  1. Everyone's recovering is different, but I had my surgery on a Wednesday (5/22) and was back to work the next week Tuesday (5/28).
  2. I wonder if the guy knows he smells like a rotting carcass? When you're around yourself 24/7, sometimes you can't smell it anymore
  3. On that same topic...do you include your protein shakes in your fluid intake?
  4. Wow, smushies! That's a new stage I haven't heard before!
  5. Thank you. It's always good to know the signs to look out for. I truly hope things get better for you soon!
  6. Do you know about how many oz your stomach can hold right now? If so, just say "Honey, I need you to ensure you will not ejaculate more than XX oz. I hope you understand." haha
  7. One would think I'd learn after the first few times, but nope.
  8. I'm a May 22nd sleever, I'm down 21 pounds (but haven't weighed in this week...weigh-day is Sunday)
  9. Well if you're me, here's why... Because if you eat quickly and eat more than you should, you will feel like someone kicked you in the kidneys. And then like that same person is trying to pull your stomach out through your chest with a rusty hook. And then like you're cramping so hard your body might just permanently stay folded in half. And then, once the worst part passes, you'll just feel vaguely like a toddler is punching your middle. And that's why you should eat sloooowly and listen for the signals that you're full.
  10. I'm assuming you've already tried upping your caloric intake to "trick" your body into breaking the stall?
  11. Assuming you meant post-op (not pre-op), my surgeon gave me this anti-nausea suppository (I know, I know, not the most appealing) to take and it helped a lot. It also knocked me out so I could get some quality sleep.
  12. People still don't view obesity as a disease, even though science has proven so much of it is genetic. Imagine if she were saying something like "People with heart disease are so weak!" or "People with cancer--psht, why don't they just get off their lazy butts and do something about it?" Can't imagine people would find that nearly as acceptable!
  13. My experience so far has been pretty similar to when I did Medifast. Small, high Protein meals. Not really hungry. Have to drink lots of fluids. I know everyone's experience is different, but so far mine has been pretty Medifast-ish (sans the one big "Lean & Green" meal per day!) (I'm still in the soft food stage, too, so that's why)
  14. I think that long-term you'll be happier with your decision to get the sleeve vs. the bypass
  15. Exactly! It's a shame threads have to keep closing because of one person.
  16. Your body has been through a big stress--you could just have a case of the hives. I've been known to break out in those when my defenses are low. Probably best to call up your PCP and have them look at your spots and order a blood draw.
  17. You'll do great! Best of luck to you, and keep that positive attitude! It goes a long way
  18. I would have been tempted to walk up to them and say "In the future you should probably keep your conversations a little quieter; you never know who you could be offending."
  19. Also make sure to check out the "Complications" section of the forum; lots of stories are posted there!
