  1. Hi Erika, nice to hear from you! You just made me feel much better! I was really starting to worry about that little voice in my head too, lol, but I know I have to make a life change before my health suffers. I'm glad you are doing so well. I know it seems like it's going to be hard, but just remember that you are going to feel so much better when you have dropped all the weight and you can relax and feel good and healthy. That's what keeps me going. I hope everything works out for you, keep us posted
  2. Congrats on your first fill! The pre-op diet is going well, I cheated the first day, but haven't since. I still get to eat Breakfast and a lean meat dinner, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining. So far, it's been 3 days and I have lost 7 pounds!!!! I'm still nervous, but I finally bought a blender so my Protein shakes aren't all that bad
  3. This is an awesome idea, lol. I was wondering what to do about a wedding I'm going to on the 1st. I think I'll stick with a colonoscopy? LOLOL. You def can't drink before those.
  4. I am feeling the exact same way. Don't let it get you down, it's just the realization that the way you ate before has to be changed, and you won't ever be able to go back to the comfort of it... If you get what I'm trying to say. I'm just taking it one day at a time. You have all the information there, just ask questions as they come, we are here to help each other get through this with success! You can do it.
  5. Me too Michelle. Same date as you as well. I just went to the store and bought everything I need, well except for the Protein shake stuff, couldn't find the right one, looks l'll be looking for that tomorrow. Good luck to you
  6. May 6th for me. Nervous as well, starting the pre-op diet on Thursday.
  7. I just got the call I have been waiting for! My surgery date is set for May 6th!!!!! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time.
  8. Charting, that is a great idea. I hadn't even thought of that! Thanks you so much. Keep us updated with your progress.
  9. I hope so! Congrats! I'll try not to stress over it as much. Keep us posted on your progress
  10. I feel the same way. I only told a few close family members about my decision, and a few very close friends, but I know my friends wouldn't care if I ate less at lunch, or even just had Water while they ate, they care about me, and want me to feel good about myself so skipping the guacamole and chips at lunch will make our relationship stronger in the long run. As for the alcohol, I'm not going to lie, I do enjoy it as well, but after the first 6 weeks from what I have read up on here, you can still enjoy it in moderation, so you wouldn't be completely nixing it from your life forever.
  11. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'm so glad I joined. Today was my last appointment before my surgeon sends everything in for approval from insurance, so now I just have to wait for the psyc eval to be sent to him. I'm really nervous. I know my insurance doesn't require any wait time, and I have been doing nothing but reading threads and stories since I decided I want to get banded. I'm going to be absolutely devastated if I get rejected. I have a positive outlook though, my surgeon said my insurance usually covers it if the person is over 40 BMI and no other underlying problems. Which as of now I have none, not even sleep apnea.
  12. Congrats on your band. How is the pre-op going? That's the only thing I'm worried about. I'm trying to make good choices now before I get my surgery date to avoid the cravings
  13. lol, well I thought the welcome would be a litter warmer.
  14. Hello everyone. My name is Allie. I have been lurking here for a while, but finally decided to start posting. I'm 22 years old and 264 pounds. Finally ready to make a change that is going to better my life and my future. I have been to my psych evaluation and the nutritionist already, just have to see a sleep doctor and I'm going to be submitted to insurance. I'm really nervous, but excited at the same time. Also I can't help but feel worried about if I fail at this too, I have only failed at weight loss before in my life. I know this is the right decision for me, but I hope I can do it.
