  1. Sooooo???? How did it go? How are you feeling? Been sending good thoughts your way!!!! My day's coming up, only 3 more days!!!
  2. Kerri, you and I started our pre-op the same day and will have surgery the same day. Read what I'm about to say very carefully... Do NOT be so hard on yourself!!!!! If we were able to do this ourselves, then we wouldn't be getting banded. You have only done what I have thought about doing. And although a lot of people may not reply and admit that they did the same thing, I'm sure they're out there. I have discovered that I am my own worst enemy. I have fooled myself over too many years that my addiction to food was not abnormal and that I was still healthy. I am not, nor have I been healthy!!! My addiction to food sounds just like yours. But, with the HELP of the band, we WILL be able to conquer this demon that we've carried for way too long. Please forgive yourself and don't look back. Continue to keep your eye on the prize. We have surgery is 3 days and we will be on the road to a happier, healthier lifestyle. Here's to you!!!!:bored: I look forward to reading your success stories!!!! Heather
  3. Melissa, you're the first person that has said they haven't lost anything...I was beginning to think I was some kind of freak!!!! That makes me feel so much better, but it SUCKS for us!!! So when do you have your surgery? Keep me updated!!!
  4. What an inspiration you are Amber, thank you for sharing!!! I've been dealing with the same questions and concerns!!! I'm now 5 days into my liquid diet and am now dealing with the major frustration of only losing 1 pound!!!! I haven't cheated, although I'm beginning to think that even THINKING about cheating is sabotaging me!!! If I get through this, it will be the hardest thing I've ever done!!!
  5. I'm doing 3 bariatric advantage protein shakes, 8 oz. a piece and sugar free jello. Then Crystal Light to drink. That's it, no cheating, nothing!!
  6. Ok, so I'm on day 5 of my liquid pre-op diet and I have only lost 1 pound...1 STICKING POUND!!!! WTH!!!! What is going on? And what am I doing wrong? I've added up the calories and I'm only taking in 800 calories. So why am I not losing anything? Has anyone else experienced this????????
  7. I am right there with you!!!! I started my 2 week liquid diet on Monday the 26th, so I'm now on day 4. And although I started out hungry, irritated with everyone, and with no energy, I can really tell a difference today. So I think maybe my body is done with it's detox!!! But I have had the same concerns that you have. Will my want go away? I'm glad to know there are people out there just like me who are feeling the same anxiety that I feel. But WE CAN DO THIS!!!!
  8. That's awesome...GOOD LUCK!!!
  9. Well, I've made it to day 4 (yay!!!!!!) and it is a whole lot better. I'm still grumpy and people are so inconsiderate about eating in front of me, but I feel MUCH more in control!!!! However, I got on the scale this morning and have only lost 1 pound!!! 1 FREAKING POUND?!?!? I'm very frustrated over this!!! But I feel better, so there's something to be said about that, right?
  10. Wow, this is a great thread!!!! I'm having my surgery on May 10 and I'm 3 days into my 2 week liquid diet!!! I've been telling myself that I can't do this, why should this be any different from my previous attempts? But this sure has helped!!! I want what many people want... I want to be able to buy "normal" size clothes, not plus I want to fly in a plane without a seatbelt extender I want to feel beautiful and sexy and be able to look my husband in the eye when he tells me I am I want to FEEL better!!!!! I want to be able to walk into any place and not immediately look around to see if I'm the fattest person there!!!! That's the short list...But most of all, I want to be comfortable in my own skin, for the first time in 37 years!!!
  11. I can't have coffee , which is part of my problem. I can't have any caffeine at all. So the lack of caffeine and the lack of sugar, it's a bad combination for me!! But hey, I hope it's much better for you!
  12. Wow, good luck tomorrow!!! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who feels this way!! I've read that it gets better after the 3 or 4 day, is that true? I'm holding out hope that it is!!! But yes, we CAN do this!!!!
  13. I'm STARVING, I have NO energy, I'm grumpy and I could gnaw my arm off if I had enough energy to do it!!!
  14. Yay!!!! Good luck to you!!!! I started to liquid diet Monday, so hope yours goes better than mine has!!
  15. My surgery is scheduled for May 10 and is done as an outpatient. I have to be at the hospital at 5:15 am and have been told that I'll be home by noon. My friend had it done by the same doctor and she took the whole week off but was fine on her own the 2nd day. I am only taking 3 days off from work, so I'm hoping that I do as well. Good luck...
  16. Wow, you've lost 80 pounds in 4 months? That gives me the encouragement that I needed while on day 3 of my 14 day liquid diet!!! You go girl!!!
  17. Thanks bambam, appreciate the support and encouragement!! I'm now on day 3 and I'm happy to say that my family is still alive and I haven't gnawed my own arm off yet!! I'm just hoping that after today or tomorrow, that I'll have more energy and not be as grumpy!!
  18. That's exactly my problem!!! Although I have a tremendous sweet tooth, I'd kill for something savory!!!! I'm going to try chicken broth for dinner and HOPE that it will do the trick for me!!! Good luck to you...hang in there!!!!:scared2:
  19. I am right there with you!!! I am on day 2 of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet and I'm dying!!! I feel like my stomach is about to start eating itself!! I'm allowed 4-5 protein shakes, all the sugar free jello, pudding and popsicles I want and water. I have NO energy, I'm starving, I'm having terrible headaches and I'm grumpy!!!!! I'm hoping and praying that it gets better as I go along. Good luck to you!!
  20. I am on day 2 of my 14 day liquid pre-op diet and I don't know that I can make it!!! I'm STARVING, I have a horrible headache that I can't get rid of, no energy and I could almost bite the head off of anyone who stands in front of me. 12 more days...:scared2: any advice for me?
  21. I'm a little afraid of the pre-op diet, myself. My surgery is scheduled for May 10, which means that I start my pre-op diet on April 26. I'm supposed to have 4-5 protein shakes per day and that's all. Yuck!!! I'm already dreading it!! But I read someone's post that said they had to do it for 60 days, so I feel very fortunate.:frown:
  22. Good luck to you, I'm sure you will do great!!! Keep me posted on how you're doing!!
  23. Hi, I'm 37 years old, married, mother of 3 beautiful girls and have been overweight my entire life. I remember being in kindergarten and realizing then, that I was bigger then everyone else. I attended my first Weight Watchers meeting at the age of 10 and have been fighting this battle ever since. I have completed my pre-op requirements and have been scheduled for surgery on May 10th. I'm excited, scared, but most of all ready!!! I guess I'm more afraid that I will fail at this attempt to lose weight as well as every other time I've tried. I have read over many posts and have been both educated and encouraged as well as, a little afraid of what all of you have written. But I feel that the more information I have, the more equipped I'll be for my journey. I look forward to reading more of your posts and seeing the successes, as well as posting my own successes.
