    I feel like a jerk

Hello Kelly do not be so hard on yourself. Your band sounds like it's not thigh enough. Give it some time to work. We all are so different, I only needed a 1/2 cc each time I went in for a fill, someone els needs 2cc ect... So you will fine what works for you. Also stay away from the carbonated drinks, walk more, eat more healthy snakes for those times when you are feeling hungry 100cal snacks are so good also, drink protein shakes. And before you know it that scale will make you smell again. Good luck and keep us posted.

    Is this Common?

This is very common when your band is to thigh!! I know we use to think the tighter the better it is for us, but it's not. My first fill was to much and I had to have some taken out, I had a unfill, 2 times in my 1st year. So if you are throwing up a lot after eating, and you are eat small amounts, chewing your food well and waiting before every bite, then you need a unfill. Just have a small amount taken out loosen the band some. All the best and take care.

    Calorie counting with lap band

Hello sunnydee you have to still watch the calories intake for sure, if not it will sneak back on you before you know it. The Dr's say you can have about 700 calories a day maybe a little more for some. I try to watch everything I eat to make sure the calorie intake is not to high. GOOD LUCK

I remember going to grandma's house and smelling the aroma of a apple pie baking, I could not wait until it was done. I would eat myself sick by wanting more and more. I've made this many times and it all ways come out perfect. What a yummy pie, and so very easy! If I could give this pie 10 stars I would.. It's by far the best apple pie you will have ever make! Usually the first piece is a mess and then the juices run all over the pie pan. Not with this pie! And everyone will loved it!! Thanksgiving apple pie is a tradition in my house. 18. THIS RECIPE IS GREAT FOR ALL, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE IN THE MASH PHASE! "Our family loves these creamy and comforting potatoes. Garlic and other herbs make them so mouth-watering, I serve them just plain-no gravy is needed. For an extra-buttery taste, I'd suggest using Yukon Gold potatoes." Simmering a garlic clove with the potato infuses it with flavor. Use whatever fresh herbs you have in your refrigerator. When this is your first meal after your Lap-Band® you will feel like you are eating a gourmet meal. Hard to Keep Food Down Ater Second Fill

It sounds like you are too restricted. If this feeling keeps up , call your Dr. office and tell them you need to have some of the fill taken out. This happen to me I had reach my sweet spot and did not know it, I had the same amount of fill as always, and I was so sick nothing stayed down. I needed to have some of my fill taken out, once that happen I felt so much better. And you do not want to keep throwing up because your Band can slip that way. All the best to you.

    Update on My 5K Run!

Yea! I ran my first race yesterday, and I'm still alive LOL. Well, here is how it went. I'm all psyched, I'm pumped up - did my leg stretches. It was a chilly morning, and I dressed appropriately. There had to be 1,000+ people there. A lot of them had costumes on, I did not. The start horn went off, and people started whizzing past me like the wind! The course was laid out so that you would run to the end, then turned around and come back. As the 1,000+ people started passing me, lol, I think I had run about 1/4 mile, when the first few people started passing me on the way back! I started muttering under my breath - oh crap, how did they do that? - but I kept on going. I persevered. I walked some, ran some, and do'nt think that these thoughts did not occur to me - to sit on the side for a while, then start running back in the other direction without going to the end, or taking a taxi! But I decided I had to do this the right way, no matter how long it took me. While I was running, I got so hot, I started stripping the layers of clothing off! (Actually, I would have no problem walking this distance, because I'm a walker, not a runner). So now, I complete the course and I'm heading back to the finish line, and my husband and a lot of other people are cheering me on and taking pictures of me as I am crossing the finish line. What a great feeling it was to actually complete this!!! So now let me tell you where I placed in the race. I came in fifth (er..., fifth from the last lol). But this was not bad at all - it was wonderful! I never thought I would be able to finish the race, and I thought that even if I did finish, I would be last! I finished the 5K course in 47 minutes and 41 seconds. So this is another thing I have done that is now off of my bucket list! A year ago, there is no way I could have even thought of doing this. Way to go, lap-band®!:thumbup::tongue::thumbup:
