  1. Congradulations! Aren't thrift stores fun......I have been doing it for years! It just seems like a shopping spree for not a lot of dough! And there is that "thrill of the hunt" thing going on too!
  2. Why are band-haters so vicious? Don't they have anything better to do. We know people can have complications, it just seems like certain posters try to cram it down our throats!
  3. Well I think if you just take it one step at a time you will do fine. I just had my third fill, and finally have restriction. It has taken over 3 months to get here.....plenty of time to wrap your head around it. Of course coming here helps dramatically! There is just tons of info, and support, and lots of people to answer any questions you have....people who have been there and done it! So keep reading, keep asking questions, and find some mentors!:welldoneclap:

It just sounds like your too tight...I don't know. I just got my third fill and found out I can't do anything cold, and I mean not even water in the morning. It can only be hot. I could be still swollen, but when I go to take a sip of water it feels like a rock going down.....ouch! Looks like I'm going to have to be creative in comming up with lots of warm drinks in the morning. Have you tried drinking something hot before your first bite ( i think you did but can't see your post)? Is it in the mornings or at anytime? Maybe you should call your Dr. just to see what he says.
  5. Wow that is some story, I really don't know what to say except that maybe by getting the verticle sleeve your spasms would stop.....I know it seems like a lot of money, but if you think about quality of life, I think it would be worth it! So sorry for your pain!
  6. Well I just had my 3rd fill yesterday, so my Mom and I will just make our famous broccoli dish and if I can handle it I will put it in the chopper. We decided to cook the whole deal on X-mas day as there will be no gifts this year, as I am wearing it inside my tummy!:Banane04: Happy T-day All

I think it is great that you are trying something new, plus the fact that you are not trying to bullshit anyone (sorry) it is just that so many people try to be who they are not......I have told every single person I know...I don't give a rat's you know what, what they think. They are going to judge me regardless ...if I am fat or skinny, or just right! I think what I'm trying to say is that I admire the fact that you told everyone,,,and I CAN relate to that! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving:Banane04:
  8. Congradulations! you must be so proud! What a thing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!:Banane04:
  9. Stick to protien, and maybe have some mashed potatos....Everyone has mashed potatos....And remember you don't have to finish everything on your plate, and just try a small spoonful of everything. People aren't going to freak out is you don't finish everything, and they are not going to care if you don't care for something. By the time they have shovled everything into their mouths, and hit that full wall, they won;t even care what's on anyones plate....Then you could help clear the table and put thier plates on top of yours:D I learned to do that when I over booked my thanksgiving and ended up having two in one day:D Just have a happy day!
  10. Well, I just got my third fill yesterday and man-o-man, and I feel it today! I really don't know how much I have in my band, he just does the drinking test! I am on liqueds, and have to sip very slowely, as I am quite sure my tummy is swollen. I will report back when in a couple of days, and let you know.
  11. I also had no pain, I did spend the night in the hospital, and loved what they had me hooked up to.....Best sleep ever!:Banane04: I had no gas pain, no incision pain, no shoulder pain, no poopy problems either !
  12. I think they should judge it on body fat loss and not pounds:D
  13. Well hello btriger...Haven't seen you around lately, or I might have just missed your posts...I hope you have a happy thanksgiving;;;wow 33 pounds to goal.. that's reall awesome!
  14. If you get a fill tomorrow you will be on liqueds! I just got my third fill, and I will be on mushies (maybe a little mashed potatos). So you can toughen up and get the fill or call and reschedule, then you could enjoy Thanksgiving. Me, I just decided to have a complete Turkey and all the fixens on Christmas. GOOD LUCK
  15. Wecome to "bandster hell" It started for me about 48 hours after my surgery.....I was put on a straw diet, in other words anything I could fit up a straw......well needless to say I became quite creative blending up clam chowder, chilie, thinning my mashed potatos. Stuff like that, thinning my scrambled eggs with mayo, blending my tuna and adding extra mayo so it was like pudding, cause pudding you could get up a straw if you had to. You are a week out, maybe you could call the Dr.s office and see if you could advance to mushies...I've read of other people who have done that. Good Luck and hang tough!
  16. Don't worry the hunger will return Just be sure to try and get your protien down, I know you don't feel like it but you really need to. just be sure to follow the dr.s orders and welcome to band land
  17. al0vely congradulations on becoming a bandster! When I had mine done I would wake up and just grin and pinch myself, to make sure I wasn't dreaming! Remember this is a time of healing, so don't over do it! :Banane39: Be sure to follow your Dr.s orders too.... Happy banding :welldoneclap:
  18. Eating really? Most people are on liqueds for quite some time....I know I was! 4 weeks worth!
  19. Very very inspirational! You must be soooo proud
  20. Did you notice the add inside my post too?
  21. I need someone out there to tell me how to change my color and font....help!
  22. More like a thirty pound poop, once in three weeks? I don't see how that is possible! It sounds to me like she is full of it! Well I guess if she has only had one poop in three weeks SHE is full of it!
  23. Man I thought I had it bad, where in the heck do you live?
