  1. The first few days home I lived off water and Cranberry juice. I could hardly get down the clear Isopure's (I did not like the taste). I took naps and really rested up. My first "food" was grits...thinned out w/milk. If you can make a smilie face in your applesauce or grits it is too thick. I also enjoyed Cream of Chicken soup, tomato soup, sugar free pudding, and non-fat, plain yogurt. Then, on the pureed diet I bought myself a small little food processor ($10). It holds about 1 cup of food. If I could blend it to baby food consistency I ate it. I would cook for the family and then puree my portion. I had meat loaf, chicken, ground beef. I found I really craved protein. The soft diet was fun because I could finally chew again! I just cooked for the family what I needed to eat. Fish, chicken(dark meat) and ground beef. And soft veggies. Take a deep breath! You can do it.
  2. My Dr. found the port easily (feeling around on my tummy) and then he cleaned and numbed the skin. I did not feel any pain after that, just pressure as he inserted the needle. I could "feel" it when he made contact w/the port. It was all over really quick. Then I was in the waiting room sipping on an 8oz bottle of water. Once I had the water down with no complications, I was out the door. I do feel like I've swalled one of my sons little bouncy balls. Like I have something stuck in my throat. I'm on liquids for 36 hrs. I'm sipping on a protein mix now. It's taking me 20-30 mintues to get it down. Nice and slow and easy.
  3. That is so awesome! Way to go.
  4. My day is Friday too! Good Luck and a speedy recovery to everyone.
  5. I'm so excited! I'm the first surgery of the day w/my Dr. 7am baby......wish me luck!
  6. I am so glad this thread is on here!! I go in for surgery in 2 days and all I own is underwire. Now I know to pack something different to come home in. Thanks girls! P.S. Love the "sling shot" image....that's too funny!
  7. I am so happy for you guys!! I cannot wait to be there myself.
  8. Good luck on your pre-op diet. You are lucky that you only have to do one week. I'm on day 8 of 14. The first few days I had headaches but, by day 4 I felt like myself. It is hard still cooking for the family and only having a shake for myself. We've got to keep our eyes on the prize! You can do it. Keep us updated. Best wishes.
  9. I'm the 27th as well! Good luck on your pre-op diet....you can do it!! Keep us updated.
  10. Keep up the good work, sparky1582. All that walking is awesome. I am having a hard time getting into an exercise routine. And your 6lb. loss in 2 days is amazing. I've lost 5lb. in my first week of the liquid pre-op diet. Good luck on your journey!
  11. Dena, I'm so happy for you!! Thanks for all the updates. It is great to see how your first week went.
  12. Today is day 7 (out of 14) of my liquid Pre-Op Diet. I have not cheated and I am so proud of myself! LOL I had headaches on day 2 and was very tired on day 3. On day 4 I felt like my normal self. Now, I'm not missing sweets or bread/pasta, or anything really but protein. I find myself thinking about chicken or beef. It really is kinda surprising. With my Protein Mixes I am getting 65g of protein everyday.....I just miss chewing on a chicken leg.
  13. Good Luck BeachBunny!! Can't wait to hear how you are doing.
  14. Today is my 2nd day and I've got headaches. I still think this is easier than I expected. I'm excited about seeing the scale go down. Good luck on your surgery! My date is Aug. 27th!!
  15. I'm so glad all went well!! Can't wait to hear how your first few days will go. Congrats!!
