  1. Stay positive. you are doing great. It took me 5 fills to reach my sweet spot as of last week. i am at 9cc right now and feel great. I may be a little hungry in the morning but after my coffee and protein shake, I am good for about 4 hours. Eat your protein first and veggies last and you will stay fuller longer. It took us a long time to put on this weight and it wont come off overnight. It has taken me some months to reach this philosophy. Each day is a new day. If I screw up there is always the next day to do it over again the right way. Now I just need to start exercising on a regular basis. Stay strong I know you can do it.
  2. Yep sounds like you were stuck. I get that and then some back pain also. Chicken is my best meat to get down. Steak is a no no and hard boiled eggs are a no no also. I just had a fill and now I can no longer eat peanut butter unless it is spread very thinly on a cracker. Every time I get a fill each food is different. But I love my band. This is the first time in my life I have lost weight and kept it off.
  3. That is so wonderful. Congrats! You give me great hope. We seem to have started at the same weight. I had surgery late august of 2010. I down about 50lbs and loving it. I love this band.
  4. That is so wonderful. I am super happy for you!!!!! Congrats.
  5. Im at about 8.5cc. I have great restriction and can go about 4-5 hours without being hungry. Im losing at a steady rate. Hope this helps.
  6. Wow that is amazing! Congratulations...you must be so proud of yourself as you should be. Im half way there cant wait to say the same thing. That is a great holiday present to yourself.
  7. I have BCBS IL PPO and it took about 2 1/2 weeks to get the approval. I had to do a 3 month supervised diet before hand.
  8. I was really tired about 2 days preop and for about 7-9 post op. It does gradually lessen every day. Best decision I ever made. I would do it over again in a second. I had lapband done at the end of August and feel great.
  9. Hey Fayfaye....Your going to love Dr. Watkins. He was so sweet and gently. He called me the night that i came home from surgery to make sure every thing was going well. I go to oakbrook for my fills! Keep in touch let me know how things go for you
  10. I had mine done in Oakbrook with Brad Watkins.. Best decision I have ever made. Im down over 40lbs since July. I had surgery at end of August. Ive had about 4 fills and feel awesome right now at 8.5 cc. I get full fast and stay full for a long time. somewhere around 4-5 hours. .
  11. That is so awesome. Congratulations. I cant wait to join you. I am going to do the happy dance all the way through my town, when I reach that goal
  12. I have the 14cc band. I am at 3.5cc right now after 3rd fill. I have very good restriction. losing about 2-3lbs per week, which works for me. I can get stuck on a hard boiled egg if I dont chew well enough. So far I haven't pb or slimed but i am waiting for that special time. LOL
  13. I am addicted to that scale right now. lol. Congrats on the 1lb... each lb is a victory for sure. I just went thru a waiting period myself just not quite as long but scale finally started moving again. Im sure it will start moving for you now too....
  14. I just had my first fill on Tuesday. I had 2cc put in. I feel a little fuller faster but I get hungry less than 3 hours later. Bandster Hell. At least the fills are basically pain free . Good Luck cf0674f8-1e45-49b0-aa96-e372d0187f68 1.03.01
  15. carolwright.com sells ring guards really cheap that might work for you.
  16. I was told walking and wii exercise was ok but no abs for 6 weeks and no elliptical either.
  17. Thanks for info! Im not a big fish fan but i do like fish sticks. I buy the Gortons which see to be the best with fat and carb content. Do you think those would be ok?
  18. Hello all...I move to solid food in about 6 days "yay" just wondering what the first solid food should be? I am already able to eat hard boiled eggs mushed without any problems.
  19. It is very common to be depressed after this type of surgery. I was banded 8/16. I am 2 weeks out today. I do seem to get a little depressed here and there. I printed pictures out of dresses and cloths that i want to wear when I slim down. I also started a scrap book of all the things I want to do once I start losing some weight. Like go back on roller coasters.. This helps me so much.
  20. I am so happy for you and your husband. This is the hardest journey I have been on in a long time. This is not the easy way out. People will always judge you on something. This is a healthy choice and a smart choice. No way is this the easy way. I love coming here to the forums to get my support. I have heard both negative and positive feedback from my family. I eat up the positive feedback and ignore the negative. This was my choice and I feel great just knowing im on the road to success!!! Yay for us.
  21. Good luck!!! Glad your surgery is early, mine wasnt until 1pm and due to the doc running behind ended up at 2pm. The nurses were apologizing for ordering lunch around me. lol. Everything will go great for you. let us know how thing progress.
  22. After doing a bunch of research i really do agree with you Btrieger...my dh also agrees. i paid 2100 deductible for surgery i think a couple hundred more is gonna be so worth it. I found that QVC has a great deal right now so im going to order it and join the bodybugg groupies lol.
  23. I did alot of research on this site for my surgeon. I went to 2 separate consults with different surgeons. I went with the surgeon who made me the most comfortable and had the best reviews. good luck
  24. Glad to here you doing pretty well Angera. I go back to work tomorrow. I have a desk job doing Tech. support so should be pretty straight forward. i was banded 8/16..still on mushes so looks like soup for lunch..
  25. Thanks for info everyone. I have found that the Gowear fit is made by same people that make body bugg and is around the same price for the armband and watch..Im going to invest in one as the reviews are great for bodybugg. thanks again.
