sugar free popcicles!! and if you have a Rita's Italian Ice place near you, the pink-lemonade sugarfree icee is very good! i'm eating that right now! I found that i liked the turkey and vegetable broth after i got sick of the sight of chicken broth! LOL! and.... hot tea w/Splenda really filled me up for a few!! sip slowly!!! - pretend its a starBucks or something fancy!!! i dont like jello, even when i'm not on a diet, but you might like all their new SF flavors....
  2. I went to the doctor Friday (not my LAP-BAND®® Doc). Since this was the same office that I logged my start weight in, during my office visit for my pre-approval process, I decided to step on the scale (when no one was looking!!) ....aaaaannnnnd..... I AM DOWN 16 POUNDS!! at first it didn't hit me. I just hopped off the scale and back on the table before the doc came in.....but then the pants and shorts that I wore this w/e were VERY loose!! they didnt fit anymore! wow! i reached for a BELT!! never thought I'D be so happy to need a belt!!! this is just what I needed to shake the "discouraged mode" that I'd been in!! I go to my LB Doc Monday (6/28) so I am being VERY deligent about counting my calories, logging my food and doing my exercise------> everyday!!! I hope to be down even more by the time I weigh in at his office!! :smile2::thumbup::laugh:

at 2 months post-op I dont feel like i've lost anything! I look at other's succcess and think "how the heck did they loose 50-80-90 pounds in 6 months??" So I started a food diary. Everything I'm eating is "band approved".... and I'm certainly eating much less than I was before BUT I am still WAY over my calorie allotment....like 1500-1600 instead of 900-1200!! my shakes and protein shots are even high in calories!!!:sneaky: what gives? so, I'm going to have to cut WAY back, which means I'm going to be starving everyday, which means I need another fill!! I'm already at 8.25 w/only my 2nd fill and going even higher so early really worries me....
  5. thank you for the "tips" ... I started a food diary this weekand did notice that although its much less than what I ate Pre-band, and although everything i eat now is "band approved" and healthy, I am still taking in too many calories!!!
  6. i know this post is old but i just read it today and the spicey/no water part is really funny! :-) thnx for making me laugh!

I'm 2 months post op and i doubt i've lost anything....I read other post where ppl have lost like 80-90 pounds w/in the first 6 months!! I cant imagine loosing that much over he next 4 months! any advise??
  9. WOW! you've lost so much in such a short time!!! congrats on that!!! im worried b/c i'm two months out and i doubt i've lost any weight! you lost like 90 pounds in the last 6 months since your surgery.....I cant imagine loosing 90 pounds in the next 4 months!!! :mellow:what else did you do to loose weight? (besides the surgery) THNX for sharing -J
  10. :thumbup:yes! absolutely i would do it again! BTW-my surgery was on a tuesday. i stayed home 3 days then went back to work w/no problem!!!
  11. Laura - that sounds funny-------> how did you get a "fill" the first time if you "got nothing"? just curious. best wishes on your journey.....:sigh: re: "ljmarti6;1479190]My first fill I got nothing, on my second fill I had 2 cc's. It does seem like a lot however, with that said, everyone is different. I have heard of some having way too much and having to have it backed off. Hope he is well."
  12. my fills are first thing in the morning. i cant hv anything to eat or drink after midnight the day before.... you might want to call your doc and ask...
  13. i dont even get to eat at all on the day of my fill!!! :'(
  14. yup! never thought I'd be so happy to see "mush" in my life! that clear liquid stage is TORTURE!!!!
  15. my first fill was 3.25 and i felt nothing. my 2nd fill (3 weeks later) was 5cc-but my doc says that was a recordfor him! i'm at 8.25 now. just started my "mushies" today and i feel fine. no problems....
  16. is it too far for you to just drive and GO in to the office? that way you could talk to someone in person to make the appointmnet. dont give up!!!

a safety pin??! WOW! that is fantastic! I can appreciate that right along w/you!
  18. whoo-hoo! keep going! I'm right behind you....so if you keep going you will keep me going!!!! thank you!
  19. eeeeewwww! snakes?! YIKES! i'm with you on the tredmill!! LOL! i did my tredmill today but now you've given me the idea to go to the park a well! my park has some wacky geese but no snakes!!! :-)
  20. i just posted about this today!! every doctor seems different!! after my fills, I have to do clear liquids 3 days, then stage I (straw diet) for a WEEK! stage II (mushie diet) for another WEEK! then stage III ("advanced mushies") for another week!! then introduce "normal food"/stage 4 the week after that!!! so basically, each fill takes a month out of my life!!! :waytogo: I'm "suspicious" too! I think my doctor is on the extreme side and he's just "tricking" me into staying on a strict diet to help me loose weight. ... I think basically, you should do what ever YOUR doctor tells you to do
  21. yes, i count my shakes as a meal - especially b/c of the calorie count. I also blend in 4-5 ice cubes, a small yogurt and some times a banana. then i pour it into my tallest reusable coffe mug w/lid from DDs and leave it in the freezer until i'm walking out the door. That way, i can drink it "like coffee" in the morning...in the car or at my desk at work. Works like a charm!!
  22. technically, i believe you would have to pay the difference... BUT a lot of times doctor will charge "a lot" but iin the end, accept what ever the insurance company's max is and NOT charge you the difference. .... *This is just my observation. Not trying to be an insurance expert (i saw where another member "blasted" someone for giving "insurance advise". so, i thought i'd throw in that disclaimer

i disliked the psych eval the worse of all my pre-approval requirements. my psych turned out to be "shady" i only went to him once but he billed my insurance company for several visits, plus collected a co-pay from me! I happened to notice it and told on him! he had to send the $$ back!!! i'll bet your psych just wants you to come in so he/she can charge for another visit!!! as long as you have realistic expectations of the surgery, then you're fine! dont worry
