Hi there, I'm here gathering information, reading, researching.  When I was very young I was hopelessly thin and at about the age of 18 I discovered my enjoyment of food.  I grew up in a chaotic home with alcoholic parents.  I do a lot of emotional eating.  I eat when I'm happy, when I'm sad, when I'm alone or in a crowd, and that's my greatest fear.  I have relationships that I think surround food, and I feel like the dynamics of those relationships will change, or will be lost.My husband had a gastric bypass a few years ago and I think he now weighs more than he did before his surgery.  He still goes to bed at night with food and he has never addressed his food issue, which typically for those of us that are overweight, have nothing to do with hunger at all.  A part of me wants to have the surgery in the hope I can help him, but mostly I want to do this as I want to address the emotional issues behind 'hunger'.
