  1. When I got home after my surgery I was feeling great. It wasn't until like 2am when the pain kicked in. I woke up crying definitely needing some pain meds. So I went to kitchen and took 2 of my pain meds at the same time. Not thinking anything bad would happen but once I swallowed both of them. I felt one go down but the other just wouldn't go. It just felt like it was stuck and wasn't moving. To be honest it was a really scary moment! I didn't know what to do. So I started spitting up and that didn't work. I finally went to the bathroom and tried to throw it up. I didn't throw up anything except water and some foam. But after that I'm happy to say that feeling went away and I was able to breathe normal. Thank god! That was such a scary moment.:tongue_smilie: From now on I'm cutting my pills in 2 and taking it easy.

Guess that was my 1st lesson! I can't take pills the way I use 2. LOL Can't wait to see what happenes when I start eating real food again...
  2. Finally this day has come. At 10:30am on 4/15/2010 I finally had my LAP-BAND®®®®® surgery. Seriously it went by so fast. They weighted me in which they really wanted me to lose 15lbs for the surgery but I only lost 11lbs which is still GREAT! they took me to the back and put the I.V, gave me a couple of shots and after 30 mins. They sent me into this room where everything was so BRIGHT laid me on a bed, put a mask on me and asked me to take a couple of deep breaths. In just a few mins I was out. When I woke up I felt like I was drunk :lol:just talking shit with the nurses and asking for the nurse that signed me in cuz she was so nice. I passed out for like maybe an hour or 2. Woke up and I just had this heavy pressure on my chest. Which was gas. The gave me something for it and some ice and before I knew it I was burping it ALL out. 45 mins later I was out of there. My surgery was at 10:30am and I was out of there by like 2:30pm.

I'm now on my clear liquid diet and I feel fine. I do feel a little sore but I have pills for the pain. But I'm not hungry at all!!! Which is great!:tongue_smilie:
  3. My Story

Hi everyone! My name is Jhanette and I live in Miami FL. If you can image I'm 26years old and I haven't been to the beach in god knows how long. I just had my LAP-BAND®® surgery today 4/15/2010 and now I'm home checking out this site and reading all of these amazing stories.

So here is mine. I've always been over weight since I was very young but ever since I turned 22 my weight seriously hit the roof. My highest weight was 285lbs.

I started to look into the gastric bypass and was going to do it but in the end I chickened out. I was able to lose 10lbs by myself before I decided to join QWLC (Quick Weight Loss Center) and it did work!
I lost 40lbs. A total of 50lbs on my own! But even though I lost that weight it was a battle to keep it off. I came to a point where I just stop losing weight and couldn't pass 240ish.

So I started looking in to the LAP-BAND®® and after doing a lot of thinking and researching I finally woke up one day and set up an appt to see the doctor. It was on a Saturday that I went to strax rejuvenation in Kendall and I got approved for my surgery. 2weeks later I had my LAP-BAND®® surgery on 4/15/2010 with Dr. Michael Choi.

So right now I'm super sore and but I'm feeling great! I'm truly excited about this journey and I can't wait to see what's next.
Just wanted to share a long story with you cuz i was in the mood. Hope you all are doing well and losing all the weight u want. I wish you tons and tons of luck and I hope to be talking to you guys soon :tongue_smilie:
  4. Ok so i'm going to be honest and this is going to be really hard for me to do. But here I go. So I started my pre op diet on 4/5/2010 and the first day I did great but on the 2nd day I had a horrible day at work so I ate burger king... Took some pills to go2 the bathroom (if you know what I mean) but I still felt terrible. After that I haven't really stayed on my diet 100% I have been eating some cream chesse here and there w/ritz crackers (Reduced fat) But now my doctor told me on saturday 4/10 to start my all liquid diet. So the night before I had my last meal which was my weakness mcdonalds... :sad:I feel like I really can't do this. I know what the plus side of doing this surgery will be but I can't stop my mouth. I have 4 days left until my surgery and I promising myself that I will do it. I will stick to it! But what if I can't? What will happen? How bad can you cheat without messing up your chances to have this surgery. I know most people will say you want it so bad stop eating but it's easier said then done. Shit it's only for a few days! GOD WHAT IS MY PROBLEM!!!!!
