My Life as a Bandster
HI!!!!!! I have heard that sometimes it takes about 2 weeks to kick in. FillCentersUSA.com does Dr. Ortiz fills. Maybe you can check in your area. How was the experience? Are you hungry or able to eat solids?

It is technically called a "diet" but goes hand in hand with the banster rules we are supposed to be following anyway!!! I also need to get my butt moving and get it in the gym!!! Welcome to our little corner of the world!!! :biggrin1:

I am sorry! My surgery was postponed too and it was hard on me. I was depressed about it. Then, I used the extra time to study as much as I could to learn about the banding and all the mental stuff that goes with it!

I am glad you are feeling better Susan. I am so afraid of PBing. I start on solids on Saturday and I am kinds scared. I don't know what to start with. Someone suggested eggs and cottage cheese to make sure I can get solids down. Do you start solids on Saturday too?

That was really nice!! I truely do feel a bond with all of you. We really are taking the journey of our lives with each other. We understand each other in that special way, that only a bandster can. I am so glad to have a group of ladies like you to come to every day and share the joy and pain with.

What kind of sauces do you use on the chicken or meat to help it go down? Do you mean like ketchup, bbq sauce, ranch dressing type sauces?

WOW! You are doing great! You sound like you will need a new wardrobe sometime in the near future! I heard there was a clothing swap on ObesityHelp.com I want to look into it. Or I will donate my clothes to like a women's shelter or something. :clap2:

Lower BMI Bandsters!
Thanks! I am glad to find out why! It makes sense. I will make sure I buy cottage cheese. Will cottage cheese pack the pouch too to keep me full longer or does it go through the band? The Morning Star sausage is really soy. Do you have problems with veggie burger type stuff? I am picky about me meats, chicken, etc. I buy organic milk, eggs, chicken, beef, etc. So, soy is a good choice for me as well as fish. I heard crab cakes are good too! I can't wait to hit Trader Joe's and Henry's (health food markets) and buy me some good protein! I used to get these veggie burgers that had pieces of actual veggies in it. I think it was called Dr. Krogers or something like that. I CAN'T WAIT TILL SATURDAY!!!! But, then in a way I am scared because I don't want to PB. I can tell my restriction has let up. I can drink my water faster and eat my soup faster without feeling restriction. Will I feel restriction again when I start on solids?

What's in a Name
My name is Audree, I am 33 years old and live in Rancho Cucamonga, California. My screen name is Babygotback because whenever I go dancing and the song "baby got back" comes on, people look at me and expect me to dance! Yes, I have a BIG booty! I have been told it looks like it is on hydrolics!:faint: Anyway, I am looking forward to toning down the booty and not being a spectacle.

I buy this coffee that is supposed to be healthy for you and this oatmeal type thing called Spirulina Oats. It is called Gano. You can get more info on Ganoexcel.com I can start my solids on Saturday. I think I am going to buy Morning Star soy sausage patties and some other healthy type proteins like salmon patties, crab patties. For some reason I don't get a mushy stage. The only thing I can figure out from that is someone told me you tend to gain when you get into the mushy stage. Maybe because it is easier to get in excess calories with mushies and they are so yummy!!! So, he has me go straight to solids. I also refuse to buy any new clothes and will just use up the stuff that hasn't fit me for so long. My surgeon told me to get ready to burn ALL of my clothes! I can't wait to go shopping and like what I see in the mirror for the first time! I also set my appointment for my first fill for Feb. 17. So, in three and a half more weeks! But, my restriction is still holding up to varying degrees. I am still keeping to the 1 cup a meal rule. I don't want to push it. I will use this time to lose as much as I can. At least I am able to get about 1000 calories in now.
