    Whats everyone eating??

I was banded 31st of Dec and yes, you do eat a lot less. I was throwing away food because I put too much on my plate which was hard to do because this fat girl had in her mind to eat everything on her plate. It took a while but I am finally just putting a spoonful of food on my plate and when it is gone, I am full. Down 55 lbs and I do not belong to the gym yet because of a bad foot at the moment. When I get exercising I am hoping to loose a lot more but I am happy with a pound a week right now. Eating too fast and that stuck feeling is very painful. First time it happened to me I thought I should go to the ER because it was such a different feeling but you get to know when it is going to happen and know enough to stop eating and get up and walk. Good luck to you and think skinny, Judy

    The New Beginning... Again!

Good luck to you and yes, you will be excited to loose that weight again but this time it will stay off...........right???? I give you a lot of credit starting over again after all that stress. Stress does the same thing to me, I want to eat and eat. Again, good luck to you. Judy

    Emotional eating win!

So sorry regarding your Grandma but congrats that the food did not win. Funny how our band is making our minds think different. Death of a family member or friend is the worst stress there is but there are many other stressful things we go thru and food was always comfort for me but not anymore. Your doing good, keep up the good work.

    Fabulous Friday!

So happy for you and when those clothes start getting too big, that is another great, wonderful feeling. My new pants, just one size smaller are getting to big for me which is cool but not cool for the pocketboook.

    The After Math

Congrats to you on your journey. I feel bad about the gas pains, I did not get any of that. When the hunger pains come, just remember to eat a little bit and you will be surprised how fast you fill up. My band is working really good for me except for last week when I talked the doctor into give me a full cc and had to go back the next day and had some taken out. But that is in the future for you but keep that in mind. Good Luck to you. Judy
  7. I hope you are feeling better for your fill on Tuesday. Maybe they took 8cc our of my full cc, I can still feel the restriction. Next my doctor tells me that I should not get the full cc, I will listen....LOL Feel better, Judy

  8. Hi Ellenmarie, I am here with my tail, if I had one, between my legs. I had to go yesterday and they took out 8cc's. I could not even keep my spit down. So I found out one lesson, after a fill your band DOES tighten up more after 24 hours of the fill. Now I am back down to 5.1cc and won't get another fill until 5 weeks. At least I am not slimming which I did for 3 hours. I was a ...

  9. Well I got my full cc and maybe I should not have. I am gurgling the liquids down and not much of them. Took over an hour to get yogurt w/my medicine down this morning and could only take about 8 sips of my protein shake 4 hours later. But I feel great and going to prove to that doctor that it was ok to give me my 1cc. Now I am at 5.9cc and I think it will be enough. Judy

    Picking myself up again

Now this was a nice post. If I can do it so can you. Yes, the weight goes off slowly but at least it is going off with your new tool. Good luck to you. Judy

    No motivation...ugh

OK, I read your blog and now you have put your feelings out there and have fallen down. Now, get your butt up, brush yourself off and get motivated again. 31 pounds, that is a lot of weight and you can do another 31 lbs so please don't give up. Think positive. Think of what you had to do to just get the band. Like Frelance said, you knew it was not going to be easy to get this weight off but I know you want it off because you would not have gone thru all of that stuff just to get the band. I am a Mom so see me pointing my finger at you and lecturing you and begging you to get motivated again. You can do it. Judy
  12. Time for another fill tomorrow. Hoping to get a full cc this time. I do have restriction but I do have hunger pains. Finally got past the 50lb mark and now I can say 52 lbs Yeah for me. Long ways to go but I will get there. Hope all is good with you. Judy

I am still trying to slow down eating

That stuck feeling is the worse. My anxiety comes up and I can not talk and just keep taking deep breaths because if feels like I won't be able to breath. I scared myself and my husband. I would rather have the slimming because that tells me to stop eating...LOL I am taking one day at a time and so should you. good luck on your journey and I am one of the lucky ones that don't have to eat anyplace but home. Cause I am old and retired. Judy

My Favorite F word is Friday (and other nonsense)

You said it, this band is NOT the easy way out. If you had the stuck feeling, yes you should be scared to over eat. Next time you put the wrong thing in your mouth, think about the pain you went thru. At one point, I ate too much and I laid in bed with a bowl under my mouth and was drooling in the bowl because I could not swallow my spit because of the over eating. Don't want to do that again. You can do it, just think before stuffing the wrong stuff in your mouth. Let your band work for you. I am down 52lbs since my surgery on Dec 31st and I am happy about that and I am even old. Judy

My Lap Band is not working anymore

I am a newbee because I was just banded on 31st of December but found it is a mind game too. Yes, I have restriction and yes, I do get hungry pains but I find that I can only eat a little. I have lost 52 lbs as of today. Today is my weigh in day. So get that mind in set that you want to loose the weight and your band will work for you. They say drink lots of water, well not fo rme. I don't like water but with my shakes and soups I eat, I guess I am getting enough liquids. Set you mind to loose that weight and you sure will feel better. Good luck and hope this comment helps. Judy
  16. I was craving pizza so I used breakfast turkey sausage and put it in pizza sauce which went in a pie dish with lots, lots, and lots of cheese on top. Baked it in the oven and had pizza with NO bread. It was great and I did not want anymore pizza. Judy

Almost 2 years and I am struggling

OK, you two. I am going to be 60 this year and was banded on Dec 31st which makes me a newbee compared to you two. Now that you have fallen down, pick yourselves back up and get you fill and heck with those nurses. You each are a bigger person than either of them. Hold your head high and get back to letting your band help you loose weight. As far as the acid reflux, I have found the tighter my band gets the less acid refux I get. Matter of fact, I am off my nexium now. I am with you both. I would eat when I was depressed, happy, nervous, etc but yes, I have only had my band for just a short time but it is a life change so get back on track and watch your weight come off again and shoot for that goal. I am writing this to be your friend and open your eyes. Like some skinny people say that getting the band is the easy way out and those people are fools. This has been the hardest thing I have ever done but I refuse to give up even though it has only been a short time. Remember all what you went thru to get banded and keep reminding yourself of that. OK, that was my lecture for the day and I hope it helped a little bit. Don't give up, your health is very important and if it makes you feel better, tell those nurses what is on your mine and do some complaining to them on how they treat you. Judy

    About me

I had my surgery on Dec 31st and I will be 60 this year. You are right, who would cheat on this after going thru everything that we had to do before we got the surgery. You think like I do. I am down 50lbs and have stayed there for about 2 weeks now but I am not discouraged. I just keep watching what I eat and how much. I feel great and love the idear that I can put my shoes and socks on so much easier. Good Luck with your journey. From another not so young person, Judy

    Everlasting Stuck Episode

You poor thing. I have had one vomit experience with the acid reflux and it hurt. It was a Ritz Cracker that was stuck and made my food after eating two hours of eating the cracker, NOT go down. I did the liquid and mushies for a couple of days also and my band and I do get along now. You having your band over a year and this was your first time means you have done real good with your band. I have only had mine for 4 months. Good Luck to you and hope you get better and the two of you start to get along again. That stuck pain and the chest hurting is such a scarey feeling. Judy
  21. The stuck feeling comes on you very fast but leaves just as fast. A burp or the gurgling sound will give you relief. This is not the easy way out like most people think. You just have to know what you can and cannot eat. Learning experience. You will do find and think skinny. I just bought a new pair of jeans that is 2 sizes down from what I was wearing and I feel sexy at almost 60. LOL

  22. I am almost 60 year old and I have lost over 50 lbs. I feel great about that. I still am learning what to eat. Ritz Crackers was the worst stuck feeling for me. I laid in bed with a bowl under me just drooling because I could not put anymore spit in my stomach. Sorry I am saying it in detail. Finally some white stuff came up while standing at the stink and I felt great again.

  23. I am surprised you are staying in the hospital that long. I went home the same day. Had my done the 31st of Dec and I have told hardly anyone myself. For me it was a personal decision and no one needs to know. Good luck and expect some down days but there will be more up days. Funny thing, food will not be the most important thing in your life after surgery. Judy

    12 weeks - 28.6lbs gone since sugery.

Congrats for getting under the 200 pound...........I started at 267, not far from yours, and working to see under 200. I did have to go buy a pair of pants one size smaller because my other ones were too big and I felt very uncomfortable in them.........LOL Too big...thats a first for me.

    Starting over after pregnancy...

I have 4.5 cc and I don't feel any restriction unless I eat too much then it is tight. I can eat a whole can of soup but last night when I was eating my fish and green beans..........wow, I sure could feel it. I think it depends on what you eat. Give it time and think skinny. Judy
