemon and strawberry ones and they are both good. Sounds like you are doing really good!!!:clap2:
