  1. @finallyncontrol...WOW! 92 pounds! congrats on that!!! I agree-I'm doing it b/c I want to loose the weight! I'm just being curious as to the "why" part! LOL! thnx
  2. my husband nor I have cheated on each other. I LOVE to be "intimate" and he is WONDERFUL "in bed" .... I also love him. so I've got no need to go anywhere else....
  3. thnx... i love smoothies...maybe i'll try this.
  4. I went to the site and made a weight loss tracker. I have the code. ...but I cant figure out how to post it to my profile. can anyone help? Thank You
  5. WOW! you guys have me either scared or excited!!! I weighed 238 the week before I was banded. My band was 4/27 and I went to the Doc 1 week later for a post-op follow up. I was down 11 pounds but i didnt count that as "real" weight loss. I just figured not eating anything but jello and SF ice pops for 7days- and vomiting the first 3 of those days- would take 11 pounds off of anybody-not just a bandster!! LOL! I dont get weighed again until 6-28....I dont really "feel" like I've lost anything So..... compared to you guys, I'm either failing miserabley or in for a real treat / pleasant shock on 6/28.....
  6. I am not doubting that I should follow the doctor's orders...Ive just always been the kind of person who wants to know "WHY?" After each fill, I have to do 3 days of clear liquids, followed by a week of stage I, then a week of stage II, then a week of stage III!!! this is the part that I absolutely H#TE the most about my whole L'band experience!! starting over each time w/the liquids etc, takes 3-4weeks out of my life and it takes that long for me to even see if the fill even worked. Then I read some posts that say they stopped for a shake or even food on the way home from their fill!!! (no "fair" for me!! ha! ha! :mad2:) I follow MY Doc's rules b/c I'm committed to this but I think that if I knew WHY the food progression, I would maybe "h#te" it a little less ....so can anyone tell me the MEDICAL and/or SCIENTIFIC reason for the food progression after each fill?? I mean medically speaking not just "b/c my Doc said so"...WHY did he say so??:frown:
  7. how can it be that "the rules" are SO SO different from Dr. to Dr.??? i can't have creamed soup but somebody else can....one Dr says "ok" to soda, gum, and fruit juice but another says "no way!" How can it be that there is no consisteney or regulations?
  8. i was allowed egg drop on stage two or three. it is not considered "clear"....

I had this problem. I purchased a stomach binder and that helped. Also, i found relief by laying on a pillow on my stomach.

i couldn't open the pix but i do agree with the liquid diet being WAY worse than any scars or any little pain!!! :-)
  11. oh my goodness! Milk is NOT my friend! i added a few ounces to my cream soup (which i'm not really allowed to have - the soup that is) and about 4 hours later, I was doubled over in pain!! :bored: gas cramps!!! (sorry for the TMI!!!)

my home scale broke when we moved (2 years ago). my bathroom is so small that i never replaced it - b/c i have no room for it! i only weigh in when i go to a doctor's ofc. i try to judge my weight loss by the way my jeans fit (doesnt seem like i lost anything). I'm afraid to weigh-in and be disappointed b/c Im kind of a perfectionist and i might give up if i havent lost any weight! i go to my Doc june 28th...... i'll see then....I can start on my "mushie/straw" diet tomorrow. so i should be able to tell if i feel any restrictions then.....
  16. congratulations on your baby in the belly!!! and happy b'day to your princess!!!

my 1st fill was 3 weeks ago...i got 3.75 cc but felt NO restrictions!!! I WAS STARVING!!! today the doc put in another 5 cc (which he said was a "record" all at once)....that brings me up to 8.75 w/my 2nd fill!!! I'm on liquids right now and everything is going down fine... i hope! hope! hope! that i feel some restrictions when i start my mushies & food! [my surgery was 4/27... i have a 11 capacity Realize band.... I havent weighed in yet....] I can't "weight" to start loosing weight!!

I had a hiatal hernia too! didnt even know it until i woke up from my banding surgey. turns out the doc fixed it while he was "in there" and i didnt even know the difference!!! he called it a "bonus" :-)

This really is NOT easy!! Trust me! One thing I will say is that the process is widely misunderstood. I read about "banders" that wished they had NOT told a bunch of people what they were doing. I didn’t tell anyone other than my husband. I am glad I didn’t! It is not a "quick easy instant miracle cure". The band doesn’t even start to "work" until maybe 3-5 adjustments in / 3-5 months. In the beginning, it’s just determination and willpower honestly. Like you, I thought I could just follow the diet restrictions etc too, and skip the surgery. I tried.... but w/o the threat of doing harm to my band (requiring more surgery!), if I went off my restrictions, I just ate whatever... I was just banded April 27. I've only had my 1st adjustment. I haven’t even weighed in yet. I don’t think I've lost more than anyone would w/regular dieting... but I do think once I get my proper adjustment (sweet spot) I will be on the road to size 6! (Or at least a 8! smile) When is your surgery??
