Gas Pains....what a pain!
My Dr. has me on mushies, just 2 days after the surgery. I'm not hungry, but I feel like I could eat by habit alot and not be bothered by anything. It's weird. I was hoping to get an assist from the band!

Gas Pains....what a pain!
Gas pains are pretty yucky. I haven't felt like throwing up yet, but I also feel like I could eat anything with no restriction. That's scary.

2 Weeks after surgery, need advice!
I was banded Monday and was on liquids for just 2 days. Not I'm on mushies. I haven't felt any restriction, but I sure haven't tested it. Are all bands unfilled during surgery?

What's the best way to take meds!
I was banded Monday, and this morning was my first time to crush and take the unrelated pills that I need to take. What a horrible taste! I tried them in some fruit juice and it was awful! Are there any tricks that you know out there????? :help:

Gas Pains....what a pain!
My Dr. says to walk a minimum of 30 minutes a day, and that staying out of bed is the best remedy for gas. (I just got banded yesterday...Yea!)

Let the Joyous news be spread: New Jersey votes yes on Gay civil union!
Aren't there more childen being brought up in single family homes now than two parent homes. That seems like a meatier issue than gay marriage. Pun not intended.

Considering band, but being pushed for the bypass
Seems to me that a big part of the change for me will be in pushing away from the TV and computer, where I usually eat nonstop. I keep trying to envision what my life will be like, and what I will be filling those particular times with..... Anybody have any encouraging thoughts?

HAHAHA. I'm sure there are people on cell phones who would be totally embarrassed if they saw themselves on camcorder.

And people don't realize that they are talking loudly FACING me, so I am sure they are talking to me. Some actually look like I'm being rude by listening. I was in La Madeleine one day, and a woman was at the next table alone, facing me and talking in her phone all during lunch. I went to her table and asked her to sit facing the other way so we couldn't hear her. She looked totally surprised, and complied. She looked like it never occurred to her.

I want freedom from rude cell phone users. Although I have a good one. I was in a store and a teenage girl was flouncing around next to me talking loudly to her firend on the phone. She said "I'm gonna dump him. I'm too God D... F...ing classy for him." I fell out.

What if I want to do something illegal that would enhance the rights of others to keep their money? If I were, say 90 years old, and on lots of meds and in and out of the hospital, and I chose to kill myself to stop using up our Medicare benefits that others might need, should I have the right to do so? (I am not anti-old people. This was from a discussion between old people recently.)

So theoretically I have the freedom to stand toe to toe with you and say I am taking money out of your pocket legally. The fact that I can do that and that you will subsidize my risky behavior means that to have a free society there must be a socialist underpinning. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need...." I'mm OK with that. Just adds to the paradox.

Nearest beach to main airports. Need help please

It depends whose rights you are wanting to emphasize. If siblings marry and have children knowing the risks, and then my insurance premiums go up to cover the cost of their children's medical care, and my property taxes go up to cover the extra care needed in schools, and so on, then the parents have taken money from me, violating my rights. Do I want to legislate against bikers who don't wear helmets, people who smoke, and anyone who eats trans fats? No. But by advocating freedom, I am subsidizing people who have the freedom to do risky things.... Freed om at any cost can mean the freedom to do things that impinge on other people.

The "another sick turn" was about legalizing marriages between people and animals. Read sentence that follows that. Ggive me a break!

Ha! Funny girl. The discussion has taken yet another sick turn since you last posted, eh, Carol. Keep singing! There are better things to do in life than discuss close relatives and animals marrying each other. Take the high road! We all clearly have too much time on our hands when we should be exercising.

Hey..What if you are in arrears for child support to the child you then marry. Do you still owe child support? Hmmm. Guess not, since you are then your spouse's custodial parent.

I don't agree with close relative marrying----too emotionally confusing and too many birth defects, so we'll have to have a discussion about it in our new democracy. OK. Gays yes. Minors and animals no. Polygamy-needs discussion, and apparently so does marrying a close relative. I'm assuming marrying a dead adult is a No-there's that sticky issue of "consenting", unless a psychic is present. Advocating gay marriage doesn't mean that a person is advocating all this other stuff, or that it opens the door to any of it. It can still be discussed if it becomes a burning issue, and decided. I doubt that marrying animals will become a hot topic. I think the argument about animals and the like is a way to be inflammatory in order to get rid of the issue.
