I'm 5 days postop and I just started Protein Shakes today. I have no idea what any of the feelings I'm getting are. Are these rumbles in my stomach gas or hunger? Am I hungry or do I think I'm hungry? Is this what full feels like? We are learning our bodies right now. Try and stay calm and focused. Do what your doctor told you.. use is as your training manual! We are being trained and reprogrammed to learn how to live our lives not around food anymore. I've been staying away from anyone who is cooking for that reason. I don't want to be tempted to do something I shouldn't and I also want to say focused and keep my momentum going. You can do this! I have faith in you!!

Learn to use the word Friend with caution and very wisely!! Because Those People we call friends may be the same ones just plotting, and waiting for your downfall or Hoping you will Mess Up with your Weight-Loss!! They Just Don't Tell You!! But Deep In Their Minds Jealousy Consumes Them!!
I Use the word "acquaintance"!! People I just Know!! But I call God my Father and Jesus My Best Friend Because!!

I too feel like people who don't know about it think its the "easy" way out. On the contrary, it is a lifelong commitment and a HUGE step towards a healthy life. It is not easy. I was so upset with my husband for telling his family. They are so judgmental and feel they know everything about everything. No matter what my progress is they will always say "well she didn't do it on her own". I think its my story to tell when I am good and ready. You tell your story when and to whom YOU choose! I agree!! I hate them. It does sound fake.

i can speak from experience that i let (everything) people say or think affect me.. when i had surgery, i told some friends i work with and my hub...i was concerned slightly that my co workers would think, man are you that lazy to eat right that you need surgery? you fat cow, whats wrong with you? what was wrong is i was killing myself...but it has saved my life...i have no doubt.
i am doing this for me. dont like...deal with it

I did not tell anyone...other than the closest family members that needed to know....
As far as SOCIAL STIGMA'S
I am as thin...MORE THINNER than most people around me....I am MORE PHYSICALLY FIT than most people I know...and if I consider my age group that is a very small fraternity...
Social Stigma's??? I have to chastise myself when I observe Obese People trying to get out of a car, or huffing and puffing simply from walking......and I do ask myself WHY DON"T THEY DO SOMETHING.....
Which Social group would you rather be in??? I don't make any excuses for turning, no check that......SAVING MY LIFE.......
EASY way out? SO WHAT......yes, for me it was the easiest thing I could have ever done (after hitting the Green Zone, first 4-6 months was hard) but dieting....now that was hard...so hard in fact I could not do it and failed numerous times, each time I failed it LOWERED my self esteem.........but what does that matter to anybody but myself and those closest to me.....

I think I must be a private person. Just like I dont share my marriage, financial, or family issues with acquaintances, I don't share my medical issues either. I probably wouldn't have made up an excuse of why I was having surgery. That just sets you up for people to question you in the future if they find out the truth. You can use your time off without having to explain or justify it to anyone! I don't like to give people the opportunity or reason to have me the topic of their conversations.

ABSOLUTELY!! I asked the same thing after my surgery on January 30th. Day 4 was my turn around day when I started to feel better about it. On day 2 I even told my husband "if I had it to do all over again, I would NEVER have done this!". I am sooo happy that going back in time is not a possibility....lol! I am down 18 pounds and feel great!! Hang in there. It DOES get better....I promise!!

I had one too without knowing. Doc fixed it so hopefully that is that. Don't know where it came from, but I have given birth to 4 children and I am always lifting heavy things so who knows. Just glad its fixed. :-)

I was banded on January 30th and have been on clear then full liquids. Dr. Says I can move to mushies if I am hungry, but I haven't been so I am staying where I am for now. So today I was making Tomato Soup for my son and decided to have some.....oh my goodness....it was heavenly!! I never noticed how good it was before. Things seem to have more flavor now. My mouth was literally watering between tiny sips!! :-)
