My name is Danika but I prefer to be called Dani. I am 20 years old. I have a 1 year old son named Gabriel but we call him Gabe. I am engaged to the love of my life James (Jamie) =).

We will be married in September of 2011 and I hope by then to be thinner and healthier and even more beautiful in a wedding dress.

I have struggled my whole life with my weight and have had my ups and downs. At my lowest in 2005-2006 after doing the atkins diet for a year I weighed my lowest at 138. I wore a size 7-9 and was happy and healthy and proud. Unfortunetly my Doctor found this diet unhealthy and requested that I do something less drastic and more healthy. I almost instantaneously gained my weight back.

After trying a few other diets I had my son and lost my pregnancy weight with the help of slim fast and breast feeding, but I gained that all back plus 10.

I started my lap band journey in may of 2009 and have finished all of my testing. I am currently on my pre op liquid protein diet and it will last 2 weeks. My surgery is Jan 25th 2011 and I could not be more excited and anxious. I hope that everything goes well. GOOD LUCK to everyone =)
