  4. Well this has been a rough month. June 11th my beautiful loving Mom went to heaven. I miss her presence but her spirit remains in my heart. I have not felt hungry until this week. Keeping a vigil at the hospital and then the memorial week has been overwhelming. I have lost 24 lbs total and my bandversay is 2 months tomorrow. Thank God for His strength through all this stress. That is all for today

  5. :wub:Today is a good day! I did not overeat or even want to with all the stress I am going through with my Mom being sick in the hospital. She is soooo precious to me. I am so grateful she is doing well today. I weigh 201 and my top weight 5 years ago was 267 and my LAP-BAND®®®®® start weight was 218.5. I am also sooo grateful for a normal mammogrram or "smashogram" as I fondly call them since breast cancer 2 1/2 years ago. I am soooo grateful! Thank you God!

  7. One month post op. I am feeling so good. Grateful for the surgery and the mindset that the band is a tool. I have lost 16.5 pounds and my goal is 6.5 lbs a month from here on out. I have been using lapband.com for tracking my food and that has been very helpful. Food is not my enemy but unconscious eating is. It is like balancing my checkbook. So very helpful. My mom has been ill so I only did Zumba once this week. I have been very in touch with my emotions and grief.....I am not medicating them. Pray, cry and eat when physically hungry only.

    Bbq plans

Food is not the enemy. It is how I have given so much power to it, that is the enemy. A bite or two of anything is possible. You can do it. Don't limit yourself to "good food" . The lapband isn't a diet but a new way of life. Smaller portions. Don't let the food get the upper hand.

Thinking positively - cant wait to be filled

I am 51 and have been banded now 31 days. I went into this know the band was a tool. The other tool I found is the lapband.com site for recording my progress and food. Be careful about eating too little calories. I stick between 1200 to 1400 and I have lost 16 lbs since the day before surgery. I know that is alot for one month. Moving is important but not sending your body into starvation mode is important. My first fill was last week. I am a bit more restricted but I still could go crazy with food if I didn't write it down and track the calories. I wish you the best!!
  10. I am doing so well and am grateful for 15 lbs lost so far in four weeks. I got my first fill Tuesday and I do feel some extra restriction and no problem with backing up. I am learning when to stop. Keeping my cals at 1100 to 1400. This week has been emotional as my beautiful Mom is very sick and they say it is time to call in hospice. She is so precious to me and I am doing alot of praying and crying and talking. My mind is set I am not going to medicate myself with more food than my body needs....not this time. Keep our family in your thots and prayers. This is tough!
  11. Wow! I feel like I have just woken up from a fog. Eating less food. I am awake to my life again. Some of it painful but I am also feeling joy! How exciting. Having ptsd for a year and a half after breast cancer I sedated myself with food. I am ready to move forward in a healthier way for the rest of my life! I am grateful! 14 lbs down. My first fill is tomorrow and I am looking forward to the sweet spot.

Feel like im stuck with this weight.

:thumbup:Use LAP-BAND®.com for logging you food. Use it as a tool. Keep your calories between 1200-1400. You will start loosing again. It's like keeping a check book balanced. Enjoy!

Banded 12/30/2009, no weight loss for two weeks

I have been using lapband.com to log my food. Keeping between 1200 to 1400 cals keeps 1.5 to 2 lbs a week coming off so far. I am only 3.5 weeks into this and my first fill is tomorrow. Keeping the mindset that the band is only a tool is the key for me and the logging food is a tool also. Good luck. What I do know is I have to eat less than I ever did before as I age.

    Need a fill!

I get my first fill tomorrow. I have taken the attitude that the band is a tool and logging my food is a tool also. I keep track because I tend to eat unconsciously. It really does help and helps me keep my calories about 1200 to 1400. I am hungry more often so I hope the fill will help. I am self pay so I have 2 free fills with that. I hope I hit my sweet spot soon. I have lost 14 lbs since my surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago. I know when I am head hungry it is the worst so writing it down or logging it on lapband.com really helps me. My worse day was 1800 calories. I have dieted my whole life. Getting use to 1200 calories will help me maintain when I reach my goal weight of 140. I will keep you in my thots and prayers. Keeping our eyes on the goal!
  15. Hi had my surgery the 30th. Things are going real well now that I am on mush. Never thought eggs would be such a blessing. Hope ur ok. Let us know I too had a complication. I had a umbilical hernia where the bowel was fused to the wall of the hernia. Still having a hard time getting around but the lap band is going good. I have lost 15 lbs. Woo Hoo
