  1. Tonight will be salmon and mashed yams. Using spray butter on the yams makes it really good.
  2. That sounds really yummo! Can u post the recipe please? I would love to make that.
  3. I make my shakes with water, crystal light, and decaf coffee. Milk doesn't agree with me very good.
  4. zeniada I do find if I leave it whole and zap it, it has a better flavor. But that's just me. I haven't started eating it yet, and can't wait until I can.
  5. Does the decaf tea or coffee I drink go towards the 64 oz of water we are supposed to drink a day? I generally have 1 cup of coffee a day and cup of tea once or twice a week.
  6. I love steamed mashed cauliflower and have eaten it for years. Steam WHOLE cauliflower in microwave until soft, do not add water. Add ff spray butter and mash or blend until mushy. LF sour cream is good too. It tastes better steamed whole so u can get the full flavor. :wink2:
  7. I think after the 4th or 5th day it finally left. I did take some GasX finally, and wish I had taken it earlier. It's not like flatulence, it is more like pains in the left shoulder and stomach areas. I am 9 days out and it's been a while since bothering me. I am still sore on my insides from the Dr maneuvering things around. Feel good otherwise.
  8. For lunch... eat 2-3 oat crackers, ww english muffin or half of toasted whole wheat bagel with either humous, pate, melted camerbert cheese, cream cheese, fried (use Pam) or scrambled egg & Peanut Butter (sometimes combine 2 / 3 accompliments). Egg salads. Buy all low fat of course. Go here and find some recipes u may like: theworldaccordingtoeggface
  9. I met with the Dr yesty and he said I was doing great and moved me up to mushy foods finally! It was my first day to really go anywhere all day long. I carried my protein shake in a cooler with ice. The Dr is a good hours drive from home. We ran errands and I stayed in the car if I got too tired. Felt good to get out again.
  10. I was banded on the 6th also, and about the 5th day I started feeling like myself and haven't looked back. The Dr and dietitian gave me a menu to eat EVERY HOUR. I thought that was a mistake, but after checking with them they said it is correct. Something like, protein shakes, 4 a day, (4-6 oz), sf jello, broth, diluted cream soup, decaff teas, popsicles, ff sf choc pudding, 'soupy' cream of wheat or oatmeal, Crystal light, ff sf yogurt. I think that is why my energy returned quickly. I've been going for walks and that helps. Don't forget to drink lots of water. It helps. Good luck.
  11. You can add it to almost anything, add it to Jello when making it. Add to choc pudding when making it. Or add to diluted cream soups. I am still on liquids post op so that is why I suggest those.
  12. @ cristy906 Gosh, I hope everything turns out ok, I hate it that u have to go thru it all again. Bummer, but u can do it. It's just a small bump in the road. Good luck.
  13. Whew! Today is the first day of feeling normal and not like I just had surgery. Only 1 small episode of gas,. I even drove to bible study down the road and I am back to feeling good! Hope it lasts.
  14. I am 5 days out, and have a bottle with me constantly, but small sips will never amount to 64 oz a day. I love drinking water, but impossible to get down 64 oz.
  15. Is everyone drinking 64 oz a day of Water? I am supposed to drink 64 oz of water a day and I can barely get my Protein and other stuff down let alone 64 more oz of water!
  16. I am 5 days post op and am allowed 4-6 oz of cream soup diluted thinly w water. I chose creams of celery, mushroom, chicken. It must be strained of any chunks. I would not be eating cup o soups.
  17. Yeahhh, lots of good recipes. Thanks.
  18. Is it where the port is? And how have u been keeping them clean? I was told to simply wash them when showering (no tub) and pat dry and do not rub. And not to put anything on them. I can't tell they are even there. Four days post op.
  19. Thanks Carmen, another good suggestion. I will do it right now and keep it up more often. That's why I love this forum. Lots of good ideas. Bandsters caring for fellow bandsters. :puke: BTW...how often did u use it?
  20. Ditto on the gas with the hysterectomy, been there. I remember walking down the halls doubled over from that. I started taking Gas X today and will see if it helps any. You would think the Dr would add GasX to my shopping list before surgery. I will see him this week and throw that at him.
  21. Goodness, what did the Dr do to fix it?
  22. Day 4 post op and the gas is making me crazy! I walk uphill, downhill, up and down my looong driveway, up and down the stairs, in circles inside the house, about 10 times a day and still am in so much pain. Hurts to breathe. Never dreamed that would be such an issue. :puke:
  23. I was banded on the 6th and the menu they sent home with me is a puzzle. Or maybe my brain is a puzzle. I have a liquid meal (shakes, jello, broth, etc) every hour. Of course I drink slow, so when does drinking water fit in here? I am so full I can't fit it all in.
  24. @ cristy906 I am 2 days out and still have the gas in my chest also. Walked a few times outside, but still have it. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
