    Excercise....are you kidding me!

LOL. But I agree with you -- it feels so good after you exercise! I always seem to have more energy and it makes the rest of the day go by with a little less drama. I'm no where close to where you are in terms of weight loss. But I still love how it makes me feel......... Good luck tomorrow at the doctor..........

    Progress

Yes, must look sassy in the Big Easy :-). Congrats on your sizes and have an awesome week!!!

To Scale or Not To Scale????

I used to get on the scale 5, 6, 7 times a day. I let that stupid little device rule how I felt, what I ate, whether I worked out. I gave up on that. I put the scale back in the garage and don't even watch the scale on Wii fit when I turn it on anymore. I'll weigh every Friday night at the gym and let it go at that. You are so right -- the fluctuations in loss are so big its hard not to let them impact you. But you have a great attitude and a great partner in your dh!. Congrats on all your success and good luck!!!
  6. I just wanted to "stop in" and say hello and congratulate you on your success with weight and working out and motivation of yourself and those around you. :-)

    My Heart Attackiversary

You have been through a lot, and come out of it a great motivation and inspiration. I had severe chest pains about a year ago and ended up with EKGs and stress tests only to be told to lose weight and get my blood pressure and stress under control. I can't believe your hospital picture. Thank God you found your OWN way to the hospital and got things right. Good luck with your surgery and keep in touch.
  8. Wondering how you are doing?? Happy Sunday :-))

  9. Thank you for your kind words! Have a great day!

  10. Thank you for the clothes recommendations! I'm waiting until fall really hits here (its 100 today), and then I'll get a couple cute sweaters and slacks. I can't wait! Hugs and I hope you have a great Sunday!!!

  11. I second Shonette's post -- you are such a motivation!!! I hope all goes well with you and keep us "posted" on your marathons! I'm just finishing week one of C25K, so I'm a year behind you :-).

    My Reflection

You are so beautiful! I would have said a model, seriously! I'm sorry about your setback! Was this stomach flu? I threw up a lot after my second fill and I always worried the band would slip but I guess I'm past that. Did your surgeon attach the band to the stomach with a stitch or two? After reading your posts and responses I think you are doing fantastic! It looks like you have picked yourself up and moved on, which is AMAZING. The weight loss is a sign of the person and drive you have and that will take you VERY FAR in life. Best wishes to you!

    Almost a Year!

Congratulations on your success! You have always had great support and recipes for everyone on this site and I'm glad you have achieved such a tremendous weight loss in so short a time! A picture would be nice??? Best of luck to you as you move forward........... :-)

    suggestions

Gas X has strips too. They dissolve on your tongue. Unfortunately I've found this to be a side effect for me with eating more fruits and veggies. I agree with BK, walking helps. Basically on your feet even if its standing at work seems to help. But I use the strips probably a couple times a week as well. The other thing I noticed? Drinking water too fast? Maybe that isn't anything but sipping slower helps. And I gave up gum and (shock!) diet coke as well. Good luck :-). Take care of yourself!

    Update

I'm glad you are feeling better. I feel better just getting a lot of exercise and eating/drinking healthier. You are doing really well and your attitude is good. Sometimes that is more than half the battle :-).

    C25K -- The New Adventure

First a disclaimer: I have NEVER run for anybody or anything. I probably had to do a mile test for physical fitness a couple times and although I don't remember I'm sure I walked. Even thin I never was a runner. Inspired by my buddy LoseIt, I decided to try. Everyone is talking about the Couch 2 5K program, and I went online to download music, coaching and written materials. In my usual anal way I was probably over-prepared. My goal is to run a 5K on or around Christmas, where I will be in South Florida on a vacation. I started this morning -- Day 1 Week 1 of a 9 week program. Ish. For someone that has been doing pretty good cardio for 3 months I was not too good at this, BUT I MADE IT THROUGH. I jogged when I was supposed to and walked fast when indicated. The online blogs say this is not a way to lose weight, but 35 minutes of heart pumping cardio felt pretty much like a regular workout. I'm going to do this 3 days a week and have 2-3 days of weight lifting followed by elliptical. I am at a point where I'm not losing weight eating on plan and exercising 3 days a week. I added this program to try to kick it up a little. If I can walk in the morning I'll update you all on how I feel. If you don't hear from me I'm in bed with a heating pad on my thighs.......... Until then have a great Sunday!!!

    Negative family and friends?

Have some haters in my life. Some actually I don't spend much time with some of them anymore. I just don't want to deal with it. Others (my mom in particular) I either ignore their comments or remind her over and over to stop with the negative. The other day I told her if she couldn't stop it I couldn't go visit at Thanksgiving. I just can't deal with it. Hugs!!!!

So You Think You Can Dance? (dance, dance)

Your new clothes sound so cute! Where are you shopping? We went to Marshalls yesterday and the clothes there are so cute! I just don't buy anything as I'm still doing the size down dance. (Not as good as SYTYCD, but the best I can do!).

Success? Does 10 Sizes smaller equal Success? I think so!!!

What a beautiful post! Sometimes we get lost in the big stuff with the "lap" band and forget about the basics and the NSVs. I actually had someone tell me today that I'm "happier" than I used to be. OK! Thanks again for all your posts, Janet. God's peace.......

I'm a little ashamed at my emotional eating....

Is there a LB support group with your surgeon? That might be an option. My doctor actually offered a six-week emotional eating group. Gave us some good pointers. One thing to always remember -- be good to yourself! You have done an amazing thing for your health and you need to remind yourself often. Your reward should be feeling better. Hugs to you!

    ♫?*??♪♫ Blech!!!! ♪♫?*??♪

Too funny! Maybe try a crystal light-flavored water? Or sugar free pudding? I was thinking about the TWELVE packages of jello in my fridge -- i haven't had one since full liquids four months ago. Might need to toss those babies!
  24. sandradee0124

In control, maybe for the first time ever!

Isn't it a great feeling just to be in control?! Give yourself a virtual congratulatory hug for us! Your post is fantastic and you are doing great!!!

    Confused...

Switch something up -- what you eat (like above), add a new form of exercise, add another 30 minutes of exercise to a day/week. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and if you are stressed try to do meditation/pray/yoga to reduce stress. I was stuck (bad use of the term) for three weeks. I did all the above and I'm down 4 lbs this week already. I wish I would have done just one so I could be scientific about it, but oh well. Best of luck to you!
