  3. Take a B-12 and Biotin tablet everyday along with your 2 multivitamins. Your new stomach has less acid to break down and absorb the nutrients.

    First stuck episode I think...

chicken is horrible for me. Ugh try having everything get stuck for 3 weeks in a row. That was a horrible time period... Make sure you really, really chew the chicken. I find taking small bites helps too.

    Did your incision's itch?

OMG! I remeber the bandages they places on my incisions itched so bad! In fact I have a little scar that outlines where the incision was because I itched it so much. A week after surgery, I learned hydrocortisone cream was my new best friend.

    I don't get it? PIZZA??

I can pack away a huge hamburger from In N Out if I wanted to, but I can't for the life of me eat an egg. There's just weird exceptions I guess.

    Caloric Intake???

u know i think my doc said between 800-1000, but ppl keep telling me that isn't enough and my body is in starvation mode.
  9. Just curious, how many calories do you eat a day? I fluctuate between 800 - 1000 calories a day on average, but my weight loss just plateaued again. I think I might be under eating, but what do you guys think?

    can you feel your port?

Yup! I can feel it a lot. Sometimes I like to gross ppl out and make them feel it. Haha my doc says it's might poke out a lil when I lose my weight, but I don't care. It's like a little trophy in my mind. I don't even care about the scars because of what they represent to me.

    Second Thoughts

That does suck! But 70 miles doesn't seem that far to me for excellent post-op care. I travel 50 miles to the other side of the SF Bay Area for my doc. With traffic, my commute to the doctor is about an hour and a half. I even got in a horrific car accident on my way there one time, but I still go every month.
  12. I stayed one night in the hospital because I had an asthma attack as I woke up from the anesthesia. Also, on my way down from the recovery room to my own private room, the nurses that were wheeling my bed down there hit a bump and I was in excrutiating pain for an hour till they got my morphine drip set up. I liked staying in the hospital because I was really nauseous from the pain killers and the nurses were there to help me. Also, I started my period the day of surgery, it was soooo embarrassing! The next day I felt pretty good! Walking around really helps! Plus the morphine made everything worse, and it was nice to switch to vicodin the second day. Btw, there was no discharge from my wounds! The bandages sure were itchy tho!
  13. Ugh, I ate too much tonight. I was so famished, so I stuffed my face with the Chipotle goodness. Now my I'm really full, have that tightness in my left shoulder again, and feel the heartburn coming on. I feel so guilty, I haven't overeaten with my band in months!
  14. Hey Lisa! I love having my lap band and wouldn't go back! It sure is a lot to get used to and a HUGE learning experience. I had debated getting the surgery for almost 3 yrs before I actually got it. The band isn't a cure like most people think, because you can still get a whole lot of food down there if you're determined enough. It makes me think about everything I put in my mouth and if I should be eating this or making other choices. I've been somewhat successful after surgery, but I cheated a lot a couple months back. I could probably have lost a lot more, but we all gotta learn from our mistakes. One big piece of advice from a post-op, make sure you don't become overly ambitious with your fills and chew, chew, chew! I have found out the hard way quite a few times.

  15. Good Job Kelsey. You've lost 80 lbs and look great. I'm going to the orientation class tomorrow. How do you feel about your surgery. Lisa Garcia
