  1. what does a fill feel like? how do i know if its enough? and how long does it last? i know you have to be on liquids for a few days and I am a lil nervous I wont know if its tight enough there... and I cannot afford to ge fill after fill... floro is really expensive here too... input? thanks yall...
  2. ok so im really excited because I have been trying to be such a good girl but I havent lost or gained any weight in almost 2weeks, so i scheduled my first post op fill for my 6 week anniversary What to expect though... I don't know. So help me please, what is it like? does it hurt? what do they do? and did it work for you? and anything you might feel I should know I Like said I am soo stoked for this but still unsure of what to expect. Thanks for your feedback yall
  3. ok so i am week 4 now and in bandster hell... so how far out was your 1st fill? What size band did you have ( mine is 10cc) and was it effective? did you feel restriction? also did you se floro? thanks yall
  4. pre op i lost 25 lbs on a low carb diet, but since my surgery which was 4 weeks ago I have only lost 11 lbs, and i am happy about that but i havent lost anything in about 2 weeks, so i was thinking about going low carb till my 1st fill in a few weeks... what did you do? I am not gaining but i am aloso not losing. thanks yall
  5. ok so i am in the middle of week 3 almost 4 weeks post op, now I havent lost weight in like almost 2 weeks, havent gained, but havent lost is this normal? I added mushies last week, but still I think I should be losing something right? Or am I just weird... I guess I feel like ok... I have the lap band now... its in there, so that means I lose weight now right/// funny way to feel i know because in my head I know I havent had a fill yet so it's not like that. I feel like maybe I am just like ok... I waited soo long to get this done ( 2yrs+) now shouldnt this be working... just a little bummed its not like I thought thats all. tell me it gets batter after a fill right?
  6. how hungry were you after swelling went down but before first fill? how much food did you eat at a time? any ideas for tricks not to eat too much? freaking out a little bit that I wont eat well prior to my 1st fill... not eatting things i shouldnt and I am not eatting too much by most standards but banded people are different.
  7. couple things. how long after surgery was it when you recieved your first fill? how many cc's was it in what size band? and was it effective / did you get restriction? also how much weight did you lose following your surgery? pre and post fill. was there a big change? I know this is alot of questions but , I really am interested in finding out. I have not recieved a fill yet, in fact I was just banded 7/25 and so I am not able to get my 1st fill till I am 6 weeks post op. Now I have only lost 10lbs since my surgery... ang dont know if this is common? or how much I should expect this could change post fill. thanks for your input yall
  8. i had low carb diet prior to my surgery with liquids only 48hrs out. ggod luck , and thank you to everyone else for your advice.
  9. btw the reason I am eatting the creamy soups and I have also added really lose grits too is because I am hungry all the time now... weird?
  10. how important is limiting carbs in the full liquid stage? i always watched my carbs pre op all sugar free stuff, and things like cream of chicken soup which i am eatting now, wer not a part of my diet then. i am having a hard time treading the water . how can I get in the protein needed without spending a fortune on shakes? and I am wondering about the carbs because i had lost 10 lbs after my surgery but since entering my full liquid phase I have gained 3 lbs. and I would have thought in this time i would have lost more weight and I am wondering if carbs are the reason? I had my surgery in mexico and it was fine but i dont have many options for followup advice. thanks for you help yall.
  11. thanks you all for your help. You know I had my surgery on the 25th and I am coming up on my 3rd week. I had my surgery done in mexico because I don't have insurance and even though I am very pleased with my service and surgery, some things like follow up ar not as great. Thats one of the reasons why I have found help from people like yall on this site to be so valuable! Thanks again .

  14. hi there.. I was banded on the 25th and although I could not be happier to finally have my band placed and to be feeling better, I am worried because I expected a lump where my port is but my port area is normal looking not red or infected but is swollen and har for approx 3 inches diam. its weird, its like my muscle there has just become raised and riggid a couple inches all the way around my incision? I am concerned becasue although I fdont have much pain normally I do have alot of pain when standing back up after bending or sitting for a while. I am also becoming very hungry and frankly this is scary to me! I cannot hav a fill for atleast a few more weeks and dont want to regain any weight. I am still on full liquid diet and surviving mostly on soups and gatorade and water. Please tell me if this stuff is normal or what I can do about it.. thanks yall
