  1. What kind of stomach ache?
  2. My surgeon recommended I take Pepto after surgery for the nausea and upset tummy. It helped a lot.
  3. I'm in the same boat! We just gotta stick it out, and the weight will come off
  4. Why do some doctors use staples?
  5. I take it and was able to take it right up until my surgery.
  6. I did my surgery outpatient. I didn't go "home" because it was in a different city, but I did go right back to the hotel the same day.
  7. Would love to hear whatever happened with this!
  8. In our society, most people few larger folks as less attractive than slender ones. Here's an interesting article about a study Dateline did on how people treat "Unattractive" vs. "attractive" people: http://www.nbcnews.com/id/3917414/ns/dateline_nbc/t/face-value/
  9. My surgeon also put in some sort of material to cover the staple line. I think he essentially described it as being cow stomach, and he said the body would just absorb it eventually but it prevents leaks during the healing process. I was a little horrified, but it makes sense.
  10. Do a forum search for "easy route" or "easy way out" and you'll see that unfortunately many (if not most) of us have faced this accusation from friends or family.
  11. Are you talking about sleepwalking, or purposely waking yourself up to walk?
  12. I'm feeling MUCH better today! Thank goodness
  13. My doctor recommended the Viactiv chews. I've been taking them ever since surgery, with no issues.
  14. Another good way to get in protein is to mix Silken Tofu into your smoothies.
  15. The only difference is the women's mags don't usually feature any full monty shots. The articles are certainly graphic, though!
  16. I didn't think the OP was asking about THAT sort of theater...
  17. OHHHHHHHHHHHH.....I thought it was for one bag of 15!!! hahaha
  18. Good lord those are expensive!!
  19. Well, the first obvious step would be to stop buying Goldfish Crackers
  20. I was checked for h. pylori prior to surgery. I don't have a gastroenterologist, but if things don't get better I'm sure I'll get one I'm much better today than even this weekend, so I think the "regular" PPI is working. I wasn't on one before.
  21. I don't see how this is considered a "lot of food"...prior to surgery I would have eaten 2 egg-salad sandwiches for lunch (w/ bread and probably 4 eggs), dinner I'd have eaten the whole burrito bowl plus some chips and salsa and maybe a cookie, and in the evening I'm sure I'd have found something less-than-healthy to eat like toast or Cereal.
  22. Wow, it sounds more like your brother doesn't want you to do the surgery because he doesn't want to lose his punching bag!
  23. Every surgeon has a different pre-op diet. Some have to do it for a few weeks--I just had to do liquids the day before.
