Has anyone heard of people getting their port in their shoulder? Also! Does anyone know of a doctor in alberta who does fill under fluoroscopy other than in Grand Prairie?

ya for sure. I heard that one too, but how would they mix up the two? crazy. Im so nervous after talking to the nurses that i feel bad that my mom is getting it with me. What if she goes through that stuff and i dont? It would be my fault because i showed her what it was.. Well i suppose all i could do is pray...... if something like that happened i would just have to pay for it to be removed..

Heres a new update on my potential death. I was told by the nurse who worked in the hospital... that she woulnt recommend it to anyone. cause one girl came back from Mexico with "the ultimate infection" Eating tube, pee bag, now anorexic, depressed, and lost her family because of it all. So scared seeing how i go next week for surgery! I think she hates me.

Ive been called a pig today, Told that my choice to not get married before living with my boyfriend is stupid and if we got married it would be a sure divorce. ( because im not catholic/christian) because christians have better judgement, When she picked up her granola bar and said "im going to eat this even though im not hungry..." I replied, haha thats wha happened to me, look at me now! She put the granola bar down. Thanks!, AND that i ate my breakfast really fast. "WOW, you ate that fast!" replied with THANKS! Thank you i realize im overweight, you dont need to remind me.

One thing i have noticed in my life is that "fat" people are funny! I have learned throughout my life that humor is the best medicine. Maybe it hasnt helped me with my weight but it definently helped my personality. For me, a sense of humor is a necessity in life. If you cant laugh, you havent lived. Working with my coworker .... skinny, pretty, high self esteem, boyfriends, sexual attraction, BORING. I mean not everyone can have a sense of humor but let me tell you one thing… being skinny and pretty isnt everything. Maybe it sounds like im just bitter, but im definently grateful for having a "fat" life and the ability to make people laugh.

Awesome thanks guys! One of her collueges actually came in the room and i told her and she was like AWESOME! The nurse looked at her and said "im trying to tell her not to go" The other nurse was like why? Soooo i just think she doesnt want me to miss work .. ugh She even tried to make me take the surgery dates as vacation instead of sick days. People can be so crazy lol

The nurse at my work just told me about "a bunch" of people who have come back from Mexico with post op infections and end up eating out of a tube and peeing out of a tube? Now they dont do the surgery in my city and she said she called the hospital to find out more information. I told her if nobody died then im good to go. I think shes trying to scare me. Has anyone heard of this?

My mom got a divorce about 8 months ago and is now getting the band at the end of the month. Im so excited for her. It will be a start of a new healthy life!

Does the nurse ask you to take out ALL piercings? My nipple peircings hurt SO bad, I can still remember the pain over 2 years ago. But i have taken them out

when you lose weight, you lose it around that area too. I had a friend who said when her boyfriend lost weight it got bigger!

There were actually commericals about yaz and yasmin causing stomach problems... maybe good that and make sure. I know my friend stopped right away

When is your band date? Im going to him May 25th

I would take it just incase. But when i called alberta health care they told me to make sure i got a receipt that stated everything little thing used(broken down). youll probably get 1200$ covered, anything helps really.

I know! crazy eh. I use ELITE powder its delicious and high in protein. Im trying to wein myself into this pre-op diet so i dont crash when the time comes. Ive lost 1 lb since last monday lol i need to lose 10 to get the surgery

Ya im not allowed to eat meat! lol :thumbup: so sad cause i love meat lol I can have two shakes and a lean cuisine.. then greens leafs in between and sugar free jello/popsicles.

I work night shift. Im not banded yet so id like to know what the difference is fomr a day shift. I know youre body pretty much shuts down at night to replenish itself but i eat the same as i do on a day shift... small meals high in protein low in fat.. How does that change with the band? Would you not eat the same way? I have to ask my nurse when i go for the surgery

My pre op is liquid only for 2 weeks. 2 Protein drinks, SF popscicles, and SF Jello , leafy veggies this is mine, im scared lol. I asked the nurse if i would starve lol i love meat. Im not a rabbit ya know lol You can do it!!!
