  1. Glad it went ok for you Missnursette! Gas pain is a horrible pain but honestly, try the Gas-X strips...they work really well!
  2. Its normal to have these feelings. I was banded on the 21st and was so scared and out of my mind with worry but I am glad I went through with it and did it. I have been feeling really good and its only been a few days. I will tell you all that have not been banded yet, the first day after you come out of surgery you will feel really good.....get up and walk, it is the best thing you can do for yourself....however, be warned that the 2nd day you will feel more sore because all of the anestheia will be out of your system for the most part so you will need your pain meds but again, do yourself the favor and get up and walk! It is really worth it to have the surgery, be kind to yourself and be kind to your body! :smile2:
  3. Good for you Arlame! It is no one's busness what you are having done unless you want to tell them! You are going to do great!
  4. Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I got banded at 7:30am today and it is going pretty well so far! I am full of gas from the surgery but other than that, I am wonderful! I want to wish all of you the best of luck with your surgeries tomorrow! Tomorrow will be the first day of the rest of your lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I am so sorry you are going through this. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. How did the family meeting go? I would be interested, if you are willing to share, to know what the complications were or what happened. I know there are complications that could happen but we never hear when something bad does happen. Take care, I will say a prayer for you.
  6. I believe you can go to dlife.com for carb counts and recipes. I did a lot of chicken, no sugar, no carbs except veggies and very limited fruit...watermelon is wonderful for a low carb!
  7. I am getting nervous! I need to be at the hospital at 5:45am, surgery is at 7:30am. Depending on how it goes, I will post as soon as I can! Good Luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have come this far in our journey, we can get through this!
  8. Lizzie, thats only a week behind us, please feel free to join.....we all need all of the support we can get!!!!!!!
  9. This is going to be a great group! Look at the variety of people we have already!!!!! I am excited and nervous at the same time! Everyone say a prayer for each other and lets get this banding hurdle over with!
  10. Great Idea MissNursette! Lets all stick together! I agree! I think I will be going to GNC for these next 2 days to get their shakes, I am really not liking the Bariatric Advantage ones. I am ok with the Myoplex ones and they seem to sell those everywhere. I am having a difficult time with the protein after taste...any ideas?
  11. I am getting banded on July 21st. Have you found someone to buddy up with yet? Perhaps we could do our own 'little' group? The liquid diet that you referred to, is it the same as the protein shakes?
